"Pleasant Meadow Assisted Living is a very clean, very friendly, and very caring facility. They offer good home cooked meals, and all the help my mother could ask for is there. They help her get dressed, they help her with showers, they cook her food, they give her some medication, and they take care of her like she is family. She has a private room. They play cards, puzzles, and bingo, and they do exercises. The food looks good and is nutritious. It's very reasonable price wise."

"My mom has lived at Council Oaks of Nicholasville since 2010. It is a beautiful place with staff far better than most facilities. The staff loves the residents and I had NEVER seen any unkind or inappropriate act there. The availability of special care for senior citizens with Alzheimer's and Dementia in this establishment is noteworthy due to the number of skilled professional nurses in staff who are present on duty for 24-hours.There are a lot of activities for the residents on daily bass including exercise programs, a salon and physical therapy too. The community comes in several times a week and provides musical entertainment of some type for the residents. The food is of a reasonable quality. They have a rotating menu and an a la carte section that stays constant. It was nothing incredible, but it gave enough variety to work. Also, the facility allows pets, only that the pets need to be less than 20 pounds. Location of the facility is another good thing for the residents. Everything, from grocery stores, and library to special care hospital that one would need is within 5-10 minutes walking distance. This is the best assisted living facility! "

"This is a beautiful assisted living facility.My mom is currently living there.She and I both are very happy with the care she receives.When you arrive there,the outside is beautiful,and maintained,even in the winter time.They have a area where birds live,you can see them up close,feed them,which is unique for any facility.I have observed the way the staff treats other patients living there,they are patient,friendly and kind to everyone.No one working there is harsh,or mad,or in a hurry to get home-like I have seen at a different facility.They have a lot of staff working there.Nurses,aides,social worker,cooks,grounds keeper.It is amazing the amount of people it takes to run a assisted living facility.The buildings are very clean and updated,the floors shine,trash is always out of sight,the visiting area is very comfortable and adequate,I have no problem visiting for many hours.The meals are well planned,some patients are on a special diet,including my mom.If I am there when meals are served,they always offer me a tray,which keeps my mom and I the feeling of eating together at home,like we use to do. "

"I went to Legacy Reserve at Fritz. It's very new and very clean. They have a similar type of activities and a similar type of layout to the other facility. It was nice, it was new, it's just not what I was looking for. I believe they had a gym facility for physical therapy that was very nice. What I think they probably need to improve on if anything, is more information about what they offer. It was more difficult to find what was available and what kind of activities were available. Those were explained to me directly, but if you look through their web page, it wasn't nearly as informative as I was expecting."

"I have had family here for 16 years. The apartments have a larger square footage than most in the Lexington area, including a kitchen. There are a variety of activities for all residents to choose from if they wish. The dining area is beautiful with an option to dine outdoors. Food is good. Staff are friendly and very caring. Staff will go out of their way to make sure that residents are cared for. Good value for cost."

"My wife was in Tanbark because she had Bell's palsy and was falling every day. Tanbark did everything they could, but they couldn’t be with her all of the time. They had very professional staff and a doctor that came in to see her once a month. The food was good. The room was nice and had two rooms: the bedroom and the living room. It had a walk-in closet, a nice bathroom, and a small kitchenette. It was a very nice place and served my wife’s purpose at that time. "

"My tour experience at Friendship Towers was excellent but it's not exactly what we were looking for at the time. The facility was clean, not one of the best places I've been to, but it's nice. The staff that I met there were great. They had a lot of activities going on, they had a salon and also a library."

"Our tour of Cedarhurst of Beaumont was excellent and well coordinated. There's a small sink in the room, but no hard cooking surfaces. The dining area looked like just a regular nice dining room. They did very well during the tour. The staff was friendly on the initial. I was very pleased with the facility. We went to a carhop, stayed in the parking lot, and they brought the food out to us and it was very good."

"My mother has been in this facility for about 6 months and I am very pleased with her care. She has improved, and she likes the staff. They have been responsive to my questions or any problems I have brought to them. I would rate them as one of the best in Lexington and I am very happy about her living situation!"

"My mother-in-law moved in at Liberty Ridge around the first week of October. They were very kind, helpful, and supportive. My mother-in-law is in a 1-bedroom apartment and I thought it was nice. She felt very welcome there. They have a nice lobby with couches where the residents would congregate. They have a big dining area with lots of windows, and off of that is a very nice courtyard. One thing that drew us to that place is that it's not a very large community. And because my mother-in-law can't see well, she feels more comfortable moving around. I've tried their food and I liked it. I think the food is very good. They have a lot of activities. They have exercise classes, Bible classes, movies, entertainment, and sing-alongs, and they go out to lunch sometimes. They have a beauty salon, an exercise room, a physical therapy room, and an area with books and puzzles. The staff there is great. Mom has to have these light bulbs and they got that for her. She has to have the remote control for the heat thing and they got those. The place is very clean, welcoming, and inviting. There are cottages all around it for independent living and they are just beautiful. The landscaping is pretty. There's a pond in front of the building. It's kind of like being in the country but you're not. It's very pretty."

"I was at The Willows at Hamburg and I liked it really well. My room was a good size and they kept it very clean, and the bathroom was always clean. The staff was absolutely excellent and I always got my medicine on time and if I needed help with anything, someone was there within a minute. They have a very long list of things like bingo, puzzles, and board games. It seemed like they have a lot of people coming in and playing music. It looked like they were very busy with activities. They were very cooperative. They knew I was in an extreme amount of pain and they wouldn't push me. They would give me a massage and if I was having a bad day, they would come to my room and do therapy rather than have me go to the therapy department. It was the cleanest place I have ever been. Everybody was extremely nice and eager to help you. It was a nice place to be."

"I've been to Meadowthorpe Assisted Living & Memory Care. It's like, eight rooms to one area, so basically, everything was on one floor. It was easy to access the kitchen area, easy to access the dining room area, and all the facilities. Everything was just in one area, so you wouldn't have to worry about taking an elevator or getting stairs, or traveling somewhere else to go to the activity area. Also, it was one aide to eight residents. It was clean and the upkeep was nice. The staff was very informative, and answered all the questions that I had."
