"I visited and it was very good. I wouldn't mind my mom being there, but she wanted to stay where she was. I can honestly say I was pleased with what I saw and the questions that I asked. It looked very good. They showed me the rooms and I was very pleased with what I saw. I thought it was good. I didn't go inside the facility, but I visited from the window side. The rooms look good from the outside. I looked into the room through the windows and it was spacious. The staff that I met was good. I noticed the outdoor area looked nice."

"I went to Spring Arbor of Wilmington and I was happy with the place. They had an activities director, they had a room for activities, and they had a movie room. I met one or two people that were in charge of the staff and they were really nice."

"My wife has been at the Landings for the past 10 months. And I have been there for hours almost every day during this period. As such, I've had a bird's eye view of the facility, the procedures and most importantly the care my wife has received from the staff. Without exception, I can say that the staff has been incredibly kind and supportive of my wife and all others in the memory care unit. Caring for those with dementia and related issues is not easy and not for everyone. During these past months I never saw a staff member criticize, scoff, roll one's eyes or otherwise show disdain to a resident. My wife's condition continues to decline, and the staff has adjusted nicely to these changes. in fact, they've been quite creative in addressing unanticipated issues. I wholeheartedly recommend the Landings to you if you're looking at assisted living facilities in this area. And by the way, the management is hands on, the facilities are outstanding and the food is surprisingly good."

"New Hanover House Assisted Living is a beautiful facility. The staff were very nice and they were able to explain very nicely. They couldn’t have been more helpful and interested in us coming to look at the facility. I like how they were very interested in helping me, but they weren't being pushy. They understood that I wasn’t sure I needed assisted living yet for my mother, but they gave us the financial information that I needed and invited me to come back anytime. From what I was seeing and smelling, it looked like the facility is good. "

"The lighting at Cedar Cove Assisted Living was very dim. The halls were not as wide and they would not allow my dad to have his scooter there, which would have been an issue with the length of walk that he had to do to get to the dining room. Other than that, they were all friendly and polite. I've had meals there and the food was good. The apartment we saw was just one big room with a bathroom. My dad was supposed to get a private room, which he wanted, but they didn't have one available (they have some private rooms, but most of them are semi-private). They have a nice dining room. I know someone that has been there for about three years. So, I've been out there many times to visit and most of the residents were very social."

"I am so thankful my Mom and I landed at The Commons at Brightmore. She has been living in Paraklay Way for about 2 years, but was a resident in two other units prior to this last move. As Mom's cognitive status has changed, the staff has gently adapted along with us, and has patiently educated me as I struggled with Mom's dementia. A a staff member said recently, "This is her home. We are all a family." And I am ever so thankful for that sentiment and the care they give that reflects it. What a gift to hear a staff member say, "Oh I love working with this population. It just speaks to my heart." And I have heard that over and over. I get photos of my Mom when I cannot be there for a few days, they are patient with my worries, and let me partner with them in activities and celebrations when possible. My Mom loves these kind, talented, caring folks as do I. "
