"My father is at The Bay at Sheridan Health and Rehabilitation Center. What I like the most is the staff. They give me minimum weekly updates on how he's doing even if it's just to say he's doing okay and there's no change. The chaplain services there are great. They work very closely with hospice care, so as far as end-of-life planning, families aren't left in the dark. What I like least about them is that they're not updated. You can tell it was made in the 1990s, but it's a clean facility. With regards to the staff, I understand that nursing is not an easy field to be in, so given their workload, I'd say they're outstanding. However, In the main hallway, they have this big sunlight, and when the sun is overhead in the summer, it acts like a greenhouse and it gets way too hot."

"The building got a face lift!!! It’s being updated and remolded. They do Omelette day for residents, Bingo, celebration and education for other cultures. They have bilingual staff members. Staff is very friendly and go out their way for their residents and family!"

"St. Joseph's Home and Rehabilitation Center was a really good place. My dad had to go there for rehab. It was very clean, the help was wonderful, and everybody seems to love their job. They were probably the most caring place my dad has ever been to. My dad said the food was really good and he liked it a lot. It was just a great place. "

"We tried to get my mom into Ridgewood Care Center, but the facility where she is now wouldn't budge. The staff was fantastic. The food was good -- everything was good. She was comfortable there. They were very helpful and courteous. They answered every question I had about my mom, and they took care of her very well. The rooms were nice. They had their own TV and stuff. Nice dining room, and they had birds in the sitting room; it was a gorgeous place. When I did go down there, they had events, and they were out in the dining area. They were playing music, and they brought people in. It was clean and nice, they were very good with my mother, and the staff was very nice. In general, everything was nice. "

"Rolling Hills Manor is a medical nursing care facility that is attached to the Rolling Hills Place. It looked really good. It looked like they had enough staff. They were having some group activities during my visit. The staff to resident ratio looked adequate. It smelled good, and it looked clean. "

"Right now my mother is at Lincoln Village – a skilled nursing facility. Mom was taken there directly from the hospital where she had surgery. We go there every day to see how she is doing. They keep the facility nice and clean and you can have either a private or a semi-private room. The food has been good. She needs to have special pureed foods and they have been doing that very well for her. Everybody is very pleasant, but it takes a little bit of a time when she rings a buzzer to get somebody to come in there and that is the only negative thing that we found. They have musical programs and then they have card games. They also have church services and several different events. They have a calendar of events that they publish each month. She is starting to enjoy a few of those things that she can get to. "

"My mom was in The Gardens of Mount Pleasant. The best I liked about them was the fact that the people came out and they paid attention. They do their round and they take vitals and they're off doing their job. And those people are more alert, but they are still doing vitals and doing their job. And they were the ones who discovered my mom was sicker than anyone knew from her coming from the facility in Kenosha. They don't even have a constant on-site nurse, but they knew enough to keep their job done and go beyond. My mom never complained about their food. She likes it there. On the outside, it was just as beautiful as the inside and well-kept. And they had hand sanitizer. When you first walked into a room, it was just as big as the other place. They didn't have two residents there. It's only her room, you go straight in, and she had a bed to the right, a dresser, and the TV. And then on the left was a nice chair she sat in. There was a big, nice window where she could see a view, and a nice yard. I believe they had everyday things like bingo. I know with the itinerary that was given out, that was pretty full. They have something every day for their residents."

"The facility is quite dated. But after my mom was there a month I realized their focus was not updating and looking state of the art, but on the quality of care. It was obvious the staff really care for the patients. Yes there were times it took a bit when she needed something. But when 10 people need something someone is first and someone is last. Every time we had an issue that needed to be addressed they resolved it quickly. Administration department isn’t too on the ball. Quite disorganized. In her last 24 hours we stayed by her bedside, and were treated very well. Asked if we could have a private room and were accommodated. They brought us a small diner, tray of snacks later as well as coffee and water to help get us through the night. After she had passed the next morning, I can’t tell you how many of the staff came to pay their respects. A few even kissed her on the forhead with tears. They are a staff that I would want taking care of me."

"My friend is at Oak Ridge Care Center. There is nothing in particular that I don't like about the place. The facility itself is very clean. The people there are very concerned about my friend's well-being. I think that he is treated very well. I notice that they treat the other residents very well. They're very responsive to his needs. They're very responsive to me if I have questions. They always contact me if there's any change, such as medication or any appointments that maybe they have made for you. There's very good communication between the staff members there. The food looks very appetizing and is a well-balanced meal. My friend has never complained about the food. He said that it's very good. They have several activities every day available for them if they choose to participate. It's a pleasant environment. There are no people laying around the hallway, and no one is yelling or screaming for help. I wouldn't say it's a new building, but it's not old. The layout seems pretty nice. My friend is getting what he's paying for."

"When I visited The Pavillion I realized how clean the facility was and how helpful everyone was. They answered all of my questions and actually cared!! I would definitely recommend it."

"My wife was at Victory Lakes for her rehab but she passed away last April. The food was fine. The service was excellent. She got to know most of the people there and they took expert care of her. They were very attentive to her to meet her needs. It was just a very pleasant experience. "
