I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom was a resident for several years. Staff obviously overworked. But over the years they have always had the dodgiest Office Managers. Even after my mom's death. I was sent a check for $800 due to an audit. I thought it was a mistake so I didn't cash the check and couldn't get a hold of anyone so I forgot about it. I was contacted by Kristy. Told check was good, just bring it back and we'll give you a new one. Two months later..nothing. Don't trust them!

Life Care Center has provided rehabilitation services for my spouse for the past several weeks. The program of physical, occupation, and speech therapy is excellent. The staff, including nursing, CNAs, administration, and right down to the amazing maintenance staff is professional and very kind. The only negative is the TV system. The current TV system requires updating with more choice. There is no PBS, no MSNBC, no music channels, but lots of Fox Nooz.

This facility struggles with chronic understaffing. It has been a problem for years. The call lights will go unanswered for at least 16 minutes because there is not enough staff. It’s sad, you can hear people calling out for help too. The managers say they do call light tracker audits that show under 5 minutes. All that is, a piece of paper that staff wrote how long it took, of course they are not gonna write 16 minutes. Very sad.

I am/was a resident of this facility

Amazing care and attention from the minute we walked in the door. I refer everyone I know to go there for inpatient rehab services.

Life Care Center of Skagit Valley had an opening so we took it for mom and we were very pleased with it. The building is quite old, but they do an excellent job of keeping it clean. They like her, she laughs a lot, and it's just really great. She is really enjoying her stay there. The food is good and their chef is excellent. Mom can't complain about the food there. Her room is huge and I would definitely recommend this facility.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mom is in Life Care Center of Skagit Valley and it is a wonderful facility. It has a very good reputation. The food is very good, it is not the greatest but it is okay. With the care, I will say 90% of the people working there are wonderful. I like the nurses and the care that they give. When you walk in everyone is smiling, there is no odd smell and everything is clean. The rooms vary, there is an older part of the building that isn't the greatest, but they keep them very clean. The newer rooms, of course, are nicer. There are activities every day, like games, bingo, and sing-a-long. They have a little garden where they can plant flowers. Everything was wonderful even the administrator, except for the social worker probably because she is young and new. I think she is not really well informed because she is hard to work with.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My Dad was in the Sedro-Woolley, WA facility last year with his cancer for a month and my brother is presently there. In both of their stays, we have had the frustations of using the call button from their room to get help and the response is horrific-we'd even gotten to the point of timing the time of pushing the call button and getting someone to respond to it-it's horrible that there's sometimes 18-22 minutes before there's a response to the call button!! If someone was choking, they'd be dead by the time help came around. If the problem is that the facility it short-staffed, then the simple fix is to hire more staff to accomedate the needs of the patients. Last night, I counted 86 patients within the facility and with the costs that these patients pay, there is NO reason for such lack of support within the facility. I've read several web sites about this facility in Sedro-Woolley and 95% of the complaints are the response of the call button. This is really rediculous, don't you think?
