"The staff was extremely helpful in locating my friend. She had been a patient for only a few days and therefore was released by the time I had visited. The staff led me to her previously occupied room to show me she was gone, and were helpful in directing me to other areas of the facility, such as the room where my daughter would be performing with her dance class for a Christmas program. "My wife was at Apple Rehab. The facility was much improved because of the new ownership. They had good nursing staff. The rooms were cleaned everyday. I ate there once in awhile. They just charged an amount if you wanted to be served with the same food as the residents. They had a good selection on their menu. It was an excellent facility and I would definitely recommend it. "

"I've been to Gladeview Rehabilitation & Health Care Center and I loved it. I hated to leave. I was very happy there. They were very nice. Everybody was very kind. They help you if you need help. When you push the button, somebody would come and would take care of you. They're very attentive to my needs. I was there for a little bit because that's all my insurance would allow, but I would've loved to have stayed longer. Everybody was great. I have no complaints. They had somebody that came in and sang every Wednesday and they had bingo on Saturdays. I don't really know what else because I was recuperating. I was really not in any shape to be going down and participating in what they had, but they had a big list of things that they had on the back of the door when you went in, so you could read and see which day they had what on. The price was the same as any other one would have. I would go back there in a heartbeat. I wouldn't even consider looking at any place else for myself because I was that pleased with them."

"My mother is in a memory care unit at Madison House Care and Rehabilitation Center. We chose this community because it is so much closer to our home. The facility is bright and airy, and the staff is extremely caring. The building is situated around a central courtyard, which is open to all the residents there. The staff has been fantastic and answered all our questions. They have been so helpful and they seem to take good care of my mom. They have a hairdresser and a barber that comes in, but right now they can't because they have a couple of cases of COVID. They have singalongs and they have people come in and entertain. They've got my mom listening back to books on tape again, which is good for her. She likes to sing, so they come up to her and somebody will just start singing a song and if she knows it, she'll join in. It keeps her from yelling help all the time. They have a patio courtyard that's got flowering trees and flowers. I've taken my mom out there a couple of times. The facilities have been great. She has a double room and it's shared, but they're good-sized rooms. Each has a private bath. They have nice wide halls so she can wheel herself around in her wheelchair and they're encouraged to hang out. The nurses love it when they hang out at the nurse's station and interact."

"Watrous is an often overlooked facility along the shoreline and it shouldn't be. It might not be brand-new or even recently redecorated, but the staff is truly caring and the patients really do receive excellent care. There is a great sense of the staff working together as "team players" in caring for the patients. I would recommend Watrous for both short-term and long-term care. "

"My father went into Cobalt Lodge for issues stemming from late stage Alzheimers. The staff were wonderful. From the nurses to the aides all the caregivers were kind, courteous and hardworking. We really didn't want Dad to be "in a home" but were very happy with the care and compassion he was given at Cobalt Lodge. The place isn't fancy or new but it is clean. We were looking for a place that had a good feeling and this one seemed to be the best at first. Fortunately, Cobalt Lodge turned out to be the best choice we could have made for Dad and for us. A family atmosphere. "

"Apple Rehab in Guilford is a very good option along the shoreline. The staff, in all departments, is professional and caring. A high percentage of the them have been employed at this facility for many years and that speaks volumes about the work environment. Overall, the atmosphere is very positive and the care is very, very good "

"My mother (unfortunately) has been cared for at Apple Rehab in Middletown three times in the last two years and she receives the best care there. I can't say enough good things about them. The staff is friendly and efficient, the facility is clean and never has that awful nursing-home "odor." The only criticism I have is the lack of security. Anyone can walk in the front door and stroll down any of the hallways without staff blinking an eye.There is no sign-in or even a locked door. But other than that, we are very happy with the care she receives at this place. My mother was sent to a different nearby facility first last year and we had her moved from there to Apple just as soon as we could and reported that place to whomever we could think of. "

"My mother is a long term resident at Bride Brook. She is loved by the staff and well cared for. Our family has very few concerns about her care but when we do, we feel comfortable discussing them with the staff and we feel confident that our concerns are being addressed . The staff is wonderful; kind, compassionate and caring. The facility is always clean and the food is good. When we visit (which is often), our mother is HAPPY. That speaks volumes about the care that she is receiving. It is never easy to make the decision to leave your loved ones in someone else's care but we have no regrets about choosing Bride Brook. We are a grateful family. "

"My sister-in-law is at The Guilford House. I've been there many times, it's a very nice place. They're very caring and it's convenient to Route 1. The place is very nice, they take good care of her, and we are very pleased. The staff is very, very caring and they like my sister-in-law. Everybody is very attentive to her so we're very happy about that. The food is very good and their chefs are good. It's an older facility but it's very clean, it's just a little tired-looking and needs a little redecorating. They have entertainment, things like trivia games, ice cream social, there's a whole lot going on. I saw some women sitting there and knitting or they just get together and chitchat. Because they're short-staffed, they can't spend as much personal time with her. The furniture and some of the stuff are a little dated, nothing is torn or dirty, but they need to update and buy some new things. None of this is inexpensive, but she's getting a lot here compared to other facilities where she's paying way more than what she's paying here."

"Albeit, when it came time to put my grandfather into the facility, he was at a point where communal activities were out of the question, but they provided many opportunities for the residents to meet on a daily basis. The staff were very friendly and worked well to meet our family's needs for my grandfather. It is regrettable however, the choices they seemed to make with roommates. He was in an unhealthy state when first brought to the facility, but his roommate was far beyond that in health. It wasn't exactly inspiring for him, neither were the tiny and prison like, looking out to a brick wall. Also they didn't have a good place for many of the residents to congregate near their living spaces. If they wanted to come out to talk to other residents their wheel chairs blocked up the halls. Placement of the building was quite strange since it is in the busy downtown area there is limited space to park when you arrive. You are all but forced to park on the side of the building and walk the road around the building to get in. The care for the seniors is great, but the experience in visiting isnt. "
