while Visiting my uncle. his room mate ask me for a cup of Ice, I Proceed to the nurse station to ask for Ice for bed 2 and 45 minutes later we went back to nurses station to ask again no one was their I wanted 3 to 4 minutes no one showed up so I left. Their was no soap in the bath room. We visited for 2 hours and no one ever came to the room at all. I even turned on the light for help and still no one came. Sad thing is when I went to the desk their were 2 people sitting at the desk doing nothing and the one that was supposed to be the nurse pretended to be going to get the ice and never showed up. People need to start leaving reviews on places that they place their family members in this is sad and unacceptable something really needs to be done about it. If you don't check on your family members I can promise you they will not be treated right.

Since my family member being here: we brought food to them at 5pm and they didn't give it to this family member until 1am, they kept a diaper on them for 12 hours on 2 occasion, and it hasn't been a week. I can't stress how negligent this nursing home's care is. My heart grieves for anyone who doesn't have the money to put someone in a better facility because this place has been a nightmare for my family member, this place is the reason why there's a negative stigma around nursing homes.

Visited a loved one here tonight and my husband and I were saddened by what we saw. The Nurse was rude to family members inquiring about their family. She was raising her voice, cut them off when they were talking and did not follow up nor make sound nursing decisions when a crisis arrived. This was concerning because if you talk to family members like this, how are you treating the patients; especially when no one is around. While we were there a call light was beeping for 1 1/2 hours before staff answered it. A resident was at the nursing desk for a long time waiting for help that he never received. He looked so sad and left. We asked him before leaving if anyone helped him and he said, "No. But that happens all the time." We stayed around for several hours to observe the care being given to the residents and casually spoke with a few residents to inquire about their treatment. What we saw and heard was not good. I would never place my loved one in this facility nor recommend this facility to anyone. I hope and pray that the State does a pop up visit or an undercover visit and shut this place down. Please do not place your loved ones here.

This place stink some kind of awful. The staff takes forever to return your calls like a week or more you have to keep calling or just go there. They lose your love one clothes. It should be closed down torn down rebuilt from the ground up with new staff train them thoroughly on customer service.

Staff is rude and a stank attitude! With the exception of a few who have a heart! Unresponsive to patients! Always stating they are busy and understaffed! Tell you they will get assistance and never return or as one told me when i asked if she would help me with my family member.."I cannot and walked out"! When you find someone who will help..they are called in and told "not to help" When you speak with the person in charge..they just give you some BS to get you of their office and never do what they say..no follow up...no nothing! On the weekend..FORGET IT! Oh BTW, they let my family member fall..think I have had any follow up from the lady in charge...Heavens No! PLEASE THINK TWICE..THEY MAY BE SOMEWHAT DECENT IN THE BEGINNING..MAYBE! BUT YOU WILL COME TO FIND OUT.....THEY SUCK! UNACCEPTABLE!

Residents who are not very mobile are not taken care of. Rare for someone to check and see if they need help going to bathroom. If they have a bathroom mishap, they are left for long periods of time in soiled clothes.

My husband was bedridden when he went to the Highlands, and they help him with his physical and occupational therapy. The room is nice and clean. They have some activities every day. They have bingo, movie nights, and picnics. The food is good, and they try to accommodate his taste. The dining area was nice with tables, chairs, and a piano. It is so light and a spacious place. It is secure with a code, and the code is changed every month. It is a nice place for me.

I'm in agreement with the last person. My relative was a resident here also and from day one when you walked in it smell like a facility where the elderly lived. When people enter a facility for the first time, normally you would be introduced by, "Hi, may we help you," or a smile, not these people. We walked in approaching some of the staff and spoke to them first, otherwise they were gonna walk right past us. My relative was visited on several occasions and caught with urine and feces on them. We got help immediately after we arrived because we insisted that they were cleaned up immediately. After they had eaten food their dinner food was left on the floor also. If horrible customer service, bad attitudes from the majority of the staff and an unpleasant smell is what you want, definitely bring your love ones to Highland of Memphis on Norriswood.

This place is an absolute nightamre to deal with. I would not recommend anyone to go here. My grandmother was sent here for rehabilitation and they had her insurance information wrong costing us money out of pocket that could not be reimbursed. They did not work with her and I constantly had to go in behind them to get anything done. I eventually had her moved and has since made a full recovery in which they told me she never would. Do not send a loved one here. They only care about filling their beds and making money. That is my opinion but they were not pleasent to work with in any aspect.
