"I toured The Legacy at North Augusta. It had a one-bedroom apartment and a studio. It was a well-run home, a well-run facility. It would have taken care of everything that my sister needed, but the other facility, the view, was what sealed the deal. The sales director was very knowledgeable. She assured me that all of my sister's needs would be taken care of or come under consideration so that they could take care of everything with her. They know what they're doing, and they do it well. They cared about the residents. The upkeep is very well done, and the grounds are well-maintained. They had a few libraries, and I was impressed with them because they are decorated differently for different tastes and have different book selections."

"I decided to keep my mother at AVIVA Baldwin Park where she has been a resident for 20+ years. She loves her apartment. It's excellent. It is spacious. It is wheelchair accessible. The staff is extremely caring. My mother has always enjoyed dining downstairs in their beautiful setting for years. But since she is at this age, she receives her meal in her room for additional cost. She has housekeeping, which is included. Meals are included, too. It's a beautiful clean facility with any maintenance quickly done when needed. My mother has laundry services that can be provided as far as sheets and towels. And then if you need extra personal items, that's additional cost. But all in all, it's just been a wonderful facility. Everyone is very happy there. There are lots of activities for those that are active. There are concerts and musical performances in the evening, bingo and games in the afternoon, and the ladies sit around and have lots of clubs and activities. So it's a vibrant community, which my mother participated in up until 100."

"My father has been in the memory care part of Brightview Baldwin Park . The staff have been really taking care of him well. He enjoys the van rides and playing the piano as well as games in the community room such as bingo and crosswords. There is a nice private area in the back yard where they can relax. The bedrooms are large with a nice view of the yard. Thank you for doing a great job caring for Dad and those like him!"

"I toured Birch Ridge. I like that it's small. I like the grounds. The man couldn't have been nicer to answer my questions. I've had a good experience. The facility was very clean. It probably needs to be modernized and updated. It has the feel of being old, but it was clean. The rooms are nice, but their common area, the furniture, it's old."

"I went to Birch Gardens of Royal Care. It is a very pleasant location and a very nicely designed facility. Big space. It had plenty of places for the residents to sit and enjoy games and activities and a nice garden out back. The bedrooms and the bathrooms are all well-designed for people with varying degrees of disability. The staff is very respectful and helpful. The building is very attractive and very clean. It's an older building, but it's well-kept."

"My parents really liked The Retreat at Fishersville. They liked that it was small and the people were very friendly. It was a very beautiful, calm setting. Everything was very pretty about it, but it was a little hard for my mom to get around. It was spread out a lot, so we had to get her in a wheelchair and take her around. Other than that, it was very pretty. The rooms they showed us were wonderful. They were very up-to-date. Thy didn't look dated at all. They had plenty of space. The staff was very knowledgeable and very helpful to me. They had plenty of activities. They had a calendar of events and it looked like the menu was very well thought out. It's very convenient to our local hospital in case of emergency."

"Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was a wonderful place. The staff was very friendly and informative. They were able to help us. They showed us the dining area, activities area, the rooms, and the overall areas of the place. It was very clean. The residents looked well-taken care of. The rooms need updating, but they were nice. Even the lady who toured us said they needed to be updated. She talked with us for about an hour. She was really good and gave us a lot of good information. They also had a nice dining area. They had nice activity areas for the residents, like a library and places like that."

"Overall the Living Waters facility was accommodating and provided an intimate environment for my grandparents. We liked that the facility was a smaller remodelled house instead of a more institutionalized building. The staff was polite and when we experienced problem staff - management responded quickly. Food was always sub-par but again since the overall facility was large - the kitchen and dining areas were close enough to talk with the cooks - which made the overall feeling comfortable. We were disappointed with the lack of daily activities - most residents watched television most of the time. "

"All I can say Is Wow! Shenandoah Nursing was the best choice for our father. My family began looking for long term care for my father and we've been on Shenandoah's wait list for a long while. I can see now why there Is a wait list. The staff are wonderful, treated each one of my sisters and our father like he was family. They went above and beyond what you would expect to make our father comfortable and he's a particular gentleman to say the least. Everyone there Is happy to be there, staff included and It shows. The director of nursing and her team of nursing staff always made us feel comfortable. Invited us to call or stop in at anytime. What a relief that was to us knowing our father was getting the best care. The facility Is immaculate, food was great and we didn't want for anything while our father was a resident. "My mother moved into Stuarts Drafts Retirement Community, it's very nice, and we liked it very much. The food is very good, and the staff is very nice, and attentive. They serve a dinner meal daily, there's an additional charge for that, and they have an activity calendar that has trips, tea parties, bingo, exercising, movies, and music every week. They have a physical therapy company that is located there, but they charge for the physical therapy of course. It's very clean, well-cared for, she has a very nice studio apartment with a full kitchen and comfortable bathroom, but they also have 1 and 2-bedrooms. Some are in a buildings, and some are separate, like in a house setting. It's family-owned, and the family is on site frequently. It has a great reputation in the community. The price is the most reasonable we found anywhere, and it's in a beautiful, rural location. She has a great mountain view, so it's very pretty."

"Oak Grove Manor was very good. It was set back from the road, so my mom wouldn't be able to run to it, but they wouldn't take her. The people were very kind. Even though they wouldn't take her, it was an excellent facility, and I would have loved to have my mom there."
