"It was very, very nice. It looked like a luxury hotel. The apartment did not have a kitchenette, but it was very, very nice. It was a large living space with enclosed bathroom. The staff was excellent, very accommodating, very conscientious, and very concerned about helping me in any way that they could. They were outstanding. The initial lobby was beautiful. There was a little kitchen area that might have been for snacks throughout the day, and it was very clean, very organized and very welcoming. The dining room was setup very nicely, and it felt almost cruise-like with the big dining room. It was very nice. The staff was absolutely concerned about the residents."

"I toured Coachman Square at Woodbridge, and it was excellent. The memory care section seemed very organized and professional. The layout is very organized. It is in a busy section of town, so it probably isn't as aesthetically pleasing for somebody who would want to drive up to a nice country-style setting with lots of gardens and things; they don't have that. I think it's a little outdated. It had the overall feeling of not being a nursing home."

"I toured Charter Senior Living of Woodbridge. It was a good experience. However, at that time, they didn't have enough staff. They were in the process of redoing the whole place, so there were a few little glitches about the staff. The food was good though. The rooms were really nice and big. The upkeep of the place was OK."

"Deciding to change the living situation of a senior in your life is tremendous. For both the senior and their family. Maplewood’s staff is there for both. You are greeted from day one as part of a big family. They are continually checking on your senior to make sure they are engaging, having them interact with others they feel your senior will be compatible with. And the family, they give you the tools to make the transition the best it could be understanding how difficult it is. Every staff member has a smile on their face and you can sense the positive atmosphere as soon as you walk in the door. "

"Charter Senior Living of Orange is absolutely beautiful. It has plenty of options for what kind of room, how much care you need, and how big a place you need. However, it was a little over the budget at the time, with what Mom wanted to spend or what she was expecting, so it was a bit of a sticker shock, and so Mom kind of got cold feet with the whole thing. The people who were running the tour were great. They were fine. They did a great job. They showed us everything we needed to see and told us everything we needed to find out. The place was only a couple of years old; it was just a great place."

"I liked The Village at Kensington Place. It was really pretty. The apartments were nice. The only reason why we didn't go with them was that it was priced higher. It was really beautiful. I have nothing negative to say about the staff, or the rooms, or any of their amenities. The staff that I met with was very friendly. They sent me a thank you card for going and looking at it, which I thought was nice. No one else did that. They seem to have a big calendar filled with activities like speakers coming in, music. They had a library and that's important, because my dad likes to read. I was pleased with the Village, it was my first choice."

"I toured Crescent Point at Niantic, and it was very good. It was new and pretty, and it was a private facility. The staff who assisted me with the tour was fine. The dining area was restaurant-style. The upkeep was nice because they had more staff. The building looked like a new hotel."

"We choose Atria for my mom because they have everything that we are looking for. They have the independence that she wants and the care that she needs. The facility is wonderful and clean. The staff is very welcoming and attentive. The food and the dining area are very good. The have studio apartments. The activities are excellent. They have movie nights, happy hour, entertainment comes in and performs for them. "

"Carriage Green at Milford was our favorite among the facilities we had visited. I think the rooms were very nice and spacious. They were arranged in a nice way. I think my mother-in-law would have been comfortable there. They had 2 bedroom apartments which I did not see in the other 2 facilities we’d been to. If I ever needed a place to go, I would be going there. I was very impressed with them and I told my wife that if I ever needed one, this is where I want to be. I would highly recommend this facility. "

"I visited with my brother. Everything is excellent. I was in awe with the beauty of the place. The rooms are very nice, roomy enough but not too big. My mother has an apartment for a single person. She's got kitchen and everything. We were able to go in ahead of time and set up the room with her furniture and her belongings. The food is excellent. When you look at the menu, it's set up so you'll feel like you're eating in a nice restaurant. "

"Just Like Home provides a warm and welcoming home. Mom has been well cared for, and you can tell the staff really love the residents. The house is clean, the food is good, and the residents have appropriate activities each day. We are happy to have Mom here."

"I chose Spring Village at Stratford for my aunt because of the price and the quality of service. They have a lot of staff, and they all care. They all speak and read English and they are all credentialed and know what they're doing. My aunt loves the food there. They have activities all day long, non-stop. The building is beautiful, homey, and it is a nice place. They have a salon. My aunt can't believe the room that she has. She really thinks it's great."

"My mother in-law has Alzheimer's and we don't want to put her in a nursing home. We want to put her in a place that would focus on her Alzheimer's and that's how we found The Village at East Farms. It's good that it is closer to our home and we can visit her often. We like that she is in this facility. It's very nice there. The staff is just great and they conduct hourly rounds with her. She is able to mingle with the residents who are there. The food is great. She is kinda picky so they adjust to her as to what she likes to eat if she happens to not like what's on the menu. Her room is big and for about a week she had a roommate and she was fine with it. We also have meetings and they address all of our concerns. My mother in-law is very happy there. "
