"I toured Cantata Adult Life Services. What I liked best was that it was very nice and modern. There's nothing I didn't like. Everyone was helpful, and I spoke with several people who were very nice. The facility was very clean and nice. It was a good place. The layout was nice, and the size of the rooms was good. They were big rooms."

"Lake Forest is lovely but expensive. The staff is very friendly, and I have friends who lived there and loved it. The rooms were very nice but small. The food was good, and the dining area was very attractive. "

"The caregivers, nursing staff and administration is very caring and considerate of our loved ones while at Claridge. I felt good about my mother's care there and they were very aware of her health. She had a small infection and fever and they were right on top of it and dealt with it. She was happy there and kept clean and healthy. Would recommend this residence. It does look like it needs updating and decorating but to me her care was more important. "

From her first day she was treated with respect, sensitivity and empathy by what was clearly a quality and well trained and directed staff. "My wife is in Manorcare of Libertyville. It's a nursing home with 24-hour care. We've had a good experience with this place. She's been in and out before, so we knew what we were getting, and the staff is fantastic. Everybody knows their names and is on a first name basis. The food is fine, and it's close to home. The building is three stories. The first floor is for short-term care patients, second floor is a little bit longer, and the third floor is long-term care. My wife is on the second floor. There's quite a few activities going on. We've been to bingo, ice cream socials, and Halloween parades. They look out for the patients pretty well. The only problem sometimes is people have to realize that when they put their light on, the staff does not come right to them, but they come in and keep you informed of how long they'll be, then come back when they say they will. It's very good. The facility is laid out really well. On the second floor, there are two lounges where the people can go to eat and there's a large dining area that they use for games and other things. Each floor has designated areas for activities. I have seen no problems there at all. We're very happy with them."

"My mom is now at Warren Barr Lincolnshire. It was the closest proximity between my home and the hospital that she was visiting. It's clean and very professional. It offers transportation to and from the facility to her doctor's appointments. The nurses are very courteous when we went to see it. The front desk staff are very nice. They're courteous and professional. They call me and give me updates. They're very on top of things. They're great. With food, my mom doesn't care for everything, but she's also a little picky. I don't know much about their activities because my mom is legally blind, so she can't participate in those things. But from what I've read, they offer wonderful activities for seniors there. They've got a beautiful atrium. They've got a nice little backyard. They take her outside in the wheelchair to get some fresh air. They even offer a hair salon, which is very nice. Medicare pays for her stay there."

"I visited Winchester House as a part of a company sponsored event and the first thing I notice was that the residents seemed really happy. The facility was exceptionally clean for a government run facility. I usually can not stand the smell of assisted living and nursing home facilities and Winchester House is an exception to this issue. The place did not carry an overwhelming odor. I had a good day socializing with the residents and I was there for lunch and the food looked and smelt appetizing. The food did not remind me of hospital food and was actually well made and well presented. The residents were very social and the worker were friendly. I observed the interaction between residents and caregivers and I saw a caring and responsive relationship. My overall view is that this is one of the best ran and best kept facilities in IL. I am especially surprised as I have visited many facilities in the IL. "

"My sister will move into Elevate Care Riverwoods. I liked the cleanliness, and it smelled good. Everything was fine. It's close to our house. They have the activities that they said they provide, the meals, the accommodations, and the rooms, and everything was very nice. The staff was fine and informative and understood what I needed. This isn't quite as nice a place, but it's good. It's more of a hospital-like feel. They talked of games that they play, the interactions, and getting the people out of their rooms and engaging with other people."

"My parents are both in Glenlake Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The staff are nice, courteous and they really take wonderful care of my parents. I'm comfortable with them there. I just wish this place had tiered levels of care. Right now, I'm looking for a facility that is a nursing home as well as an assisted living. Because the problem is with my father. He's still coherent, he really doesn't need to be in a nursing home. He needs more of an assisted living. It's lonely and depressing for him because nobody there is in the same capacity as he is, but my mother definitely needs a nursing home. She cannot walk and she's very heavy. "

"My wife is at Thrive of Lake County. I would recommend them. So far, they've been good because she refuses to take any type of therapy, but they have coaxed her into it somehow or another, and they keep me abreast by telephone calls about what she's doing, what she's not doing, and things like that. She doesn't eat, but they keep bribing her to eat and stuff like that. It's a brand spanking new building that opened this year. Their exercise room is quite large. They have a lot of different types of machines. I haven't had the privilege to see the rooms other than the lounges with the TV. I'm going to keep her there. It's less than 10 miles from my house."

"I came to Whitehall of Deerfield after spending 11 days in the ICU at a nearby hospital. Whitehall was recommended by a few people close to me and I chose this place because of that. I couldn't have made a better decision as this place has gone above and beyond taking care of all my healthcare needs. I have been here for nearly a month and not only have I been healing physically but with Whitehall's assistance mentally as well. This is in no small part to the continuous care that I have been provided. They have house doctors on call, day and night attentive nursing care, plus CNA's covering all my basic needs around the clock. On top of this I see a countless number of therapists: physical, occupational, speech, respiratory, and wound care. Coupled with all this is their full-service kitchen including a dietician maintaining my now healthy eating habits while also providing recommendations for when I return home shortly. From being bed bound and physically unable to walk to now just about ready to walk out the door Whitehall of Deerfield has been a saving grace for me. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Whitehall in no small part to the extraordinary general and personalized care offered to me. What more can I say but emphatically praise the entire staff at Whitehall of Deerfield and give this place a solid 5 stars. I could not have made a better choice and one that has provided me a solid road to complete recovery and a new outlook and lease on life."
