"They were having lunch when we visited Legend at Jefferson's Garden with a couple of the different residents. They all recommended it. They all said they were happy there. The dining area setup seemed a little dim to me. I'd like to see more lighting or brighter, cheerier decor. It seemed just a little bit dark. It's just my personal preference. I prefer light and airy. As other people get older they need brighter lighting to see good."

"We visited Acclaim Living. I like the personnel. We were greeted when we first got there. My husband said, "Oh, look at this." There was a picture frame with my name on it, and it said, "Welcome. Could you come and take a visit?" It was very personalized. We even arrived early, and she accommodated us because we were almost 30 minutes early. The coordinator, Donna, was the one giving us the information about the facility. I liked her. She's very accommodating. She's a very personable person. They had a lot of outdoor spaces you could go to. I don't smoke, but they accommodate smokers. They are pet-friendly. They have a lot of space where your dogs can go out and tour the grass, and have fun outside. We drove around it, and there was lots of space for her and the other pets, if they had any, that would be guarded against being hurt. It's all fenced in, so you wouldn't have to worry about that, and that was a big plus for me."

"Elison Independent Living of Statesman Club was very nice. The staff was great. The apartments were all right. They weren't as large as I had hoped, but they were okay. The facility was well kept up. The dining area was nice. They have all kinds of activities. The reason I rule them out is because I have a dog, and there is a fee to bring a dog in. I realized that their fee was higher than the other places."

"The facilities were very clean. It met all the expectations that we had. It was a beautiful setting. It was large and spacious. They had good physical therapy. The exercise room was well equipped. The dining area was clean, spacious, and very well organized. The staff members were very friendly, cordial, and eager to help."

"My tour of Legend at Council Road was great. It was very nice. I was very impressed with the facility. They were very accommodating and very friendly. They showed us what they had. We had a meal there, and it was very good. The layout was nice. It was one story, which I liked. I don't care for the higher-up levels. I think they have a staff 24-hour, a nurse or somebody there, and that was good, too."

"I toured here. It was a small community, but very nice and homey. The staff who assisted me with the tour was very nice and knowledgeable. The rooms were very nice. They were not large but they had a very good size. The dining area was kind of on the small side, but it was clean. They had different games and exercises."

"I toured The Mansion at Waterford. It was very, very clean. Everyone seemed very nice and it was secure. I liked the room I saw. I liked everything I saw. The only thing I was concerned about was that there was no access for them to go outside except for a little bitty courtyard. I would have preferred the memory care patients a little bit bigger area for them to go outside, but everything else was beautiful. I thought that was a very nice place. I didn't see anything I didn't like there. The staff was great. She told me everything and gave me some suggestions. She's very helpful. She listened to me rattle on about all my issues. She showed me around and all of those things. I know they have a beauty salon. The people could go out into a little courtyard, a little garden, and work in a little raised garden."

"I toured Morada Midwest City. It was nice. It was clean. The rooms were smaller than what they were in the other facility. The biggest thing that I liked was the activities. They had daily activities. They posted it on the board, things of that nature. So that was a big win for me because that's something that my mother enjoys. The staff was very personable."

"We have chosen The Renaissance of Stillwater for my mom. I was very happy with it. The Renaissance of Stillwater happened to be the first of the three tours, and I liked it so much that I didn't even want to look at the other ones. I was very satisfied with it. The bonus is that it is just a little over a mile from where I live now, and that makes it easier. I looked at a room, and I liked it so much. It just seemed to be perfect, and it's super clean. I was impressed with the backdoor where my mom can step out and see the outdoors as a patio. The dining room looked splendid, it's like a fancy restaurant. The convenience, the walk-in shower with this ceramic bench in it, the pull strings by the toilet, and then the little microwave and the refrigerator in the kitchen area, so it looks so nice. The closet is huge, and it is perfect. I'm very, very impressed. The director is fantastic and the staff is nice too. Everything is just right. They have a pond in front. My mom grew up on a farm. The scenario is perfect for her. I met five of the staff members. The director introduced me to five of them, and I thought that was very nice, too. They were very nice and very cordial, and so I feel complete confident that it's the right place. Her room is spotless, her living area is spotless. My mom hasn't moved in yet even though it is her room now. Once I saw this, it was perfect for her, and I knew she would like it, and so I stuck with it."

"My husband is living now at Brookdale Stillwater. They did an evaluation of him before he came in, and once he gets acclimated, a couple of the charges might drop off. However, within a couple of weeks, they decided that he needed more care, and the charges that I thought was going to drop off actually doubled. Every couple of weeks, it seems like they're adding another $100 to $200. I like the people, the staff, and the management, but they're corporate, so they have rules, books, and guidelines. Every time they raise the price, you're not really getting value for your money. The basic is supposed to include overseeing showering whether it is setting him up or reminding him. Then they said he needs more help because he might slip, so that's another fee. I hate to have my husband re-acclimate to another community because he has gotten some friends there. The rooms are pleasant, too. You have a little kitchenette, a little living area, a bedroom, and a bathroom. However, the food has been debatable. They don't use a lot of fresh and vegetables. However, everything is nutritionally sound. Overall, I would give this place a 5. They have a nice outdoor courtyard, which is really why I picked the place in the first place. There are things that they probably should keep up with, but it doesn't affect safety. They have some exercise program, and they got a new director."

"My wife and I toured Arbor House of Midwest City. We liked the quality of the living conditions. The service of the person who took us on the tour is high quality. The place is nice and beautiful. And the people are nice. We went there for a place to stay of a quality that we could accept and that was there. The offer for full service and programs of outreach going out into the city occasionally are the things that were very attractive to us. Some things were available inside assisted living that would keep us occupied like educational opportunities and social atmosphere. The location is so convenient for everything like shopping. There are auto mechanics and service stations, too. Everything is so convenient. I live right on the same street."

"I toured Legacy Village of Stillwater. It wasn't like an elderly place. It was more like a vacation. It had a resort feel, a grand welcome, was very clean, and smelled good. Everybody's happy. It was very nice. I would have been honored to live there. They had private dining and all. It had a grand piano, a big winding staircase, and the elevators were just one up. It has nice, wide hallways, different places you could sit, and a golf course that wraps around it."

"We toured Glade Avenue Assisted Living. It was very clean. The memory care part was very open, and there was a lot of space for people to meet and converse, which I did not find in other places. The rooms were very good size. The lady who took me around was very, very nice. They did a lot of things with their residents, and they had a lot of rooms where they could all meet, like watch TV, and they took them on excursions. I just liked it. I was very impressed with it. They have single rooms and shared rooms."
