"My husband is in assisted living at Regency on Whidbey. I think it's a great community. It's laid out very well, and it's kept very clean and sanitary. The staff is very friendly and efficient. His studio apartment is nice and clean, and it's a private one. It has a kitchenette, a microwave, a refrigerator, and a sink. The dining area is very nice and it's medium-sized. They have activities planned every day. They have bingo, music, they have people that present different subjects, movies, and Wheel of Fortune. Value for money is good. They're all expensive, but for the price, it's kept up and it's maintained very well."

"I found Fields Senior Living at Smokey Point, and I'm moving in next weekend. It's a fabulous place. It is, and they have a lot of amenities. It's set up well, very homey, and the apartments are nice. They're pretty roomy. I got a one-bedroom and it has a little kitchenette, and I'm happy to move in there. They have a refrigerator and a microwave. There's no stove. The alarms are set sensitive and they don't want you to cook too much in there. They have three meals a day. They have a little bistro where you can go at any time, day or night for snacks. There are three floors and they all mirror one another. So, there's a dining room and a pool table in one little area, and they all open to the hallway. They have a TV movie room. It's just set up nicely and, has very easy access to everything. You can have them do your laundry that's extra, or, there's a small laundry room that you can use. It's just I'm really excited. They have transportation to doctors and they take you shopping. There's a mall right across the freeway that has all kinds of stores and stuff. There's a good Mexican restaurant right next door. It's just very handy, there are a lot of medical facilities in the area. The staff was very friendly, she was very knowledgeable and very helpful. The dining room Is served restaurant style. When you walk in, they come in and give you a menu, and check your order, which is kind of nice. It's only a year old, and it smells new. "

"My husband is staying at Avista Ferndale. I visited several ones, and I thought Avista Ferndale was the best for him. I was originally just going to put him in for respite care for one month, but he is declining, and so he is under the care of hospice there also. He is going to be staying there until the end. Avista Ferndale is a good place. They're very good. The personnel are nice. My husband just stays in bed all the time, so he doesn't participate in all the programs they have for them there, but they're taking good care of him. There is one person he is not crazy about, but he loves all the other people. My husband can't eat solid food, so he has soups, and they give him water and juices, and things like that, and they're good. The facility looks nice, too. There are a few things I don't like. They promised to take a big chair out for a long time now, and they haven't. It's kind of crowded in there, but I would say it's good."

"Amazing care and attention from the minute we walked in the door. I refer everyone I know to go there for inpatient rehab services. "

"I am in Skagit Valley Senior Village and I am very much pleased with everything. I choose this because this is the best. They have a monthly calendar for the schedule of activities and they send out weekly calendar for the residents to know what is going on for the week. They have menu for the meals and if ever we didn't like what is on the menu, there is another page with the list of food we can choose from. We have a monthly meeting with the heads of the kitchen and the servers where we can tell them our likes and dislikes on the meals. They also ask about our special meals and allergy because they post them in the kitchen so everyone will know how to prepare the meals for us. There is also a large private dining room, which we can use for special events, but we need to reserve it ahead of time to avoid conflict with the others who wants to use it. The staff takes care of our needs and meet with our once a month. The housekeepers inform us what time they will be in the apartment to clean it. They allow us to use our own beddings and they towels and they wash them with no extra cost as long as they have our names and room numbers. If ever we have visitors from out of town, they can rent a room with meals included for only $100. I really love it here and this is the most reasonably priced place I have ever seen. I am recommending them other 100%. "

"My husband was discharged from the hospital and Helen did not hesitate to take my husband. I am forever grateful to the wonderful loving and caring Staff at Ashley Gardens. It made his stay memorable. He was comfortable in his clean room and environment. He loved the food that he took seconds to think that he is a picky eater. He enjoyed participating their daily activities and the scenic bus rides. A Podiatrist was available for Footcare. Overall I was happy and satisfied with the services that they provided my husband. Again thank you all for a commendable job!"

"My sister-in-law moved to Lilac Gardens Adult Family Home. What I like best is that they only have about four residents there. So, she gets a great deal of personal attention and assistance when she needs it. The staff is great. They're very friendly and they're experienced at handling someone who has memory issues like my sister-in-law. She seems to be pretty happy there and the attendants take good care of her. When we visited yesterday, one of the staff members was African-American and she was teaching me some Swahili. She baked some kind of bread that was like a Swahili recipe. She gave me a piece of that and let me try it. Cleanliness is excellent. I have no issues at all with that. I like the way the building is set up because, for one thing, they have a large fenced-in backyard, so she can go outside whenever she wants to. There is an alarm on the front door so if any of the residents try to leave, it sets off an alarm and one of the attendants is immediately there to take proper action. They have a TV viewing area, like a living room area, where the residents can have the option to meet with their family. They also have a stationary bicycle and some other exercise equipment in the patio area. We took my sister-in-law out yesterday for lunch and when we got back, there were two people who appeared to be musicians of some sort in the recreation area, and they were taking down their equipment, packing up instruments and microphones. She likes to walk and one of the attendants there is always ready if she wants to go for a walk around the neighborhood. Compared to where she was previously, she is getting excellent care at Lilac Gardens Adult Family Home. I like it."

"Our Mom has lived in Mt Glen Assisted living for 6 months and will now be there on hospice care. She loves the food, the gardens, the frequent music activities, the weekly ice cream socials and her room. He only complaint is that it is fancies than she has been used to in her life. She has received excellent care from the aids and nursing staff and have zero complaints about her care. We have worked well with the administrative and billing staff and noted that even the servers in the dining room always remembered food she liked, that she wanted no ice in her cool drinks and the she loves coco on cool days. We have been very happy with the entire facility and they are well rated by the state licensing teams, having had a perfect survey this year. They deserve five stars! "

"My brother-in-law is at The Bridge at Mount Vernon. It's been excellent. He's been there for a year and a half now, and he's very happy after having a really tough time. The staff is very caring. The rooms are nice."

"I liked La Conner Retirement Inn because it was smaller. It was very congenial. We had lunch there, and the food was quite good. I liked the way the market team and the other staff seemed to respond to the people in the hallways. I liked that they didn't have a set time to eat. You could go within the 2 hour period of time. It was more like a little restaurant. They had one entrance, and I thought they had 60 rooms. It was three stories high. They a room where they had some kind of craft, but I don't know what they were, and I thought they had card game. They had a baby piano, and I knew that people played the piano maybe once a week or so. It was out in the country, so they would have a bus or shuttle tour out into the country area on Sundays. From what I saw, I don't really think I had anything to say that needed to improve on because it was the only one that I saw that I really liked. You had service in your room, and you weren't separated out. Both assisted and independent living were in the same place, taking part of everything in the same way. It wasn't segregated. If I needed that type of service or a placement, that's the one I would choose. "

"My mother is at Josephine Caring Community. Right now, she's in long-term care. She's also been in the rehab portion of it. The staff is very good. She's sharing a room, and the only downside is that they got them crammed into a room, which seems a little too tight. Otherwise, I think they take good care of them. The food is in the middle of the road, not great, not terrible. It has a very friendly atmosphere. The facility is well cared for. It's a great place for someone with advanced illnesses, with the correct amount of care for those."

"My mom moved into Mt Baker Care Center & Summit Place Assisted Living yesterday. The staff is fabulous. They are very helpful and friendly. The place is small, but it is homey and very down to earth. The room is very, very large from what I was expecting. It is clean and totally set up. It has a dining room, an activity room, and van services. One thing unusual about this place is that it has an onsite daycare and preschool. When it is not COVID, the senior centered people can go and read stories or do things like that in there. It is built as a sort of a multigenerational assisted living facility; but they have the usual activities, like bingo, trivia, and movie nights. The group votes on field trips that they want to take, so the activity list is sort of member run. It is also a good value for the money. It is a little bit on the cheaper end of the places in Bellingham."

"We had my father at Selah Family Home when we had a vacation for a few weeks. They have six spacious bedrooms and the residents have their meals in a family atmosphere. They have a day room with a television. They also have two or three nurses caring for them. The owners are very nice people and very helpful. The food is great and home cooked. They have a Christian atmosphere. The place is clean. "
