"Forest Park Health Campus is wonderful. I couldn't be happier. The staff members all go above and beyond. They're kind and loving. They're just super. My mother feels as if she is at home. Their food is wonderful. I have eaten with her several times. They give them plenty of time to eat. They're well-balanced meals. There are lots of their favorite things in their age group. There are lots of choices too. I can't say enough about it. Today they took a trip to Walmart to go shopping. Every day they have something musical with someone playing the piano, or singing, or there's a sing-a-long. They do lots of group exercising, they have movie nights once a week, they have wonderful church services, they play cards, and games, they do crafts, and there's cooking twice a week. Going to Forest Park Health Campus with my mother has made a big decision much easier. She is so much healthier and able to get up and do things that she wasn't able to do before."

"My grandmother was placed in this nursing home and was treated with the best care. Everyone was very friendly and really cared about getting her back to her normal daily activities. She is home now and can do the activities she is used to before her fall. When/if the time comes I will deffinately place her at Harborside New Lebanon! "

"My uncle seem to like it in Golden LivingCenter. The nurses treat him well. The facility is pretty clean, people seem nice, and they help you out. "

"My 62 yr old brother has cerebral palsy and could no longer live with our parents. He moved to Brookhaven one month ago. We are extremely pleased with that decision. He is adjusting well and I attribute that to the caring nurses and aides that tend to his daily needs. I have never witnessed such caring people. They work very hard to help him integrate into the community. In addition the facility is very clean which was very important to me, my mother and of course my brother. As for the food I am told they are hiring a new chef so hopefully that will resolve itself. Finally in response to the dog comment the dog does not live there. He is brought in by his owner to visit the residents. Sweet well behaved dog. "

"My wife is in Heritage House of Richmond. It's been a very positive experience. She's eating very well now. She's sleeping normal hours, and they're giving her rehab to try to get her a little bit stronger. They, like all nursing homes, have restrictions by their owners as far as visiting. I'm able to see her fifteen minutes a day through a prescheduled visit. We're hoping pretty soon we'll be able to take her out for the day. They're kind of restricted by the owners. She seems to be thriving very well -- a lot better than she did while she was at home with aides. As far as the building and everything, it's not the newest around, but my father and mother had both been there, and I liked the care that they received. It's close to home, which helps. I think I made the right choice. My wife can have her hair done any time she wants. If she wants anything from the store, they go get that for her. She had her nails painted the other day. They have activities like bingo, music, and things like that, but COVID is kind of restricting things. Once restrictions are lifted, they will take field trips and things like that to get them out of the building and have some fun. She can have a beautician do her hair; she just has to request it. The staff has been very good. They showed her a lot of care. They try to accommodate me as much as possible on visits and things like that. I appreciate them so much that I took them donuts today. I think she's doing very well where she's at. She enjoys the food, and she says she likes everything they bring her. The facility is good. It's one level and they have two different wings. They have birds in a cage, and the residents can interact with them. It's not the newest in town, but it seems to be very well kept. If you mention anything to them at all, they're on top of it right away. She's in a private room. When she went in, the bathtub dripped. It was nothing major, but she mentioned it to them and they had it fixed in no time. I think they try very hard to do a good job. Right now, they don't have nearly as much as they did in the past -- or are going to in the future -- but from everything that they've talked about, they've done day trips and things like that in the past. They'll be able to actually take them shopping if they want. They try very hard, but they're limited as far as things that they can do right now. They had musicians come in and play for them and things like that, but they can't because of COVID right now. I think once things get to normal, it'll be a lot better. It is a good value. My wife has extended-care insurance, but I had to pay for the first three months before insurance started to pay. They're very competitive with the others I checked with, too -- so much so that she's able to have a private room by herself."

"My mother was at The Springs of Richmond. I was very happy with her recovery there. The rooms were nice. They had all kinds of services. They had physical therapy and a nice dining area where everybody goes to eat. The rooms all have their bathrooms, and it's very private. They bring in some acoustic guitar or piano player or something every once in a while, like on a Thursday or Friday night, for them to go down to this area to congregate and listen to music. It was very nice. It was the first time I'd seen my mother sit with other people and be social in such a long time. I was very happy with that. They were very attentive. Mom enjoyed the food. She always raved about how good the food was there. They encourage socialization, to get out and eat in the common area, or to participate in things and stuff like that because that leads to a better quality of life. Their goal was to not let people just lay around in their rooms but they get them out and get them socially active and stuff."

"This is a smaller facility which means better care, in my opinion. My Mother is here and everyone is wonderful to her. They are very communicative with me. The Social worker and activity director are both amazing. My Mother is always included even though her mental status has declined. She is dressed every day, her hair brushed. I am so thankful to have them care so much. This facility is not fancy, but it is clean and taken care of. The local town had a loss of power for almost 10 hours, but Astoria has a generator so they were fine!"

"The first impression of this Resident home was How small it was. The rooms were smaller than the room I had as a teen at my parents house. The facility is clean and expresses a friendly environment. I also noticed that everytime I visited it seemed as though they were understaffed. Never enough employees there to provide a safe level of care. Patients ranged from Semi-independent to completely dependant. Some of the residents had dirty fingernails and messy hair, but others seemed very well groomed. My biggest fear was that the administrator seemed to have no idea how to make the place function properly. I actually filed a complaint because I noticed how he mistreated the staff and even a few residents. Most of the nurses and CNA's seemed to be knowledgeable and skilled, but also seemed burnt out and frustrated. I don't believe I would choose to allow a family member to reside there. "

"Pristine Senior Living and Post-Acute Care of Oxford was convenient because of its location. It seemed like it would be the perfect place. It was very nice and clean. The room was pretty spacious with room to move around. "

"This is a great place. This facility is home to me and everyone here is my family. I can talk to the staff and they address any issues I have. Everyone here is kind and caring. Facility is cleaner than other facilities I have seen. Definitely would recommend the facility."

"As far as I could see, the facilty was a friendly, clean, and safe environment for the seniors. My experience was a pleasant, and I can also say the same for our family friend. she seemed very happy, and comfortable. The staff accommodated me right when I walked in the door. the customer service was excellent. The nurses were very professional, and were right there when our friend needed them. In order to get help from the nurses, she could use her call light, and a nurse would be right there at her beck and call. I especially love the activities the facility provided. Our friend would play bingo, watch movies, and eat very well. The food is tastey, it wasn't your typical nursing home food. Sometime the facility was get food catered from well known resturants. The clean up crew does a really good job with keeping our friend's room clean, and changing her linens regularly. I really don't have any complaints so far. I would recommend this facility to anyone. After hearing all the horror stories from other people, about the other nursing home facilities, I was pleased with this facility. "
