Nursing Home Communities in Lindenhurst, IL

"I'm a preschool teacher and I work in the same building as Libertyville Manor. It is a beautiful facility on a 10-acre land. They take good care of their seniors there. Everything is in-house and they even have a physical therapist onsite. Their residents have a daily schedule to follow. We have a program in the daycare that aims to close in the generational gap. So we take the kids up there and play games with their residents. There is really a lot of interaction between the seniors and they have plenty of things to do there, which is nice. We see them watching TV or playing games. We have our picnic in Libertyville Manor just recently and we invited all of their families and all of our families. They also have a nursing care, so when their seniors get too sick for assisted living, they just go over to a different wing. "

"I visited Winchester House as a part of a company sponsored event and the first thing I notice was that the residents seemed really happy. The facility was exceptionally clean for a government run facility. I usually can not stand the smell of assisted living and nursing home facilities and Winchester House is an exception to this issue. The place did not carry an overwhelming odor. I had a good day socializing with the residents and I was there for lunch and the food looked and smelt appetizing. The food did not remind me of hospital food and was actually well made and well presented. The residents were very social and the worker were friendly. I observed the interaction between residents and caregivers and I saw a caring and responsive relationship. My overall view is that this is one of the best ran and best kept facilities in IL. I am especially surprised as I have visited many facilities in the IL. "

"Rolling Hills is very nice, but their rooms are a bit small, and they don’t have a room with a double bathroom. The staff is excellent. The dining rooms are several clusters at the end of the hallways. They have it all, from independent living to skilled nursing. "

"It’s almost been a year since my dad moved into Pavilion of Waukegan. It’s an older facility and small. They have activities for the residents, like group participation and physical therapy. Every resident is well taken care of. Their services are pretty good as well. "

"My parents are both in Glenlake Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The staff are nice, courteous and they really take wonderful care of my parents. I'm comfortable with them there. I just wish this place had tiered levels of care. Right now, I'm looking for a facility that is a nursing home as well as an assisted living. Because the problem is with my father. He's still coherent, he really doesn't need to be in a nursing home. He needs more of an assisted living. It's lonely and depressing for him because nobody there is in the same capacity as he is, but my mother definitely needs a nursing home. She cannot walk and she's very heavy. "

"The staff at Grande Prairie Health and Rehabilitation Center is very kind and very caring. My mom is currently there and the facility itself is clean. They're very good at what they do and very down to earth. The folks that work there seem like they've been there a while, and their rehab staff seems very knowledgeable. They'll just tell you what's going on without any placating or patronizing you. So, it's nice to hear that. They're very professional and they can handle anything. Your food depends on what diet you're on. They coordinate accordingly, and it can feel very restrictive, but you can negotiate if you want, and that's what my mom had to do. She said she had dried up eggs and very little protein and was not happy. They had her on a low salt heart diet, but she was able to negotiate with them kind of away from that a little bit and put her on a better diet. She gets more protein now, not just dried-up eggs. They have rehab on one side and then a nursing home on the other. They also can go outside and there's a place for everyone."

"I already placed my father in Grove at the Lake. It’s very clean. It is in the area where my father is. They have 5 nurses for every shift. They are very attentive to their patients. They personalize and they call everybody by their first names to make them feel warm and welcome, so it is very good. He has only been there for about a week now, but everything so far is great. "

"I had both of my parents at Wauconda Care. It was excellent all the way down with regards to their care, service, food, and communication. "

"My mother-in-law only stayed at Manorcare of Libertyville for 3 weeks, but they took very nice care of her, and they seemed to do very good for her. It was clean, and they were very attentive to our needs. I had no complaint, and they complied with everything. You could have alternative things if you didn't like what was on the menu, so that was good that you had a different option in case. I would definitely recommend it. "

"The caregivers, nursing staff and administration is very caring and considerate of our loved ones while at Claridge. I felt good about my mother's care there and they were very aware of her health. She had a small infection and fever and they were right on top of it and dealt with it. She was happy there and kept clean and healthy. Would recommend this residence. It does look like it needs updating and decorating but to me her care was more important. "

"The rooms are nice. My brother was in a 2 bedroom with a bathroom and another gentleman. The meals are good and the staff is extra nice and friendly. They have activities every day and the residents seem to enjoy what exercise they get. My brother had severe memory loss. We were advised to have hospice take over at just the right time. They took care of arranging for hospice and it worked out very well. We are Catholic and volunteers from a church in Libertyville came with communion and said the rosary regularly. Our brother was on medicaid and he was always treated with respect and kindness. Our brother passed away in September, 2022."

"My aunt moved to Alden Terrace of Mchenry Rehab. The place is welcoming. The rooms are clean and spacious. Everyone that I've had communication and contact with has been great. They do bingo, karaoke, and entertainment. The dining room is large and warm, and the food is good. It's affordable."

"I'm currently living in St. Joseph Villa inside St. Joseph's Homes and Rehabilitation Center. I chose them because of the price. They provide options for the food: you can cook for yourself or you can have your food brought directly from the nursing home to your apartment, either way it's good. But I cook for myself, I like it that way. The nursing home is gigantic. The people are very, very nice and there are a lot of activities. "
