"The staff were very friendly. Everyone seemed very happy, not only the staff but the residents. There are smiles on their faces. Most of them were engaged in an activity. The rooms were nice sized, not overly spacious, but just enough. They had a nice little kitchenette, a nice-sized bedroom, and a bathroom. The dining area looked comfortable. It had tables all setup. The menu looked good and had nice options. It's more like a restaurant. The indoors were very nice. Everything's good and very comfortable. They had mahjong and bingo and one was sitting in the library at that time."

"My friend moved in. They are very patient. Everything worked out for my friend. He likes the place. He is in a studio, and it is kind of an L-shape, so it has lots of windows and light. The dining room is clean and spacious. The food is good.The placed seemed very secure. He goes to church every Sunday, and they take him. I think he is very happy there."

"The Grand at Twin Lakes looked clean and impressed me a lot. If a resident is not a morning person, they have the option to choose lunch and dinner for their food instead. They had activities, nice grounds, a TV room, and a pool, al of which I thought was nice. The person who assisted me was very good and knowledgeable. I saw the residents having lunch, and the food looked good."

"Belmont Village, a corporate chain with a few facilities in Illinois, provides a consistent and reputable product in upscale assisted living. The Glenview facility is located on a main road, geographically convenient for shopping, local hospitals, and businesses. It is located in a safe neighborhood, essentially in a business district. There is limited outdoor space and it is somewhat noisy due to the proximity to Golf Road, but residents and visitors are able to sit outdoors if they wish. The common areas in the building off nicely furnished, tastefully appointed sitting areas with varying degrees of privacy in multiple locations throughout the building, and most visitors choose to visit either in resident apartments or in one of the common areas, such as the bistro or the lobby area. The building, both the common area and the resident apartments, is always well maintained and in a neat and clean condition. Fixtures and furnishings both common areas and in resident rooms are somewhat upscale. Apartments are available in regular assisted living and also in differing dementia care programs that have the goal of being tailored to level of dementia the residents are afflicted with, so that residents are living on a care floor with others of similar functional level. Most apartments are private, single occupancy with a handful of shared or "companion" apartments available. The price points differ with the size of apartment and type of care, whether assisted living or dementia specific, the latter of which Belmont Village terms "Circle of Friends" and "Neighborhood". However, it is noted that there is not a seemingly endless list of a-la-carte add ons at Belmont Village, so the rate one is paying is not so difficult to figure out, and not so subject to fluctuation as at some other assisted livings. The food at Belmont Village is above average in presentation, quality, and taste, and almost always there is something on the menu for nearly everyone. While there is some modest turnover in direct care staff, it is no more than usual at other similar facilities. Most often there is enough staff to meet all resident needs, and care provided is consistently kind, caring and of high quality. "

"I went to look at The Merion. It was nice, as well as the woman who showed it to me, but it was too expensive for me. The place was beautiful, it had a pool, and I liked the place where it's at. It's a beautiful neighborhood. I didn't want to pay that much money for it, and I didn't want to move to the suburbs. The staff member who gave me the tour was wonderful, she was very accommodating, she called me several times, and she's very nice. It's a gorgeous facility."

"My brother initially lived independently at Generations at Oakton Arms but starting in January 2023 had to transferred to Assisted Living because of health issues. As I prepared his room for his return from rehabilitation, I thought how comfortable and clean it was. I have found the director and wellness director particularly responsive to my brother's needs and my requests. If there are issues, I have been able to contact the nursing staff. I am particularly grateful to Tatiana, the receptionist, who is always friendly and helpful beyond what one might expect."

"I visited Gurnee Meadows. They have a lot of things to do. I like it a lot. They were very clean, and people were my age. Every day they had something going on. They had a library, pool tables, and even a beauty shop. They also had a bus that comes every Wednesday on every hour to take them anywhere you want to go on Gurnee. You cook your own meals there. The staff was very nice and very accommodating. For anything you need, you just come and see them. I only met one staff member there, and I like her very much."

"I lived at Beech Pointe for 9½ years. There are many, many wonderful people there. They have different activities, like going on outings. They also have a library, an exercise class, and different Bible studies. Their meals are just wonderful. They have washers and dryers for people to use. The most beautiful factor for this place is that when you walk out the door, someone is always there. "

"Thomas Place is beautiful. The facility is very clean and quiet. It has a lovely lobby with a welcoming feeling in it. The staff were nice and very helpful. I was able to look at one room with two bedrooms in it. The room was very nice and roomy as I've expected. This place is my favorite so far. "

"We will move into Union Court Townhomes. I liked everything - the whole layout, the staff, and the cleanliness. I couldn't find anything that I didn't like. The people knew what they were doing. The whole place seemed really nice. Everything was new and clean, and it had the amenities that I wanted for a place to live."

"After having my mom at several other assisted living facilities, I found Casa Del Mare to be the best and safest. The memory care floor has a secured elevator which stop residents from accidently wandering off. The staff is friendly and residents are offered many different activities. Her room has nice windows for natural light. They also allowed me to bring a large cake for mom's birthday so we could share with the entire floor. "

"I was one of the first to move into Green Oaks, and I have not for a moment regretted my decision. The staff is fantastic; they know everyone by name! The facility is beautiful with lots of public spaces. One can be as social or unsocial as one wishes. All in all, this is a great retirement home."

"Lakefront Residences of Grayslake is a brand new and a great place. It's one of those places that have rooms available and that I don't have to wait six months to a year to get myself into it. "

"Lake Forest is lovely but expensive. The staff is very friendly, and I have friends who lived there and loved it. The rooms were very nice but small. The food was good, and the dining area was very attractive. "
