"My mother liked Provident Crossings Retirement Resort. It was very nice. All the guests were friendly and the coordinator was very thorough with the tour. I liked all of the activities. It was just very clean and uplifting, not like some other places that you go into, and are kind of depressing. Everybody seemed happy. They have transportation. They have guestrooms for your family to stay in if they come to visit you. They have arts and crafts, a nice theater, a physical therapy room, and a puzzle room. I like that the mailboxes are right there in the main lobby. There's always somebody on duty at the concierge desk. It's very secure. All the doors are locked from the outside. You can get out, but you can't get back in. You have to go back around to the front door to get back in. During the tour, everyone that we encountered introduced themselves and was very nice. We met with the housekeeping staff. The chef that was onsite came out and introduced himself and said if mom had any particular food needs or whatever, he would take care of it. We had lunch and it was very good. It was what they were serving the guests that day and it was very good and very nutritious."

"My brother moved to the Auberge at Cedar Park's memory care facility. They just don't take as good care of my brother as I think they should. Since we moved him there, they've changed owners, and it seems the care has gone down some. My brother seems to run around in wet diapers all the time, as he is incontinent. They don't come in and change him before he goes to bed, like I think they should. The other night, he went to bed with no sheets. We have a plastic cover over his mattress so he won't ruin it, and that's what he slept on. There are no sheets, nothing but a plastic bag over the mattress. They finally changed it about midnight. The building is nice and clean. My brother never uses them, but they have outdoor spaces, too. They have some activities, but they don't have many. They need to improve the care of their residents. They don't take care of the people like they should, and that's the biggest gripe I have. It's a hundred times better than the other place my brother was in, but for $4,000 to $5,000 a month, you would think they would take good care of the people. They don't do that, not as well as they should. We call every day around 5 o'clock to get my brother to change his underwear because it's wet. We're spending between 4 and 5 grand a month, and we have to call my brother to remind him to change his clothes. It's just not right."

"My parents went to Double Creek Assisted Living & Memory Care, but my dad died, so now it's just my mom that is there. She is adjusting well. It's a nice place. It's very clean. They seem very attentive and responsive to my mother's needs. She is well taken care of. The food is really, really good; it's restaurant-style. I have no criticisms at this point. My mom is pretty much an isolationist right now, but I am trying to get her to participate in their activities. They have a home theater and a gym. They have sewing clubs and quilting clubs. They go to the grocery store every Wednesday. They take everybody, and my mom enjoys that. They have family nights and special events. Like for Easter they have a really nice dinner and everything, too. The staff members are very friendly. The meals are excellent and they have a very good variety as well. They have a very nice menu to choose from. None of them are cheap, and they're all pretty much out of sight. However, Double Creek Assisted Living & Memory Care is competitive."

"Brookdale Georgetown has a caring staff. The residents seem to be in need of a lot of care there. I would give them the rating based on the type of residents that they had. They were very caring and very interested in accommodating my mother. The facility is much older than the other places I toured. They had a courtyard, a sitting area, activities, and a salon. It was clean, but older."

"I have already moved into The Conservatory at North Austin. The management and the other residents are friendly. The management seems to be very involved with the residents and with the running of the facility. They offered numerous, numerous activities. I'm very comfortable that I made the right decision. They come and clean your place every other week. With the cable service that I have for my TV, I have more channels than I would ever watch. They're very good. They have a beauty salon where they do perms, colors, and haircuts, and they have a garden. They have a landscaping committee. Today it's National Airplane Day, and they're having a 'make-your-airplane.' This weekend they're having a Latin's Day with music and guitar. They're involved like yesterday the CEO was in the dining room shampooing carpets. They stop and speak to us every time they pass by. They ask how things are going and if you feel very comfortable. You can come to them if you have a question. I just find them very involved. I've only been here a couple of weeks, but I don't have any complaints."

"The Oaks Gracious Retirement Living is very nice and well-maintained. The rooms are rather spacious compared to what I was expecting. They are very nice, too. They have indoor hallways which are great, making it easy for my mom to get around and not have to go outside. The staff members are very friendly and are always assisting. They have card games, board games, and movie nights. They have a day full of activities. The dining area is very good. We had one meal there and it was good, well balanced, and tasty. My mom eats there three times a day, which is something we couldn't get her to do at home. So obviously the food is very good. She is eating more frequently now that she is there. They change the menu every day. The facility is well-maintained, beautiful, and very accommodating."

"I moved to The Oscar at Georgetown. My apartment is very nice and very comfortable. The food is good. They've got a variety of food to eat. The facility is very clean. The staff is friendly and nice."

"Amberlin Pflugerville was nice, calm, and peaceful. The room has just enough space for Mom to get around. It's something that wasn't too small to where it's cluttered. The staff was great. I had to reschedule a few times and she even made me a Saturday appointment where I could come up there, because my schedule wouldn't allow me to make it on time for the weekday. She was awesome. No food was being served at the time I went, but the dining area was clean. The building was clean, nice, and well kept up. I would give them five stars for everything."

"My mother has moved into Avalon Memory Care - Cedar Park. I like the percentage of workers to the residents. It's extremely clean. They have a good medical background and know how to handle different situations that arise. My mother loves the food. She says the meals have been wonderful. The facility is extremely comfortable. It has lots of seating in the common areas. The size of the rooms is wonderful, very large, very roomy, and very updated. She loves it. She's not able to do a lot, but she watches a lot of the activities that are going on. She's not left to sit in her room. They bring her down constantly for movies, to watch games that they're playing and different things like that. We've just been very pleased, especially since she was already in one where we moved from and this is so much better."

"My mother-in-law is in Cedar Ridge Alzheimer's Special Care. I love it. I think it's great. She couldn't be happier. I don't know when was the last time she was this happy. They take good care of her. All the aides are super with the people. I really like it, and the upper management. I'd give them an A-plus. The staff is great. They're very helpful and very good with the people, and they keep them active. They have all sorts of activities. The executive director has been trying to help me solve some different problems in her past place. Everybody's very helpful. They keep me updated on what she does every day and all the activities she's in. The food smelled wonderful. She's eating good, so if she didn't eat it, it wasn't good. The place is not huge. It's just a perfect size for her. She's in a room by herself right now. We just thought that as she got to know some people, and then down the road, we'd probably put her in a room with someone. It's clean and well-organized. It looks like it's kept up well. One day they were having balloon volleyball. They have people come in and play the piano and sing. They had an ice cream social the day that I toured the place, and they took everybody out to the porch and put hats on everybody who wanted them because it was sunny that day. They were having icies out there and everybody was having a good time and taking pictures and everything. She may not always participate, but at least she's there and she's watching. They're doing a good job. They're always updating me on stuff and calling me. I'm very happy with them. They have everything there. They've got nurses and everybody on hand."

"I moved into Maple Ridge Gracious Retirement Living. My apartment looks brand new, and I like my bathroom. It has a standard shower and grab bars by the commode. There's a mirror over the sink with plenty of drawers in front of the cabinet to keep things. It has two generous closets across from each other by the bathroom. This one has a patio outside, so I can look at the plants out there. It's on the fourth floor, so my view is out over Austin. They make up my bed and vacuum, and they bring me my meds. The staff here is friendly, and they come when I need them. Three meals a day are included and the food is delicious. They serve different courses, and all of it has been delicious. We have bingo. We're making Valentine's. We're playing cards. We have Bible study, and we also have bus trips. They have a courtyard and a beauty shop with 3 different beauticians."

"My daughter and I toured the Lakeline Oaks, an independent living community. The director was fantastic and took us around. I like the fact that there's a director and one of the managers who are on-site all the time because they live there. I also liked the fact that it was well kept up and had a great view. When you walk in, you will feel like it is a fun place. The people there were also very nice and very friendly. This place was eye-catching. They had done their rooms and modeled it to feel like you are going on a cruise ship. I believe that's what I had been told. The theater was eye-catching, too, like a regular theater would be. It had so many little quirks, so it's very interesting. They also had everything at the facility, so there wasn't even a reason to go out. Everything is also close. There were stores and restaurants around where it is located if you want to go out. I couldn't see any need to go out, though, because of the stuff offered at the facility."

"The Clairmont was very welcoming. As we approached the building, there were walkers outside, there were people there, and they greeted you. It's clean. The person who gave us the tour was fabulous. We went through and saw a couple of different units. We selected a two-bedroom unit. It needed a little bit of work, so they're getting that taken care of. We went back afterward on another date and played bingo and met some of the people that live there. My mom is just going to fit in there perfectly. Everyone was helpful. They answered any questions that we had. We saw the menu, and the food looked fabulous. Everybody said the food was fabulous, but I haven't physically tried the food."
