Assisted Living Communities in Spring, TX

"The people at Avanti at Augusta Pines were very nice. The lady who took us through the tour was fabulous. The rooms were small. Even the two-bedroom unit did not have a whole lot of closet space. My furniture wouldn't fit in there. The upkeep of the place was perfect. Someone had just moved out of the room the day before we toured, and they were getting ready to paint and replace the carpet. We walked through the dining area and lounge area where they have happy hour every day. The courtyards were very nice. It was very clean, and there was no smell."

"I like Wood Glen Court. However, it is big and it's all one story, so it's spread out. It would be too far for my mother to walk from her room to the dining area. I think it was better for someone in their 80s who gets around pretty well, like someone who still is mobile. The person I met was very nice. He took us on a tour of all the rooms, and I thought the rooms were very nice. They were more like apartments. I would have liked to have had that for my mother, but I just don't think she would have left her room. The structure of the facility was superior. It was very clean. I didn't see any people though. It was quiet that day, so I don't know what it's like there, but it just looks nice. It's only nine years old, so it's very new-looking. The room might have like two bedrooms, or it might have a bedroom, a living room, and a kitchen. The kitchens had larger refrigerators than most."

"My mom moved here. It's assisted living and we like that they have an outside garden area she can go to. It has a lot of shady oaks and they encourage gardening and planting tomatoes. It has all the activities, she's already got out of her room and played Bingo. They have a walking trail around the building, they have all the garden area inside or they can go and they have the squirrels and the birds. You can hang up your bird feeders and plant. There are no amenities like a swimming pool. This is not for somebody that can go swimming. Once a week, they do have the beauty salon open and a Bible reading or chapel area. We're still going through the adjustment period of when she gets her shower and when they do laundry because they do the laundry. They do the housekeeping once a week. We're still working on getting the kinks out and who to talk to for the different things going on. I'm sure it's all going to be fine, but we're going through that new period where we're still learning. I sat down and had a meal with her and it was very good. The facility is a little bit old but it's still pretty clean."

"The staff took amazing care of my mother in law for the last 8 months of her life. We will be forever grateful for the level of care and compassion that she received. We never had to worry that she was being neglected or mistreated. The staff went out of their way to make her happy and comfortable."

"This is the 3rd assisted living my mother has been in. We are so pleased with the care and attention mom receives. She has many health issue which the owner (a nurse) and the staff stay on top of. She has not had to go to the hospital in over a year. Great place "

"I love Brookdale Cypress Station. It's beautiful. The food is good. The people are good. The kitchen lady gave me a tour because the manager was busy. It was lunchtime when we went, and the lunchroom was full. The only thing is that it was expensive."

"I'm at The Landing at Augusta Woods Senior Living. It's all very good, very clean, and very nice. What I like about it the most is they had independent cottages, and that's what convinced me. I didn't want to be in an apartment-style or condominium-style. These are brand new. There are only 28 of them. I was the first person to live in one. It has a patio, and it has full service for everything. They don't manage the healthcare because it's independent living. What I like about it is that everything is included. You don't pay extra for a garage, TV, internet, or anything else. At the other facilities I looked at, the prices were reasonable, but there were too many add-ons to worry about. The staff is wonderful, very welcoming, and very good. I have no problem at all. They had activities, but I'm not familiar with them because I've been moving in. The dining area has tablecloths and everything. They're very accommodating if you want extra whatever. I haven't eaten there that many times, but I think the food could be better than it is."

"I have given SCR an excellent across the board. Ted (owner) his mother and wife were present a fair amount of the time and always approachable. The Staff was always friendly, careful and gentle with our sweet mom and extremely respectable. The facility was gorgeous when mom moved in and probably could have been maintained a bit better...but still clean. The price is absolutely fair compared to other facilities. We were always welcome to come in and stay as long as we wanted. They had lovely Christmas Parties and the extended families were always included. My mother passed while living at SCR and she received excellent care prior to her passing and during her passing. I would highly recommend SCR. "

"I recently toured The Forum at The Woodlands for my parents who reside in Florida. I found the community and the staff to be first class, very professional, the food was great and the residents appeared to be very happy. I was pleased with the laughter and friendliness. I think my parents would enjoy living here. "

"We looked at Ella Springs Senior Living Community, I liked it. The rooms seemed so much bigger than others we've looked at; for the price, they had walk-in closets and everything. It was clean and nice, and the food was really good. They had different choices for the food and everything. Everybody was nice, and the dining area was really good. There was a chef there and he brought stuff out, they had a menu for us to choose from and we all got to choose whatever we wanted. It's not like they served everybody the same thing, there were different types of food for everybody. I saw one lady watching in a movie room. They were fixing to start a movie, so people were going in there. The staff was very nice."

"I have known about The Village at Gleannloch Farms. I watched them being built from the very start. It is really one of the finest providers that I have ever seen. It was really upper class, and it was really quite nice when we visited. I like the staff there. The food and the dining rooms were excellent. They have bistro and cafeteria-style, and then they have a very formal dining room. The rooms were fine. The only thing there was that their two-bedroom apartments were extremely small. They were only 600 square feet. They were not big enough for two people. "

"Village Green Alzheimer's Care Home-Champions was nice. It was very expensive, but it was very nice and it didn't have many residents. I ruled it out because of the price. It's a very nice facility and it's right on the golf course there. They had a nice patio area where you could go out there and enjoy nature. The person who toured us didn't have that much information and that was someone who I think took over, but we asked some questions that she didn't know the answers to, so I don't think she was a regular person that would have been touring. It was very clean and like a new place, and it was beautiful there. It's well maintained. I remember they didn't have showers in the rooms themselves. They had to go out of the hall to a shower where someone would help them. It was big showers, and they would have to share those."
