Describe the overall population of assisted living residents at The Residence of Chardon. What is their average age? What are their favorite things to do?
The residents at The Residence of Chardon are very social, and enjoy spending their days visiting with one another, or attending one of the many social or recreational opportunities available to them. Most residents are in their 80's or 90's, and are moving from their own homes in the Chardon area, or greater Geauga County community.
What programs or activities does The Residence of Chardon offer to enrich residents' well-being?
The Residence of Chardon offers a variety of social and recreational programs designed to enhance and support physical, spiritual, intellectual and psychological well-being. Residents enjoy daily exercise, crafts, bible study, music, games and socialization opportunities.
What places are near The Residence of Chardon or within walking distance for assisted living residents to enjoy?
The Historic Square in Chardon offers numerous boutique shops, restaurants, coffee houses, and many antique stores. The library is located on the square and also comes to the community regularly for personalized service.
What transportation services does The Residence of Chardon offer to assisted living residents?
The Residence of Chardon offers group outings and bus rides for resident's enjoyment.

The Residence of Chardon is known for its homestyle meals and friendly dining room. The Director of Dining Services has been with The ROC for many years and puts extra love and attention into every meal she serves.
What safety features or security measures does The Residence of Chardon offer to assisted living residents?
The Residence of Chardon is a secured building, Visitors gain access via the front door and must be "buzzed" in. Each resident wears a pendant that serves to alert staff immediately if assistance is required. All outdoor areas such as our patio are enclosed for additional safety.
How does The Residence of Chardon keep residents' families informed about their loved ones?
The Residence of Chardon has a formal service plan process, involving residents and their family members in the development and evaluation of the services being provided. The residents and their families are kept up to date and informed of the day to day happenings of the community by a community newsletter, email communications, bulletin board and open dialog between ROC staff and family members.

Residence of Chardon employees receive ongoing training on senior care, including, but not limited to: Alzheimer's disease, Mental Illness, Resident Rights, Universal Precautions and infection control, Customer Service, Disaster Preparedness, Privacy and Confidentiality.
