Nursing Home Communities in Union Grove, WI

"We tried to get my mom into Ridgewood Care Center, but the facility where she is now wouldn't budge. The staff was fantastic. The food was good -- everything was good. She was comfortable there. They were very helpful and courteous. They answered every question I had about my mom, and they took care of her very well. The rooms were nice. They had their own TV and stuff. Nice dining room, and they had birds in the sitting room; it was a gorgeous place. When I did go down there, they had events, and they were out in the dining area. They were playing music, and they brought people in. It was clean and nice, they were very good with my mother, and the staff was very nice. In general, everything was nice. "

"Mom is getting rehab there and absolutely loves it. She is actually gaining weight now because she loves the food so much"

"My mother went to Brookside Care Center for rehabilitation. It's clean and things were in good working order. She liked the people that work there, but because it was a rehab center and a nursing home/assisted living, the building was very big and sprawling. It was hard to find her way around at first, but we figured it out. The staff seemed friendly and attentive, but there was a situation where I didn't feel like people were listening to me. The dining area seemed nice. I liked that they had big containers of water with fruit or vegetables inside to make it like flavored water. Everybody could drink it."

"Lovely place. Since the new management took over things have gotten a lot better. The therapy is amazing. food is decent. The place looks very nice as well and they gave me a private room in the short term wing. "

"Waters Edge Rehab and Care Center is quite a large place and they offer full range of care in PT, OT, podiatry, dentistry, psychology, and eye care. They are going to be under new management and they will be updating some things in their place. It was an older place, but their food is good and they're very helpful and nice to their patients."

"Tudor Oaks Senior Living Community was very nice. They had very nice facilities. It was upgraded and secured with modern amenities. They had a swimming pool, a fitness room, a theater, an outdoor area, a barbecue area, and grills. The staff members were very well informed and took the time with us. They had adequate things to do."

"Clairidge House is an older nursing home and my father-in-law is there. The rehab is really good and that's what he needs right now so he's going to be in there for about five or six weeks. The rooms are not very big. "

"My great-aunt was at this facility. The staff was very caring and on top of all her needs as well as supporting the rest of the family. This is an older, smaller facility but the care out weighs the the looks. During the covid pandemic, the staff was very caring and did everything possible to keep us informed and involve with my aunt. The administrator even bought cell phones and an ipad so we could see our aunt virtually and talk to her during quarantine. The residents loved to play bingo, listen to the music entertainment and the christmas party was amazing, with the help of the community. The therapy dept was great. The beautiful patio over looks the lake. & if we weren't there to take my aunt outside, the staff did. I would highly recommend."

"The building got a face lift!!! It’s being updated and remolded. They do Omelette day for residents, Bingo, celebration and education for other cultures. They have bilingual staff members. Staff is very friendly and go out their way for their residents and family!"

"I'm currently living in St. Joseph Villa inside St. Joseph's Homes and Rehabilitation Center. I chose them because of the price. They provide options for the food: you can cook for yourself or you can have your food brought directly from the nursing home to your apartment, either way it's good. But I cook for myself, I like it that way. The nursing home is gigantic. The people are very, very nice and there are a lot of activities. "

"My father is at The Bay at Sheridan Health and Rehabilitation Center. What I like the most is the staff. They give me minimum weekly updates on how he's doing even if it's just to say he's doing okay and there's no change. The chaplain services there are great. They work very closely with hospice care, so as far as end-of-life planning, families aren't left in the dark. What I like least about them is that they're not updated. You can tell it was made in the 1990s, but it's a clean facility. With regards to the staff, I understand that nursing is not an easy field to be in, so given their workload, I'd say they're outstanding. However, In the main hallway, they have this big sunlight, and when the sun is overhead in the summer, it acts like a greenhouse and it gets way too hot."

"I have been to Willowcrest several times to visit a family friend. She has always appeared to be well cared for and in good spirits. Her room and the common areas that I have seen have always been very clean and in good repair. The staff members that I have interacted with seem very friendly and helpful.The residents seem to get along well and really enjoy each others company. I often see people there playing games together and enjoying themselves. Although I have not eaten there myself, I have been told that the food is quite good and that the residents have several meal choices to choose from. They also will sometimes offer outings and day trips available to the residents whose health will allow them to take part in such things. Overall Willowcrest appears to be a rather nice facility. If and or when the time comes, it would be a place I would feel comfortable placing a family member. "

"My first impression of the facility itself was a positive one. Everything seemed to be clean and organized for the residents. The staff greeted me with a smile as I entered the hallway. I arrived at the time they were about to serve the residents dinner. I took my grandmother to get her meal. She enjoyed what she was eating which made me feel secure about the health of the patients. I also noticed that they had a bulletain board of scheduled activities. My Grandmother also told me she enjoyed them. Overall this residance made me feel comfort and secure that my family member was and would continue to be well taken care of. I have no negative complaints about this place other than since it is a nursing home/ assisted living center, it's not always pleasant to hear some of the folks talk about how lonely they are, but that is sure not the fault of the staff there. I am sure that the staff does as best they can to comfort the residants' feelings. I would recommend this facility for anyone worried about a nursing home for their loved one. "

"My wife has been in Hales Corner Care Center for a little over a month for rehab. It’s a small nursing home with about 63 beds, but it’s very nice compared to the other ones I was familiar with in the past. It’s very good. The staff takes good care of you, are usually pretty fast if you need something, and don’t keep you in your room much. They’re usually in a rec room where they have entertainment, games, and things like that. The dining room is superb. I go there every day for lunch, and the food is good. They have a therapy room, and everything is all on one floor."
