Our tour experience at The Residences of Greer was good. It was a really nice place. The lady that gave us the tour was really sweet, nice, and informative. While the other ones have a price for room and board and a price for medication, at The Residences of Greer these are included in one price, and that to me was good. That was a plus for them. They are a two-level facility, so we weren't crazy about that just because of that. We would rather have my mom in a one-level place. The activities and stuff are on the second floor with all the residents. Some of the residents are downstairs, too, but they go upstairs to do the dining and all that stuff. That's all on the second level. Memory care has their own courtyard and their own wing of the place. Their rooms are the same. They're just small rooms with no kitchenette in the memory care part. It's a newer building. They were painting and updating it, but they had been there for probably five or six years.

My wife moved to The Residences of Greer. It's clean. The people were caring. The facilities are very nice. They do have a library and a courtyard.

My Dad is a former resident. I wish we had moved him sooner. In 2 years there was constant staff turn over, including 3 different directors. I never know who to talk to about issues that arise. The food and food service is terrible!!! They have very few staff led activities. Thank Goodness for outside musicians that come perform because most of the activities are canceled on a whim. Staff is resistant to the changing needs of the residents. It's more of a "one size fits all" approach. Conversations with staff and meetings with admins produce very little, if any change and never with any follow up. It's mostly just empty promises to do better. The décor in the common areas look nice but if you look close, they are dirty and nothing is in working order. The carpets and upholstery throughout need cleaned. The tv's in the lobby and bistro aren't even hooked up. The fireplace has never been on. The residents sit around in the cold lobby in coats, hats and blankets to complain about the food and the staff and talk about how bored and unhappy they are. At the present time, this facility is not a place for Mom or Dad.

The Residences of Greer is a new facility. They seem to have everything we need there because they got a doctor on call and whatever else my wife might need. They've got live entertainment every two weeks. They've got a band that comes in and plays. It just seemed like a pretty good fit for her. The staff during the tour was very good. Everything I looked at was neat and clean. They had it well organized.

I loved everything about them. I told my family that when I'm at an age where I need to go to assisted living, I need to go there. It was awesome, it's fairly new and all the rooms had hardwood floors. So it was great. The staff that gave us the tour was really on it. It was more of what I liked, and it would not be a good fit for my mother.

They are attentive to the clients. If you notice something that needs to be done, they take care of it right away.
