Nursing Home Communities in West Memphis, AR

"My mother was a resident at Mid-South for 10 years, and I still have many friends who live at this facility. My mother was treated in a presidential fashion, hence, her room was referred to as the "White House." I looked after her for 11 years at home before she went to live at Mid-South. She had a massive stroke, which almost entirely destroyed her communications. She could understand what everyone was saying to her, but she couldn't respond except to say "yes" or "no." Despite all of this, she managed to make herself understood by the staff, who knowing how fussy she was, made it a point to understand what she was trying to say to them and comply with her wishes. On a visit from Ireland to see her one time, my brother remarked on how many times the staff came in to check on her. My mother was well beloved at Mid-South and as a caregiver, you can't ask for more. "

"The nurses were so attentive to my mom’s wombs! She went from facility to facility and only got worse! I thank God that this place was a little gem and ray of hope! Not only did mom’s womb heal quickly, her health improved dramatically. Everyone is knowledgeable, patient, understanding, and full of love!!"

"There are too many problems too count in this nursing home; I wouldn't even know where to start. Suffice it to say that it has a one-star rating by Medicare/Medicaid for a reason. I am sorry to say that I would not recommend this facility to anyone. There are many employees there that should be fired. Patients who cannot feed themselves are not getting fed, or to be fair, not much effort is being made to feed them. Patients who are bedridden are getting bedsores because they are not being turned enough. Some of the staff is pleasant but many of them are just there for a paycheck and can't wait to clock out. Please think long and hard before you put a loved one in Ashton Place! "

"My grandmother is currently a resident of the Mary Galloway Home. We chose this facility because they offer assisted living options specifically for women. We felt my grandmother needed more social interactions, even though she was still largely able to care for herself independentally. The Mary Galloway Home offers the perfect combination of care and activities. Since entering the facility a year ago, she absolutely loves it and has made new friends with both the staff and other women. They have special parties, outings, games and movie nights. The property also has a beauty salon and an ice cream shop. On her birthday this past May, the residents and staff even held a birthday luncheon for her and some of the other women celebrating birthdays. We love that the assistants take great care to make sure my grandmother is taking her medications correctly and eating a healthy diet, yet still allow her to live on her own terms. I love that my grandmother is happy and loving life more than ever before. "

"If you love your parents, don't send them to Allen Morgan. The independent living is great as well as assisted, but don't expect the level of care at Allen Morgan. Please look at the reviews and the same issues have been occurring year after year and administration does nothing. We decided to leave after 6 months since our issues weren't addressed. CNAs who were constantly on their phones and even sleeping. There are more assisted living facilities to chose from so why settle for less for people you love?"

"My husband was bedridden when he went to the Highlands, and they help him with his physical and occupational therapy. The room is nice and clean. They have some activities every day. They have bingo, movie nights, and picnics. The food is good, and they try to accommodate his taste. The dining area was nice with tables, chairs, and a piano. It is so light and a spacious place. It is secure with a code, and the code is changed every month. It is a nice place for me. "

"I couldn't have asked for a better facility for my Mom. They treated her like she was one of their own. The food was always hot and delicious and Mom ate every last bite. There wasn't a day that I didn't visite that when I walked in and walked down the hall it smelled and was so clean. And every time I visited, Mr. Anderson would always make sure everything was up to my Mom and my standards. If I could give this facility 10 stars I would! "

"When my mother moved in December 2015, this facility was in transition. Now they have a new administrator, new director of nursing, assistant director of nursing, a lot of new staff, and the best of the best are still there! My mother receives great care and concern, staff is approachable and helpful, and the administration is the best! Give this place a chance, be patient,and be involved. You won't be disappointed. "My mom is at Desoto Healthcare Center. They're very good and help my mom with everything because she had a stroke July 1st which affected her right side and she is not able to do anything. My mom is in rehab, and they're really working with her. They keep me well informed about her care and her medications."

"I was very dissatisfied with Bright Glade Convalescent Center. Before I spoke to these people yesterday, they assured us that my brother was not nursing home material nor was he a memory care material. So I was under the pretense that it was assisted living and that's where they were sending me to there. And it was horrible. The people that were in the room, they're nursing and they're in beds. I was very disappointed in the staff, too. They sent me to the office, which allowed me to look into the rooms. This was like 10 in the morning, and everybody was still in their beds. I felt like they should all be up and moving around, which my brother would have been. The receiving area is like a banquet room and next to it is where you eat your dinner. I taught school for 40 years, and the dining area looked like a cafeteria with long tables and tablecloths on it. Overall, it was weird because the first time I went there, they were more than happy to accommodate me, and then by Monday, it was all different. And the staff didn't call me back. They need to improve on communication."

"The staff takes great care of my uncle compared to other facilities he has been in. He is always clean and well taken care of. The staff is very helpful and address all concerns promptly. They go on field trips."

"I had a hard time finding a nursing home that I liked for my Father - Signature Heathcare Dovecrest was his third nursing home. I wish it would of been the first place because this nursing home was amazing! They have people that work there that really care. They aren't there to just get a paycheck. When you go online to try to find a nursing home - people always write all the negative things about them. So - I thought I'd take some time to actually write about this place so it could help someone that was looking for a nice place. The nurses and social worker was wonderful. My Dad would tell me when I would go visit him that they treat him like a King. It made me feel good knowing that my Dad was happy and well taken care of. I can not say one negative thing about this place. "

"Signature Healthcare basically is okay; it’s not as convenient because it’s in a very busy part of town, right next to a hospital. I have troubled walking but I don’t have a handicapped sticker so sometimes we’ve got to park pretty far away and walk. The therapists are very good; the staff, nurses, the aides and everybody else is very friendly but I just have a problem with the doctors as they are hard to find. I’ve never met her. She won’t sign any of the paperwork we’ve asked her to sign. Each floor has their own little dining room and I believe they prepare the food somewhere else; in fact I think it might come from a restaurant but they have a little dining room setup. They have a nice gym on the main floor, they take him down there every early in the day. They have regular gym equipment but they don’t have much of an outdoor. They have a patio where they can just sit outside, but all they see is traffic. I think they have a meeting room where they can play cards and bingo. He was in a semi-private room; we felt very crowded. There was no privacy; there were just a curtain dividing the beds. We did put him in a private room a couple of weeks ago and the price is outrageous at $6900 for the nursing care. I had no idea that a nursing home was that expensive. "

"My mother was in rehab at Signature HealthCARE of Primacy for six weeks. Everybody was very nice and very accommodating. I didn't have any issues with anything. She was taken care of. They always kept me informed on what's going on, her treatments or medications, and even her activities. She was in a semi-private room. It had two living areas, two TVs, two dressers, and two closets. They kept it clean and sanitized. They were strict about COVID restrictions and masks. Her insurance and Medicare took care of everything. They took her to doctors' appointments. I would recommend that facility."
