We would not recommend this care facility unless you can be there daily and see what is going on. They do not communicate with the family. They do not answer their phone, my husband was here in the respiratory unit and ventilator dependent. When he arrived the respiratory therapist took him off of the trilogy that he was to be on and put him on a full blown ventilator stating that it was needed. Took them a month and a half to get him back on the trilogy that he was supposed be on from the beginning. The majority of the nurses are very rude and degrading to the family. Cherise is the worst of all nurses!!! She treats you like you are stupid and she is high and mighty. Lauren will cuss you for calling and checking on your loved one. The only one that I can say treated us like we should be treated is the activities department! The activities lady allowed us to FaceTime twice a week because we lived 5 hours away from the center. So all in all do not place your loved one in this facility unless you are going to be present daily to make sure your loved is being cared for the way they should be treated.

On June 19, 2017 I entered Heather Hill Rehab in Chardon, Ohio after a Spinal Fusion surgery. I had 35 staples in my back. On June 22, 2017 very late at night I needed help going to the bathroom. I had a private room with my own bathroom. I was told I needed to have someone near me so I didn't fall. I push the call button and asked for help. My door opened up and way down at the end of the hall Two African American women were there. One was very tall and big and her co worker was shorter. The Taller woman came into my room. I had pulled myself up to sit up on the side of my bed and she came toward me, cupped me into her arms, lifted me up in the air and air dropped me over my bed. Her co-worker said come on Ruby we have things to do and so she left. I was terrorized because I had 35 staples in my back fresh from back surgery. My nurse came in and I told her what happened and she said well you're not her patient and I said whoa if I'm not her patient why did she come into my room and you don't treat patients like that. She never took me to the bathroom. Than even later I was meeting with the Admissions Director and told her what happened and all she did was cock her head at an angle and never said a word. I said is that it? You cock your head and don't say a word one way or another. What is going on in this place. Not my nurse or the admissions director asked how are you, let's check your back. There was no concern for me at all. There was no mention of writing up an incident report which I had no idea you could do that. I called my husband and told him what happened and that he had to get me out of that place immediately. So by luck the next morning by noon I was out of that horrid place. Please don't go there. It was so horrible.

The facility is seriously lacking in upgrades. The care from staff seems vaguely perfunctory; staff in dementia ward were just plain uninterested and annoyed at being asked to provide a service. This place needs a nutritionist who wants to give patients healthy choices, not fried chicken nuggets and dirty white rice with horribly over cooked vegetables. The facility desperately needs a thorough cleaning and brightening up; take down all the cheap party decorations.

The staff and especially the therapists were excellent! I went to Heather Hill unable to stand or walk, and ten weeks later I walked out under my own power. I highly recommend them. I am very grateful to the people of Heather Hill for helping me get my life back. They became like family to me.

The staff is friendly. However, they are slow to respond to patients needs. Food is okay. Took patient to Geauga Hospital from this facility and they removed MANY litres of fluid that had been building up for about a week. It was pointed out multiple times to the staff with no concern from them.
