My dad is already living in Brookdale Mt. Hood. The experience has been tough with him moving to live alone, but he's adjusting well. The staff is good, they answer all your questions. It's a very clean facility. He has a studio there and he's got a recliner, a nice little kitchen with a small refrigerator, a microwave, and a nice size bathroom. It's very clean and well put together. Most of the staff members are willing to do whatever you ask them to do. We're adjusting, but they have been good. He does not like the meals, but I've tasted quite a bit of his meals and I think they're pretty good. He hasn't been going down to the dining room, he's been taking his meals in his room. We're going to start getting him to the dining room because, by the time he gets the meals in his room, they're not fresh and hot anymore. They have a barber come in one day a week, which is amazing. They have a happy hour once a week, and they do bingo and exercise classes. They have outdoors that are pretty. He doesn't have a balcony in his room but there's a nice garden area in the center of the buildings, and his view looks out to that. They don't have enough people working, so the staff is overworked. But I understand that it's very difficult to find people everywhere to work these jobs. It's crazy expensive, but they're there when we needed them. It's just very very expensive, but I guess that's normal.

I went to Brookdale Mt. Hood. It was a nice walkthrough. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. They had a lot of activities and amenities. I think they would be a good choice for a lot of people. There was only one person and he was informative and knowledgeable about what they offered. And, they also told us about the road ahead, what that would look like for us. So it was very informative.

Brookdale Mt. Hood was one of my favorite places. It was really nice. I think the best thing about Brookdale was the garden that they have. A bunch of units opened up into this garden area, where they could go out. The facility is sort of built around this big common garden area in the middle, rather than having to go outside. So, the green space was the nicest of all of them. Naomi was really nice. She was great. They also have a beauty shop, a place for exercise, a common area to do arts and crafts, and all of the really nice stuff.

As a visitor, I liked Brookdale Mt. Hood very much. It's assisted living and I think it was the only one that the courtyard didn't have grass but I like the units very much. I like the community very much. The only thing for my mom's case was that she would prefer to look out onto the grass. On the outside, I think there were trees and stuff, which was great, but the courtyard itself has rocks and shrubs but no grassy area. There were puzzles and books and areas for people to gather. They have bright hallways and the place is very comfortable. The residents looked happy and I enjoyed my visit there.

My mother was at Brookdale Mt. Hood for a couple of weeks until she got better and then she went back home. It seemed like a nice place. They have a garden. The people seemed to be kind like a family. That's the only impression I got from it. Her room, I think, is a 1-bedroom. They had a lot of activities. She made friends and kept busy. Her injury healed and she decided that she is going to live all by herself other than make friends and do stuff.

The staff of Brookdale Mt. Hood was very nice. However, the place was not as clean nor as nice as the other community. The rooms were clean but average. The dining area was fine. They did have activities.

Brookdale was a very nice place, but we have not made any decision yet. The staff was very cordial, and it’s a 2-bedroom place. We have tried the food, and it was very good. They had a workout room and golf. It’s a very nice community, and they did a good job.

I would not put a relative in this place, should it ever come up, again. Though the public areas are clean, the rooms often are not. Spills on carpets, by staff or resident, seemingly never wiped up. Left for the next, scheduled shampoo. If staff or resident use up 'furnished' supplies too soon, family is told they must supply them. Much of the time, there is no one staffing the front desk. Calls to make inquiry's or requests often not followed through. Empty promises and talk with staff. Clothes frequently lost in laundry. The care is adequate, at best. A sad change from the much earlier facility it once was.

Brookdale Mt. Hood (Formerly Wynwood of Mt. Hood) was OK, but it was a little small. The location was good. They had activities that my parents might be interested in, i.e., crocheting and knitting which my mom does, and my dad is an outgoing kind of a guy and he would be able to make friends there. They had three meals and transportation once or twice a week.

This place looks nice and seems welcoming. Our experience was awful. They were super aggressive with getting us to agree to put our parents there. Even telling me to cancel my back up places because they were 100% taking them. I did just that and two days before they were supposed to move in, they rejected my father. It was awful. They were rude and refused to speak with us further. So we had no where to put them. No apologies, just no..we don't want him. Of course my parents want to stay together, but they tried to hold my mom to the "contract" they forced her to sign. Unfortunately for Brookdale they can't do that to Medicaid patients. Avoid this place, it just seems poorly run. There were many miscomunications about transportation and care. Saying They could do things, then changing their minds. It as if they just tell you what you want to hear so they can sucker you in. Then they realize they made a mistake and could care less who they hurt. Bad show Brookdale My. Hood!

Look elsewhere. None of the managers even show up to work here half the time. Staff is rude. Food is mediocre.

We toured Brookdale Mt. Hood. It had an outside smoking area, and we needed an inside smoking area. The individual rooms were fine. The staff seemed friendly. I would recommend them, and I liked them. We talked to some of the residents; they seemed happy there.

When we entered the Brookdale facility, everybody was crowded into what looked like a little open town area where it had little coffee shops and stuff, but they were sitting there watching a TV show. The place was very nice and very clean. They had separate little individual apartments. The thing that we did not like about it was the fact that they had one shower and one bathtub area that they use for all the residents. If somebody wanted to take a shower late in the afternoon, they could not because they have them scheduled at certain times a day which I understand because they have to do everything.

I was looking for places in Gresham, and the only number they had was a service that provided different facilities. Brookdale Mt. Hood is very good, and the facility is very clean. The people were extremely nice. If I was going to put my mother somewhere, that would be the facility I would use.

I have lived here for two years and find it very enjoyable. At first I needed caregiver and med aide help and they were always very helpful, caring and friendly. I'm now much better and find that the location is perfect to bus lines and I have the freedom to come and go but the assistance of meals, housecleaning and laundry service. It's a perfect situation for me. All of the staff are dedicated, caring and friendly.

We placed mom at Wynwood of Mt. Hood which had assisted living and memory care if ever it became necessary. It was close to her home. We liked her room; it was as one bedroom. The staff is excellent; very helpful, and every interactive. The other residents were very friendly. The surroundings were very clean and very accessible. I like the facility a lot. She was only there for 10 days and she was very resistant to going. She did not really participate with the activities.

My mom is at Wynwood at Mt. Hood. The staff there are very friendly and made her feel at home. My mom gets along with the other residents very well. The place was just right for her. It was very clean and well kept, but not terribly expensive. At the same time the place is not too fancy. It felt very much like home for her.

if your looking for kind and compassionate care this is NOT the place to take your family or friend. The caregivers are overworked and make it obvious they don't like their job. Yelling at the elderly like they're two years old. Treating them with disrespect and no compassion what so ever. Very few activities and unless your depend and can get outside on your own. Don't ask to be taken outside on a nice day because they are too busy. This community has a great sales pitch but the care is awful. It's very sad to see your loved one treated so poorly and the others who are there that have no one to advocate for them. I highly recommend you avoid this community.

I have visited my elderly aunt on several occasions. The facility looks nice, but the care that my aunt has been receiving has not been adequate. Her laundry is not kept up and she has not received an evaluation from the nurse and we have requested this on many occasions. It is sad to say that they just don't seem to care for their elderly. I would not recommend this facility.

I don't know how the above person recwived a care assessment- we have been trying to do that for months. When we ask for one, instead of doing it with family present, they just sit down and ask the resident a few questions, then develop the care plan- often with twice as much "needed care" as there should be...afterall, they get paid more if they say they need to do more. Watch out if your resident smokes- they will charge for taking them out and sitting there with them- but they never stay out there! C has gotten charged for a list of things they provided him each month- and it's never true! J gets charged for stuff they have NEVER done for her! L*** is getting charged late fees when they take her payment directly out of her account. This is not someplace I would send your family to unless they were desperate.
