"Just Like Home's Dogwood Home was in a rural area. The rooms were spectacular and they had a walk-in shower. The residents were taken out of their rooms to an exercise room and they all looked showered. It's just like being in a home. It was beautiful. There's a nurse and two other helpers for the memory care residents. They have a barber/salon for them to get their hair cut, a woman that comes in and does exercises in the big community room, and televisions in their rooms as well as in the front living room and the exercise room."

"Colebrook Village at Hebron was very nice. We had lunch there, which was just soup and a sandwich. The people were very friendly and very nice. There were many people who were using such devices, so that turned me off a little bit. But the facility was lovely, and the accommodations were lovely. The other thing I like about Colebrook is that they have a lot of people there that I know. So I wouldn't be going into a place without knowing anyone. So that was a plus. It was friendly and very accessible. There are some walking trails, and it is very near to my primary doctor, CVS, and a supermarket, and that's a plus. The person who works there brought me meals from Colebrook, and the food is very, very good."

"We toured Elmbrook Village, and it was very good. We did both independent living and assisted living, and both are the same there. The staff was very good. They have restaurants, a meeting room, a movie place and so forth. It was quite homey."

"My father in law was at Madison House for 3 weeks and had a wonderful experience. His rehabilitation was great as was the staff, food and accommodations. He has stayed at other facilities but I would recommend Madison House over them."

"The Guilford House was lovely. The nursing care was very good. Everything was very good. My dad ate three meals a day, and for him to say the food was good is pretty good, because he's picky. He had therapy every day, even on the weekend and he went home in very good shape."

"Masonicare at Chester Village was a very nice place. We had a nice tour, and it was very informative. They answered all my questions. The people that were walking around looked very happy. The buildings were immaculate. The grounds look like they have a lot of planting. It's a wooded area, so you got plenty of walking trails, so it was very nice. The food smelled good, but I didn't try any food. They have a lot of things going on. They have all kinds of card games. They have an exercise room and a pool. They do senior aerobics, senior exercise, and senior yoga. They do all that kind of stuff. It was very interesting. The rooms were gorgeous. The particular one that I was looking at is a one-bedroom plus den, and it was big enough to put my dining room set in there too. They are all updated with new appliances and a granite counter. It was beautiful. The staff members that I met were very nice and very friendly. The facility itself was as clean as a whistle."

"Apple Rehab in East Haven is a very good facility. The PT department is particularly good compared to other facilities. The PT staff is highly skilled and there is vast array of equipment. If you or your loved one are looking for a good short-term rehab facility, I would encourage you to look at Apple Rehab in East Haven. "

"My husband was a patient at Montowese for several months, on and off. He was a very difficult patient but the staff were infinitely patient and provided magnificent care - saving his life twice through timely intervention. The most impressive aspect to me, as I visited daily, was how clean it was and how it never smelled anything but clean. I established an excellent working relationship with all staff members and several went "beyond the call of duty" to help me out. My only complaint is that my husband was discharged too soon, on the basis of his own insistence, but the administrative nurse who discharged him is no longer working at the facility. "

"The Landing of North Haven has been a wonderful addition to my moms life. She was skeptical at first about leaving her home of 52 years, but has grown to love The Landing. She has made friends in the community and the staff from managers, care staff, all the way to the front desk are always so polite and helpful. The food has also been great with my mom calling me on a nightly basis to tell me what she has for dinner and always has nothing but the best things to say about her meals. We have also attended some of their family functions and the food is always great! They also keep busy with numerous activities a day and outings throughout the week. Overall, The Landing has become a part of our family and my mom is happy to now call it home."

"My brother and his wife have already moved into a community called Masonicare. The rooms that they chose are quite large and very clean. Their amenities are very nice also. The staff seems quite knowledgeable. Everybody, even the people we didn't interact with, were very friendly in greeting people. I have eaten there with my relatives, and the food was very good. We did lunch. It was served very nicely, just like a restaurant, where you're getting each course separately. There was one thing on the plate that my sister-in-law didn't care for and they asked her what she would like instead, and they were just very nice. Everybody is very pleasant. The grounds are gorgeous. They have a very large water area with fountains in it and a walking trail. They have a number of different meeting rooms and a library. Every day they have different activities going on. They also have trips. "
