"The staff were very helpful and friendly at the Bristol Nursing Home. I am a contract caregiver who visited this facility on behalf of a former patient's family, and I was very impressed with the staff members' attentiveness and friendliness as I interacted with my client. Although the facility may not be an ideal place for an elderly and sick person, the staff make up for it by turning it into a positive experience with food, attention, and just sitting to talk with the clients - which most places don't do. "Although not as upscale as an assisted living facility, this nursing home impressed me tremendously. My father would visit weekly to pastor to the elderly, who enjoyed it thoroughly. When I went with him, they always seemed happy, cheerful, and it took away the "nursing home" feeling that I usually get when entering such a place. The atmosphere makes up for any nursing home label that can be put on the Cambridge House. "

"We chose Rehab Center and Memory Care at Bristol for my father because of its reviews and the level of care it provides. My father went into rehab recently. As far as I know, and I'm doing this long distance, is that they have been very responsive and very helpful. My father has moved into a new room, but the old room he was in looked spacious, well lit, and well taken care of. My father is still in rehab and he will be moving into memory care in the near future. It would be skilled nursing memory care. My father seems to like the food."

"We had Mom in a nursing home at the Waters of Bristol. They were awesome. They took very good care of her while she was there. They gave her therapy. There were activities going on all the time there. Even though she might not participate all the way, they still took her there in a wheelchair, and she enjoyed what she could with it, so it was awesome. They offered a variety of good, nutritious meals. They always had something different. The food was good. There were no complaints on our part with the food. I've been in some nursing homes, and I've visited with some relatives, and with close friends, and they were never as good as this one. It just was unreal. Her room was beautiful. They had three different seating areas. They had an outdoor courtyard, that was gorgeous, with a covered picnic area. It was just lovely and well kept. We used their laundry service and it was good. They transported their residents to their doctor visits if needed. They had a transportation van that they use, and Mom went several times with it and it went well."

"My dad is at Wexford House. When I last visited, the thing that struck me first was how clean the nursing home was compared to some I have seen. It was exceptionally clean. Daddy was clean, his hair had been washed and combed. This is a man who has very bad dementia. He was having hallucinations when I was there. His clothes were clean and there were no stains of food or anything like that on them. They also had him sitting up erect in the geri chair. He looked as good as he could. The only person I talked to was the receptionist and the social worker that day. I have talked to a nurse that told me what was going on that day on his chart and everything. They have kept me informed on how well he's eating and his general condition. They also called me the other day to tell me about an auxiliary person on the staff, not someone who interacted with any of the patients, had tested positive for COVID. They keep you informed on anything like this. They also told me he had a small bruise, where he had hit something. But that's not unusual. He's just knocking himself into things. He's not doing it as much now because he's not mobile anymore. My dad is almost 95-year-old who is in the late stages of Alzheimer's and there are certain things I expect. I'm not surprised he is no longer having violent spills, which was good, but they have kept me updated on things. I'm five hours away and I've only been in there twice now because of Covid and everything. There have been no visitors. I did not see his room. Because of COVID, they were keeping visitors in the lobby. They had a space set up in the lobby for visitors. I did see a room there three years ago when he was in rehab. I can say overall the place is very clean and this is something I notice a lot. He has always been clean, and the room was neat. At the time, he was mobile and there was nothing he could trip or fall over. I talk weekly to the social worker. I also talk to a nurse about every other week. The receptionist was very nice when I got there. I know that they get him up into the geri chair every day, so he doesn't lay in the bed."

"As a RN of 19 years, I haven't EVER seen a better Healthcare facility. The owner/administrator treats the residents like little babies& also, treats the families& friends of residents as part of her own family. She sees to it that her staff does the same. I had a grandmother pass away there& now, my other grandma is in there for what we had thought was just temporary. Owner prayerfully chooses the best staff around. I have also been told that she treats her employees better than any facility around. Love this family! They go out of their way to make sure that both the resident& family will be less worried & also to see that they are treated with dignity& respect. It is a difficult situation2have to c a family member be in a nursing home, but this staff gives you peace of mind! I could go on& on! "

"I like NHC Kingsport. It is a rehab place and was more like an assisted living place. People go there to recuperate if they had breaks, and my husband was over there when he broke his hip. I was very impressed, and they've got quite big rooms. The food was wonderful, they had a chef that makes three really nice meals a day. The insurance pays for it for a hundred days. They had a library, an activities director, and every day they had something going on like bingo and church services. The staff's name I think was Melissa, and I was in contact with her."

"I feel as if this facility does a great job of caring for my grandmother. She is always as happy as one can be living in a facility like this. Every time we visit she is well taken care of, clean, pain-free, comfortable, and well fed. The nurses and assistants and kind and caring, and I feel they do an exemplary job of caring for their patients. The only reason I give this facility four stars instead of five is I feel it's a bit cramped, but that's not such a big deal since my grandmother is happy. "

"I toured Hermitage Health and Rehabilitation for my mom. It was a much newer facility than many I've seen. I think that the physical appearance of the place, outside especially, was more attractive than your average place. It is also in a very good location. It's up on a steep hill, so, in wintertime, and you want to go visit somebody there, you need to know how to drive in winter conditions and on a steep hill. Nonetheless, I think it's a very nice place for the residents. Now, the only potential downside or potential negative is that I noticed it was extremely crowded. I just felt like they had a lot of patients. When I visited, it was a time for them to be out socializing and not be in their rooms, so the hallways were full of people. When my mom was moved out of rehab and into long-term care without having applied for Medicaid yet, they kind of stopped helping. I wasn't happy with that. When they thought they were going to have my mom as a resident, they were very nice and very helpful. But when she got moved out of rehab up in the place where she is now in Kentucky, that made it impossible to transfer here under Medicare. And so they just kind of dropped it. They said there's nothing they can do. And I was hoping they'd have been more helpful. The place is not brand new, but it looked new and it looked nice and clean."

"I'm currently at Hillview Health Center for rehab. It is a very nice facility. The upkeep is very, very good. The rooms are nice. They have a little gym at the top area here for the rehab part, and it's very nice and up-to-date. They decorate very nicely. Like right now, they decorate for the autumn and also specifically some little Halloween stuff, and they do a super job of it. They have a wonderful staff, from top to bottom. They're very, very patient-oriented and they are largely hometown staff from here in Elizabethton and the surrounding areas. Most patients are from this area, so they have a great rapport with the patients. They are very caring people. When you request assistance for anything, they're right on it. They do a nice job and they are very professional. The nursing staff is very professional, as are the doctors. And the CNAs are very well trained and they do a great job. Food is just like typical institutional food and it's not going to be like dining out in a restaurant. Upstairs, they have more of a permanent population. So, they have activities every day for those folks. I'd participate a couple of times a week when they have a little group exercise thing."

"I had several family members who stayed at this facility and received excellent care! My mom had rehab after her surgery for breast cancer and went home in better shape than she was before her surgery! My grandfather stayed there twice and loved it both times! Excellent care and healed the wounds on his legs before he left and he had them for a long time! My great aunt stayed there and received wonderful care staff kept me informed of everything that happened with them and was always kind and compassionate and I would never send my family anywhere else! "My mother-in-law moved to Life Care Center of Gray. From my experience, the nurses have been very nice and helpful. She's in the memory care unit. They have a good security barcode entry to the door. So, no one can accidentally wander out or any of that. They gave us a code so we could visit and everything. The places are in great shape. There are no complaints there. They have it laid out like a long hallway with all their rooms. At the front, most of the residents hang out in the dining room, with plenty of tables, and they have another room that's kind of like a game room, TV room, and all that. My mother-in-law has made good friends with one already. I think the only thing that can be improved is cleanliness. The bathrooms could be cleaned a little more often or better. The staff, they've seemed very good with the residents, they've been very helpful, very patient, and they've been very great with us. They answered our questions and took the time. They inventory everything, keep a log of all that, describing everything and, not just rushing through it."

"The main reason why I chose this facility is because they provide rehabilitation service and therapy 7 days a week. And I'm really impressed with their therapist. They are really nice and take good care of my mom. We were looking forward that she'll be out of the facility in 2 weeks time since she is improving every day. I'll definitely recommend this center for those people as well who are looking for rehabilitation service. "

"My grandmother is now in Princeton Transitional Care and Assisted Living, it's nice. It's newer, they offer 24-hour nursing care, and they do the meals. I liked it because it was all one price, while in a lot of places, it's like a la carte so there are a lot of different fees for different things that they do. And here, everything is already included like help with dressing, showers, and all of that stuff is all included in one price. It's not like where they'll suddenly start adding additional costs as they need additional care, so I like that option. They have different room options. She's in a studio apartment, so it's one big room and she has a nice-size bathroom that's handicap accessible, with a walk-in shower, and a nice built-in seat. And then it has a little kitchenette with almost a full-size refrigerator, they provide the refrigerator and a microwave. There's a lot of cabinet space and a little sink, it's a nice little kitchenette. All of them have windows looking either outside or into the courtyard. They also offer two rooms and stuff like that, but she's just in a studio. The staff has been very attentive and very helpful. When I call and check on her, I'll call the nurse's station, and I've always been able to get through to somebody every time I've called. The food smells and looks good but I haven't tried any of it. On Wednesday nights, they do wine and music, then they have a church service every Sunday, and they had a whole calendar of activities. They do things like cards and a lot of different stuff."

"We Love Nova. My 96 year old Mom is at Nova and we are extremely pleased. It has the best rehab in the area. The LPN's are some of the best . I have been involved in other nursing homes, assisted living facilities and therapist for the past 25 years with other family members. Mom was in another one across the state line and I removed her after 6 weeks. Nova cares. The nurses go beyond the call of duty. The CNA's are excellent. They are there because they care about the residents. The activity director is engaging and the laundry, the cleaners, maintenance are also friendly and ready to help. It is our hometown nursing home and lots of us know many residents and they all say positive things about their stay. I am there twice a day so I can honestly say I am more than pleased. Thank you, Nova. "
