I was at Autumnwood Nursing & Rehab Center. I felt good about the care I got. The staff member that worked with me had a good personality. But they didn't have any activities other than bingo. Everybody was in slow motion and I'm not ready to slow down that much yet. I just wasn't ready for a nursing home. There was a very nice lady, her name was Kimberly, I got my haircut for $10, she was a very nice lady. So they have a lady that will do your nails and your hair. But the kitchen needed some better staff. There were a few meals that were good, but the majority of them were borderline, and there were a few of them that were terrible. What I dislike is the doctor. I was there for about a month and he talked to me for about six minutes out of the month. My physical and occupational therapists did their job. They were prompt, they helped you, and they were professionals. The nurses were OK, but I didn't like the doctors. They didn't come very often. The food was terrible, too. The place was nice and clean. It was attractive. It had everything you needed like bright lights, walkers, and wheelchairs, but they didn't make your bed every day or every other day, and they only give you two showers a week. I took my own, so I took four.

Autumnwood Nursing & Rehab Center was an excellent facility and I was impressed. They give pretty good one-on-one care. Everything looks nice. The cafeteria looks nice and they provide some pretty decent meals for them. They also have a lot of activities to keep them busy. The staff is personable, very knowledgeable, and very helpful as far as answering questions and showing us around. They had a workout gym, a nice large room where they can go and do exercises. Physical therapists were also there. In the center of the facility, there's a concrete patio area with a flower garden and grill. They also have benches where you could go out on a nice sunny day and sit. It was a nice outside recreation area.

Autumnwood has taken such great care of my family. The nurses are so caring and compassionate and the STNA's go out of their way on a daily basis. Everyone has been wonderful. I'm so glad we chose Autumnwood.

Autumnwood is great! We placed my uncle there. The building has been around for some time, but they have updated it so that it looks amazing inside. They have a beautiful courtyard that my uncle was albe to walk freely in and out of. My uncle had dementia, so that was a huge positive. The nursing staff was so accomodating. I can't thank them enough for the services they provided when we needed help.

I'm a spinal cord rehab patient, and I'm a veteran also. The Veterans Administration is paying for my stay here. It's nothing out-of-pocket for me. The rehab here at Autumnwood is outstanding, and it is a fantastic place to rehab at. I went from being wheelchair bound when I got here after surgery to walking on a walker by May, and then in September or October they had me up on a cane briefly, and that is a real testimony to the fact that I was seriously disabled when I got here and they really got me up and walking. It's a small nursing home -- less than 100 beds total -- and in a country setting near a very small town. It is quiet outside, and the people here are very friendly, very nice, and easy to get along with. I have my own room, and the food is good. The nursing staff is exceptional. They have a lot on their hands, and they do a fantastic job of getting the meds and taking care of the needs of the patients. The aides -- I just can't say enough about them -- are dedicated to the work that they do. They really have a love for the patients here.

While they are dealing with a older building, the staff are really caring and make you feel at home. New managment has seemed to have really turned things around.

My father is currently a long term resident of Autumnwood Nursing & Rehab Center in Rittman Ohio. We have found the nursing staff to patient ratio inadequate. The furniture is old and torn, old torn wallpaper on the wall, the sink is so nasty in the room and the place is filthy. The halls smell so badly we have to cover our noses as we walk through. We have found my father half dressed, naked, and dressed in others clothing. We have found him covered in urine (even his shirt), covered in stool and with a cup of water dated from the previous day. We have found the bedside commode full of stool, where they simply close the lid and walk away. My father has a bedsore he did not have before going to this facility. The food looks so nasty. Please!! Do not put your loved one in this facility. There are many nicer ones to choose from. If I were the one to decide my fathers fate, I would have him out of there today. :(

My uncle was at Autumnwood for rehab. He had excellent nursing care and the therapy department was great! He was very happy there and so was our family. If he ever needs a nursing facility again, we will choose Autumnwood!
