We visited St James Manor while in the Kenosha region looking at places for our uncle to live. The outer exterior appeared nicely maintained. The grounds were easy to navigate and nicely landscaped, with tree-lined walkways and plenty of seating areas. This facility can accommodate a variety of ambulation levels and as a resident's needs change, care can be shifted. The community rooms were nicely designed for activities like reading, card and other games, exercise, crafting, and other events and stimulating meetings. The fitness center offers regular exercise classes with instruction as needed, in addition to the well maintained equipment. The seniors also enjoy walking around the lovely courtyard. The private units were well designed, efficient and yet still spacious.The generous spaces were beautifully decorated with lots of fresh air and light. The outside activities feature many interesting cultural events in Rockford -- which hosts music and art gatherings regularly. There was also a large auditorium for interesting group events. The food on the menus looked very appetizing and healthy for all kinds of diets. The dining room was spacious with nice furnishings. The meals we saw smelled and looked delicious. Healthy snacks were also offered often and whenever requested. This is a well-designed living environment for seniors with everything that the residents need to live well. The staff actively sees that the seniors are content, with their kindness and caring.
