"My mother stayed in Evergreen Cottages - Bridgewater Cottage for 15 days and passed away. I didn't visit any other homes. Once I talked to Evergreen, I was so impressed with the gentleman that owned them that I made an appointment to go talk to them, and we knew that was the place. I never even went to any other place. The first thing that I noticed was it did not appear to be like a nursing home. It was a home environment. It was very warm and welcoming. It was very clean, and it was decorated so nicely. The aides that worked there were also caring and personable, and I never had a complaint. Mother had Parkinson's, was in a wheelchair, and had dementia, so she wasn't able to participate in a lot of activities. Eventually, she went to bed and was not able to get out. The food looked good and smelled good when we went in. I did notice that they did a lot of activities with patients that were not in my mother's condition. The upkeep was very good. It met my expectations. "

"I loved Tuscany Living Villas. It's beautiful, the people were great, the facility was gorgeous, the facilitators were very friendly, and the food was great. It was a perfect setting for my mother. They had a whole list of activities. It's a beautiful house in Cinco Ranch. It's on a cul-de-sac, the rooms were nice, the staff was nice, it's very clean, and it didn't smell. The menus looked fine. The person in-charge and the owner were all wonderful."

"My mother moved into The Delaney at Parkway Lakes a week ago. We chose it because of the service, the cost, and the support. They have outdoor activities. They also have trips, bingo, games, and movies. Her room is a nice size with a nice view. The staff is pleasant, friendly, warm, and very professional."

"I will move into Affectionate Care Assisted Living Home. It's new and small. They serve meals, and I ate over there the other day. It was really good. It's a small apartment, and they have several patios."

"My mother-in-law has been in God Love Assisted Living Homes II for a week now. It's a very nice, neat and clean facility. There're very nice and very hardworking women there. They're going to help with her wound care because she has bedsores on her buttocks. They are there to help with trying to get her medications. We also brought in hospice. The staff is fantastic. They're very nice and very helpful. I check with them every few days and they have been taking care of my mother-in-law very well. The living atmosphere is nice. Her room is very nice. My mother-in-law wasn't eating at the hospital. However, with these people, she's starting to eat food. The dining area is very nice and very clean. We got there while they were preparing the meals. We saw a couple of people in the living room watching TV. It was lunchtime and everybody was getting ready to eat. It's a good value for money. Heidi and Mr. Joe were helpful with the decision we made in getting her there, and now they're taking care of her."

"We chose to move mom to Bristol Park Cypress because of the atmosphere of the facility, and the price was definitely reasonable. It seemed like they had offered more activities. It's not just a hallway with rooms. They have a lot of seating areas for residents to go out. They have more space. Some of the places that we went through were really nice, but they were just isolated. Almost as if you were in a library. They weren't very personal. The staff is very nice and accommodating to my particular needs. They checked all the boxes. For the ones that didn't check, they made sure they were going to be checked. From what I saw, their food looked pretty much generic. I've walked through the facility, maybe about six times, and saw them doing activities. For the price range we were in, they have a moderate number of activities for their care level. It's acceptable."

"My husband moved to the memory care facility of Cypress Assisted Living IV in Houston. It's very nice, very clean, and the staff are all very friendly. It houses 46 people, and the staff knew my husband's name and called him by name the first day he was there. They know all of the residents by name, and they're very patient and kind with them, from what I observed. It is a family-owned facility, and they do a very lengthy interview process for hiring. I'm very happy with my husband there. He's getting good care. It's a locked-down facility. Some residents are more capable than others, but I don't think any of them could ever live on their own. They have a TV room where the medtech is, so they're never left alone. They bring them out of their room for breakfast. They get them showered and dressed, then have breakfast. Then they do activities until lunch and until supper. They have an outdoor area that's surrounded by the building, so it's secure. There's a code to get in and out of the building, so you can't get in or out without someone letting you. They have planned activities with the activity director. They have games and do stuff all day to keep the residents active."

"I toured Brookdale Shadowlake. I was well-welcomed and the administrator was nice. She showed me around and went to look at the rooms, so I was impressed. The rooms were large, big enough to accommodate my loved ones."

"My parents moved into The Abbey at Westminster Plaza. The overall experience is excellent. My parents adjusted very well to the situation. I found the staff to be very caring, attentive, and passionate. My parents have a nice size room and appropriate. We furnished it. I found everything to be very clean and well taken care of. I don't have any complaints about anything. The food seems to be very good, and no complaints there. I don't remember all the activities, but they keep them pretty busy every day."

"My husband liked Avanti Senior Living at Towne Lake. We did go and have lunch there and that's our first choice. It was very clean and very updated. The staff are trained and they get in-service monthly on memory care because that's what I was looking for specifically. The assisted living side looked fabulous like a high-end hotel type of situation. It's fairly new and everything is very orderly and very structured. They've got nice areas for people to go and watch TV. If you want to watch sports, there's an area over there. If you want to watch a movie, then there's a spot someplace else. You can even have a TV in your room if you want it. They have an activities director. There are quite a few staff onsite 24/7. There was a lot to recommend them. I know they have a lot of people that can't have salt or they have restricted diets, but the food was OK. I wouldn't say it would be gourmet, but it was good, and if you wanted something different or if you wanted salt, they had it available for you. It's not like you're going to go in and have institutional food. I was able to see into their activity area where they were having something going on. The furnishings of everything just looked like a high-end hotel."
