"The Village at Victory Lakes is comparable in pretty much every way to the respite facility my mom is in. The main thing is that they had a minimum stay that was far greater than what was required of the other place because I don't know how long she's going to be there. So, that lack of flexibility was a problem. There was a variance as far as individual versus shared rooms, and I was not interested in a shared room. As far as the facility goes, the grounds are nice, and the rooms seem nice."

"Home Harbor Racine was one of the better facilities we visited, but the rooms were so small. They had great amenities. I liked everything about it except for the size of the rooms. I would have to get a 2-bedroom in order to get all my furniture in. Sue, the director, tries to help you with everything. It's another facility where when you move in, you don't have to leave. However, they only allow one cat, and I couldn't decide which one of my two cats to get rid of. They have a white elephant sale where you bring stuff out and other people take as much as they want. They have a craft room, a beautician, a healthcare person that comes in, exercise programs, and they have field trips every week to Wal-Mart or the Elmwood Plaza. I loved Sue because she was so informative and she wanted to help me out as much as possible. She gave me the name of the VA representative for funding. She gave me a packet of stuff and she even broke down how much I would pay with or without the funding."

"Gurnee Place Memory Care was friendly and warm. While I was there they had a bingo game and the head of the maintenance department came in and called the bingo, so it was like everyone was working together. They were all very friendly. The chef came out and gave me some banana bread."

"My tour at Bickford of Gurnee was wonderful. I got there and they were doing activities. Abby was the person that I talked with. She took me into a room and she asked me some questions about my father. And then she took me on a tour and I was very pleased. The only thing was it was rather pricey, but I think they all are. But, it was a great experience. The staff was very, very friendly. I'd like to think that this is family-owned and not corporate. She just knew every one of the people that we passed by and she spoke with them. I liked the layout of the rooms and the windows to the courtyard, and they had a courtyard to go out to. It would fit very well with how you would put furniture and stuff like that. They would take the seniors out for activities. They had a string quartet in there yesterday. They would play different games. They had a salon and they had a place where they had church. They had a nice dining room, and they had a van that would take the people out to different places. I liked the place a lot. I felt very welcomed there. The place was beautiful."

"We toured Theresa's Home Care LLC 1. It was very nice. It seemed very clean. It's a home. It's not like an institution. It's not like a facility, so it's homey, and you get that homey feeling. We only really met with Teresa. There were some nurses there, and the dietary people were there, but we didn't meet them. Teresa was very nice, very welcoming, and warm. They do home-cooked meals. We saw them setting the tables and preparing, because it was getting ready to be dinner time. Their outdoor area was beautiful, with a lot of lawn. They had a recreational area downstairs on that first level where they do bingo or card games, puzzles, and things like that. It's like a mansion. I mean, there's like seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms. It's beautiful. The rooms are shared with patients, and I'm not necessarily saying I like that. There is no option for a private room."

"We chose Pine Brook Pointe for my mom. The tour was fine and the facility is fine, clean, and neat. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It seemed alright, but we only had a ten-minute tour. We saw common areas and we got to look at one of the rooms where the resident had just been moved out. It wasn't cleaned up or anything yet, but it was fine."

"I'm in StoryPoint Libertyville and I think it's a beautiful facility. They have a lot of activities, and now that we're coming out of the COVID, you can do more things. The food is fantastic, it's just delicious. I have a studio, it's nice and roomy, and it's big. I have a refrigerator, a kitchenette, two closets, and a lot of furniture in here, and I have a dog. They have a happy hour, there's a choir, and they go on scenic drives on Sunday, they have trips to the stores around here since there are a lot of those in the area. They have al kinds of table games and card games, there's a beautiful billiards room, and they're also redoing it, there's bingo, a walking club, rummy, there's pizza parties, and a lot of things. They're not doing it right now because of COVID, but they do painting projects and things like that. There's a stitching class, there's all kinds of things including exercise classes, they share travelling tips, and videos, and they show movies that you can watch in the room or in the day room where they show the movie. The facility is beautiful; everybody that visits here would say that this is a beautiful place. The value for the money is fantastic."

"The staff here are very polite and professional. I have attended several programs here and have been impressed by the entertainment that is provided to residents and the public. The latest, a barbershop chorus, was excellent. All precautions were followed to keep everyone safe and healthy. Good job everyone!"

"Victory Centre was very nice. It was a large and very attractive community. The food was very good. They allow dogs. It is very nice living for someone who just wants to move into a facility where they don't have to cook, clean, etc., and also it has a nice social life. They have all kinds of programs for people so that they never get bored. "

"The Cornerstone of Oak Creek was the only one that we actually went to. Everyone seemed friendly. They take residents on excursions or outside as well as hold daily activities inside. They had a nice porch out in the back to sit, and a little garden. They had a big dining area, and the rooms were of average size. They had a different variety of rooms, including some two-bedrooms and some singles. We visited a gentleman who’s been there for about six years, and he was pretty happy with the place so that was a good endorsement. "

"Mom is moving here. The rooms are very nice. They have a variety of activities. Three or four times a week, they have something going on like entertainment, bingo, and other activities. The dining area is very nice. It is a large open room with lots of light. There is a library area, an activity room, a gift shop, and a large dining room where they do most of their entertainment. They have laundry service on each floor too."

"The staff at the Heathers Senior Homes of Ringwood were all very helpful. The only thing that stopped us from choosing them was the location of the room. We didn't feel it was conducive for what we were looking for. Everybody was in their room or something, so I didn't see people engaging in anything. I think they just had lunch, so they probably all went for their naps."

"My mother is in Oak Creek Place. The staff has been very helpful and understanding. The food I've eaten there was good. The overall care has been what I would consider to be relatively good in that my mom has incontinence and sometimes they don't get to her soon enough, but for the most part they have been very helpful and patient with her. They have all kinds of activities and a theater. They constantly play games and have family nights and Fridays they have music. The residents are happy. Overall, it's a nice facility."
