Platinum Care Homes was created by two health care providers who are twin sisters, best friends and share a lifelong passion for providing quality care to others. Dr. Valeri Walker, MD is a physician of anesthesia and Lauren Walker, OTR/L is an occupational therapist specializing in mental health. As a doctor and occupational therapist, we know what it takes to provide care to seniors. We are so excited to provide a quality, care-focused, professional home to serve the needs of the aging and/or disabled population in the Tucson area. Personal Care: Prior to welcoming your loved one to our care home, we meet with each resident and family member(s) to address their unique needs and develop a plan of care based on their individual preferences. Personal Care can include all levels of assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, and mobility. Hospice Care, Medical Supplies, Home Health, Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy services are provided through outside licensed organizations. Medication Management: Medication management and administration, according to each physicians’ orders, is extremely important to us. We aim to get the right dose of the right medication to the right resident at the right time…every time! We avoid unnecessary errors with proper training and emphasis on attention to details. Our medications are safely locked away and accounted for at shift changes. Our caregivers can also take vital signs if they notice a status change in our residents and they are certified in Basic Life Support (CPR) and first aid practices. Wellness Program: A mind and body need proper nourishment to remain healthy. Our aim is to provide tasty, fresh, well-balanced meals three times a day and offer healthy snacks between meals. Meals are served together with others to create social opportunities for our residents. Our caregivers provide daily activities such as games, crafts and festive seasonal activities to stimulate the mind and promote a sense of community and well being.
