"Benchmark Senior Living at Hamden is a very lovely place. It meets all my needs, such as nursing care, transportation, and access to food. However, the question is finances and if it fits into my budget. I saw the one-bedroom. It was very nice and certainly suitable for someone who needs a one-bedroom. The staff member who gave the tour was lovely and very accommodating. The physical appearance was wonderful."

"As a Deacon at First Congregational Church Cromwell, I work with the activities director to provide an ecumenical service for residents. The staff has been wonderful in providing a clean, beautiful and peaceful setting for the service as well as publicizing the monthly service. We have been provided with internet access so that our service can utilize modern technology in servicing the residents. Residents seem pleased with the service and often talk positively about other activities and experiences that have ben made available to them."

"I visited coachman square with my mother a week ago. This community is incredible! Everyone interacted with each other. The staff is amazing and caring. I spoke to one of the residents and she raved about the place. She had visited several places before she picked coachman and she knew this was her place to move to. They are redoing the interior with new carpet and updated furniture in September. We ate lunch and the food was completely fresh. The dining director came out to meet us and he explained the menu, diets and what he would do to help my mother with her diet restrictions. Leslie, who toured us was knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile! She answered every question we had. She showed us 2 apartments and they are huge! Bigger than all of the other places we went. The bathrooms are big and my mom will have no problem with wheelchair access. She introduced us to the executive director who has been there for many years. She was so wonderful. She also answered questions we had. They have a robust calendar of activities. They also have outings to museums, Mohegan sun, pet therapy, and exercise programs related to specific areas like arthritis and other conditions. They are going to have support groups once a month soon. The place is clean and inviting. Pricing is inexpensive for what you get! I am definitely going to bring mom here. She was so excited! Thank you Leslie and her staff for being so warm and welcoming"

"I toured Charter Senior Living of Woodbridge. It was a good experience. However, at that time, they didn't have enough staff. They were in the process of redoing the whole place, so there were a few little glitches about the staff. The food was good though. The rooms were really nice and big. The upkeep of the place was OK."

"I tried to keep my husband Rich home for as long as possible. He was a 72 year old when things started getting very hard to manage. Finding Maplewood at Orange has given Rich a new lease on life. He is thriving there. Everyone from the top down has given Rich their all. It is very easy to get in touch with management and they get back to you immediately. The community is extremely clean. The food is delicious. The numerous activities are geared towards all interests. The grounds are beautiful. When my daughters, grand daughter, and grand dog and I visit we all feel we are part of the family. Everyone who works there knows our names and is so welcoming and inviting. I am so thankful for Maplewood at Orange."

"Charter Senior Living of Orange is absolutely beautiful. It has plenty of options for what kind of room, how much care you need, and how big a place you need. However, it was a little over the budget at the time, with what Mom wanted to spend or what she was expecting, so it was a bit of a sticker shock, and so Mom kind of got cold feet with the whole thing. The people who were running the tour were great. They were fine. They did a great job. They showed us everything we needed to see and told us everything we needed to find out. The place was only a couple of years old; it was just a great place."

"The Village at Kensington Place is big enough, but it's not humongous. The memory care unit has a fabulous setup. The rooms are clean. The food was great. I thought it was a really nice place. The people seemed very caring. The girl who was going to do the tour had something come up, and she asked if I would mind going with the head chef. The chef was wonderful. They sent me home with a fresh loaf of freshly baked cranberry bread and it was fabulous. They had an outdoor space in the back of the building. They have two other little areas where they can go outside."

"I toured Crescent Point at Niantic. The gentleman who walked us around took all the time we needed. I think it was at least an hour and a half. He was very pleasant, very knowledgeable, and very passionate about what they did and their community. It was well-designed, easy to get around, and well-maintained. It was impressive. Somebody unfortunately passed away or left, and they just completely gut and redid the room. Once somebody leaves, they completely gut it down to the frame and start all over again, including the floor."

"One of the wonderful things about the memory care unit is that it is so spacious that the residents feel like they have enough room to stretch their legs and feel that they have freedom within the safety of the unit. The rooms are set up like a suite with apartment doors that allow for privacy. My mom loves the food and the staff and tells me this every time I visit. There are always activities and parties going on for her and i (as her welcomed guest)to enjoy. I never worry about my mom because every time that I visit I find her smiling and happy. Atria provides a professional and caring atmosphere that my mom thrives in. I am very grateful to the Atria Crossroads staff for the love and support they show my mom."

"I toured Carriage Green at Milford. The tour was fine. I thought it was really excellent. They have everything you ever need. The staff showed me three different rooms. The two 1-bedrooms were perfect. I wasn't interested in the studios, but the other two rooms were very large. They were certainly enough for one person and lots of storage. It was an excellent place. We went into the dining room. She explained everything to me, which was very nice. I thought that you had to have meals at a certain time every day, but that was not the case. Their restaurant was open all day, and you can eat when you want to. She also showed me the game room, the TV room, the conference room, the ice cream parlor, and the library. The staff was very nice. Even the people living there were very nice. When we walked through, they were very friendly. It was my first visit to that type of facility, and I was very impressed with it. I just have a lot of considerations, and I'm really not quite ready yet."

"The Residence at Ferry Park is very beautiful and well-kept, with lots of natural light. I toured their memory care and saw an apartment there. I did not get to sample any of their food, but I'm sure it's good because they have a very nice menu. The staff and the people are very friendly, very attentive, and very nice."

"It was our good fortune to be able to have our mother move into Long Hill Home as her memory issues became too advanced for us to care for her safely in her home. A beautiful residence that looks and feels just like a single family home, but with attentive 24/7 care. Excellent meals, well appointed rooms. Everything designed to provide calm and professional care and a safe and welcoming environment. I can't say enough about the staff and care she received. She was happy and loved. We appreciated that we were always welcome there.
