"It is a very good facility, and they are very good to work with. However, my father has severe dementia, and he is beyond their care. He needs a couple of people to help him and more nursing care than they can handle. My father has been there for two-and-a-half years now. Because I am three-and-a-half hours away, I asked the staff to please let me know every time something happens -- like if he falls or if he gets new medications -- and they always have, so they have been very helpful and accommodating. My father has a big studio apartment where you could put a bed, a recliner chair, a TV stand, a bathroom, and a closet. I have eaten there a few times, and the food is pretty good. In the memory care, they have two dining areas, a little café, and a full dining room where you have to sign up and get a little bit more dressed up for. They also have activities going on all day, from memory games to cards to sing-a-longs and to movies. They always keep him active. The memory care is very clean, the nurses are very attentive, and they are always on top of everything. They are very careful, especially with COVID, but it's understandable that they do what they have to do to keep their patients safe."

"I toured Sunflower Springs at Homosassa, which is all assisted living. They had doctors and nurses on call 24/7. The staff who gave me the tour was wonderful. She answered my questions and answers my phone calls. They had a backyard and front porches with chairs, they've got a courtyard, a gym, they've got a salon, movie rooms, and an exercise room. But the exercise room doesn't have the equipment, there weren't treadmills or anything."

"My mother was placed here in 2004, She recently passed away however, I wanted to share with everyone the care she received here. My mother and I could not have picked a better place for her to live. The staff is the best. I know as a caregiver the toll and stress it puts on a person no matter who you are, but I must say the RA's at New Horizon was always smiling, kind and the care they gave went over and beyond. New Horizon offered much more than other assisted living facilities that we had experienced before. It was as if they were kin to us. I must say we were truly treated like family."

"I chose it for my mother. I was there with her for a week or so and she came to enjoy the place very much. She liked the food and she like the residents who were there. She was fine there. The rooms were very clean and spacious. I know they have some activities, but whenever they have activities I don’t really attend. I think they have some activities for coordination and my mother attended church services "

"I like that the memory care in Canterfield of Ocala is a small part of assisted living. There are only 20 residents and so the ratio of caregivers to residents is very high. It is very clean. The meals are extraordinary. I followed them very closely. There is an activities director who keeps them busy all day unless they are sitting in the living room and just sleeping. Overall, I think that it is a very good lifestyle compared to other places that I looked at. They're well educated to deal with memory care residents. The building has a very nice layout. It's fairly new. It's only a few years old and so it's extremely clean. I've witnessed them cleaning and shampooing the carpets in the hall and shampooing all of the furniture in the living room and in the dining room. So, it's very good. There are singing and dancing activities, and then a morning exercise program if they're able to cope with it. They go outdoors on the patio when the weather is good. They have little craft activities, they play bingo, and they love to play basketball. They also have movies (there's always a TV on), So, there's plenty to do to keep them occupied. Compared to others, nothing is inexpensive. Everything else is expensive, but we chose this place because of the quality of care and so money doesn't enter into it."

"My first priority deciding on an ALF/Memory Care facility: Medical care in a caring environment, provided by experienced staff. Choosing Elevated Estates, Brooksville met my requirements. The medical, support, and facility staffs attention to my husband was exactly what he needed. Yes, the facility is undergoing major physical renovations. While that was ongoing, it is clean, comfortable, and when something unexpected happened they addressed it practically immediately. I’m truly grateful for the care Elevated Estates Brooksville gave our family."

"I liked it, but when we got to the rooms, the bathrooms were not handicapped accessible because my dad is in a wheelchair. The staff was excellent. You name it, and they have it; they have pool, card games, and when we were there for the tour, in one common area, they were getting back massages. It was just beautiful. Some people there had dogs, and we saw dogs and the like. If their bathroom were handicapped accessible, that is where my father would have gone. I absolutely loved it there. "

"My mother has moved into Casalia Gardens. I knew she would like it there because of the amenities and the environment. There's a very professional medical staff. It's a homey environment. They have very good specialists that come in and visit the facility and see the patients. It's a homey atmosphere, it's hands-on caregiving, and it's constant supervision. The place is very clean. The patients are well cared for. The food is excellent, fresh, and home-cooked every day. They have puzzles, coloring, games, and bingo. They have endless activities to occupy the residents. The move-in was very easy. It was coordinated and so professional. My mom is very comfortable there. It's a wonderful place."

"We really liked this facility. The people were super. It had a nice layout and memory care. They were very kind and willing to work with us. We worked with Young Marines, and when we had one of our drills there, they accommodated us to no end. We had invited the whole community, so people were coming in, many in wheelchairs, and enjoyed that event. The kids liked the food, too. They ate well that day."

"Hawthorne Inn of Ocala was an average facility, but the interaction I saw between the residents was excellent. They were interactive. It's good. We were in the dining area because it was around lunchtime, and Dad got to see the interaction of people there and was concerned about the language barrier. Most of them were only English speaking, and he's a Spanish-speaking 99%, He wanted to make sure that the location had some bilingual people or people who spoke his language so he could interact with them properly. We visited the three types of room sizes. They were adequate. The room size, for our standards for one person, was kind of in the middle range. It wasn't that big. The hallways were clean. Everything's OK. We went through a library area where the residents got to pick books and read. They had somewhat of a selection. It wasn't a huge selection. Then we stepped outside. In our opinion, the outside was not an appropriate interaction for outdoor activities because there was none, other than a small porch with a couple of seatings. You just kind of sit there and maybe bask in the sun, and that's about it. My dad is more of the outdoorsy type that he would like interactions with a garden or growing tomatoes, or there are animals in the facilities, or just basically gazing and seeing what's going on in there to kind of keep his mind occupied. I personally liked the wood floors. That made it a nice, very homey, and warm feeling. The staff was friendly. All the spaces that I visited were clean. I got a peek at their activity room or craft room where they were doing some painting or something like that, and it was small because this looks like a smaller facility than the other one we visited. I saw their menu and they had a variation of items."

"I liked Buffalo Crossings Assisted Living because it had a lot of activities and the staff was very nice. The dining hall was great and the food was good. They served three meals a day. They also had transportation for the residents. The place was beautiful, clean, and shiny. We saw a couple of studio apartments and a 1-bedroom. The studio could accommodate a bed and maybe a couple of chairs, which I didn?t like at all."

"My parents have moved into A Banyan Residence. What I like best is that the whole facility is enclosed. My mom has dementia. She's not a wanderer yet, but we don't have to worry about it. What I like least is that the units are so small. Every time I'm there, I eat and it is awesome. The activities are great. My parents are not yet good about joining in the activities, but the ones that they have done, they love especially the music. They have live music and that's one of their favorites. Value for money is good."

"My father is in The Residence at Timber Pines' memory care center, which is one of the best ones around. We like it and how the place is laid out. It is not like a nursing home. It is very nice and very clean. The people are very good with the residents. I can’t explain how good this place is; it is just really nice. The food is good. The staff members are very friendly and make you feel at home. They treat them with respect and know them by name. They have lots of activities. It is a beautiful place, like a 5-star hotel. They do bingo, arts and crafts, and trivia, plus everyday talking about things that they would remember from the past. They have entertainment that comes in all the time and take rides in the van to get ice cream. Every Friday, they either go to lunch or dinner. "

"I went to look at Brookdale Chambrel Pinecastle. It was a short distance from me, and I liked it. It was on my top three lists. It was very spacious. It met all the criteria. They have on-site nursing. They offered assistance if my father needed a ride or to get to his appointments. He has his independence on top of having nursing care. They had plenty of activities. The dining room looks nice. The staff seemed pleasant and helpful. As far as the care goes, they offered to get things done, like the laundry and taking the trash out. They gave me a little dessert thing when I left, and it was good. They had a game room and a community room for your family."
