"My grandmother is at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living. We chose to move her there because it's one of the places that have skilled nurses who would work on her dementia. So, they provide the level of care that she needs. They have all kinds of things up there. They have a spa day where the girls come in and paint their nails. They have bingo and movie nights. They have a hair salon, which is important, and an ice cream parlor."

"Very peaceful and clean facility. The staff mostly work together as a team. When needed office personal help care for patients. They were all very kind and helpful. My husband is a special needs person and they did very well with him. Speech therapy great! Nutritionist super! If needed we will go back and we recommend this place 100 percent. "Robert Flowers Village is connected to the nursing home. The residents can get their food from the nursing home if they want to, but other than that, they're pretty much independent. It's 12 to 14 individual apartments connected by a hallway, and each has individual entrances. You don't have to go to the lobby to get to your room. It's not a controlled environment, but there's not going to be a lot of people running around. I put my name on the waiting list to move in there. I liked that it was an individual apartment, it had washer and dryer on the same floor, had separate entrance, each one has a backdoor, and you can have a little patio. Most of the people were a little younger, and they're pretty active on their own. They can go out to eat, cook for themselves, order in, or order food from the nursing home, which wasn't spectacular but not terrible. "

"The first time I stepped foot into Cannon Inn and saw how friendly and happy the residents were, I was sure it was the place I wanted my mom to live. It has a warm inviting atmosphere, the food is great, and the caregivers are absolutely excellent! They all know her personally—her needs, the little things that make her happy, and especially how to comfort her. The manager is wonderful to work with. Each room has an outdoor, gated patio. My mother has a covered swing which we love to sit in during our visits! There are outside groups that come into the home for special events, fairs, holiday celebrations, and entertainment. Family members are able to gather in a family setting for dinner in an adjoining room from the regular dining hall. It is really comforting to know that my mother is well cared for and happy. "My friend has been at Silver Birch of Terre Haute for a couple of weeks now. The reason he chose this community is that it had more of the things that he wanted. He said they're very helpful with him taking showers and bringing in meals. They do his laundry and his cleaning. He is very happy with it there. I like the convenience, like his room is close to the laundry center and not too far from the dining hall. We didn't have to walk a long way like you do in some of these places. It was convenient for us to visit. My brother-in-law lives there, too, so we visited him first for like a half an hour. He was out on the porch. He has been there for about three to four years now. They have a therapy room for physical therapy, which is what my friend needs. The dining room is nice. It is very close to his room, too, because he has problems with mobility. It is a nice setup, and it is clean and roomy. It isn't cluttered like some places are. My friend likes the staff there. The facility itself is very nice, very clean-looking, and well set up."

"Upon walking in the front door, I came face to face with a majority of the residents gathered around the television. They were watching a soap opera with some of the staff members. A CNA was playing the piano with a few residents in the corner of the same room. I was then given a tour of the individual rooms, each containing 2 beds. The rooms were clean and organized, albeit small. Many of the rooms were currently being attended by CNAs or RNs. There was an ice pass going on while I was given the tour. Overall, the place seems happy and active. The residents are not simply left in their rooms all day long. They have group activities, exercises and entertainment. The staff is very helpful and involved. There didn't appear to be any signs of neglect or abuse. Bedridden patients were still paid attention to and turned regularly. "
