"My husband has been at Maria Joseph since February, they took him when no one else would at the time. He was having behavioral problems, they have worked with him to stabilize meds and he is doing well. I don't know what I would do without Maria Joseph, their staff are all wonderful, caring, compassionate people. His care has been exceptional Not a day goes by when I don't thank God I found Maria Joseph Care Center!"

"I live in Mercy Siena Gardens in independent senior living. I'm having a good experience, and I like my apartment. We have carry-in dinners, play games, and have a bus that takes us to the grocery store. They have exercise classes, but I don't do them. We have our own nurse, chapel, and exercise room. "

"We chose Brookhaven Nursing Center because it is what my mom liked. Everything seems fine. It is about the nicest nursing home I have ever seen. I have had some of their food -- their food is OK. They take them on trips occasionally, they have Bingo in there and things like that. "

"I was a resident there following a total knee replacement for physical therapy. I can't say enough good things about the physical therapy department!! Especially Emma!! She pushed me to my limits every day but she helped me achieve my goals so I could go home. My only complaint about this facility is the FOOD!!! It wasn't the Cook's fault. They did the best they could with what they had. But irregardless of that I will be returning when I get my other knee done. Loved the staff. They went above and beyond for me. Would definitely recommend if you're needing an awesome physical therapy rehab. I had a large private room. "

"Vandalia Park nursing home has a decent but not extravagant outside appearance. The lobby is the first thing you notice when you walk in. The lobby has been updated and gives the appearance of a nice facility. My review for Vandalia Park is not good at all. I would not send anyone I remotely cared about to this place. Their cleanliness skills are hugely lacking. Housekeeping is not available at night, so if something happens or patients need something, there is a high risk they have run out. They also offer rehab, so there are individuals of all ages not just the ederly. There was stealing and theft occuring to the older residents. Some of the night aides would sleep and not check on their patients till the morning before the day shift came in. Overall, it's a horrible place lacking cleanliness, lack of supplies for patients, and criminal activity. I would advise anyone to check around and so their homework before considering placing a relative in a place like Vandalia Park. "

"We went to see Otterbein SeniorLife Tipp City. We looked at a duplex home where you live fairly independently, though you can get some help. You have to be assessed, and then they talk to you, and you can let them know how much help you need and what is available. I liked it. They also had long-term care, but what we looked at was the housing, the two-bedroom duplex. I was very impressed with everything I saw and the people I talked to. I think it's very good. We also have a history with them, with a family member who spent six years with them many years ago. Not this particular one, but in another city. That was nothing but really good care, so that was one of the reasons we went to see this place. The staff members who gave the tour were both very knowledgeable, very comfortable, and very warm, and perfect for their job."

"New Lebanon Center is very small and intimate. They have two nurses per patient just about all the time, while other senior places have two nurses for a whole floor. They provide better care. Every day they have exercises, singing, painting, quiet and reading time, they also have music concerts once a month. They have birthday parties for anyone who was born in that month. It's a lovely place. They also have lots of therapies and they stay busy all day long. They give the residents enough for two to three people to eat, just huge portions. They always have a fruit and vegetable, they always have protein, and they always have dessert; each one of them has fiber-rich dishes on their trays. The food tastes good, even though it doesn't have the spices in it that I would include, but it doesn't taste bad. If there's something they could improve on it's communication between the doctors and nurses. A lot of times the nurses don't know why the doctor is choosing certain things; it would mean better communication between the medical staff and people like me who wants to know. They do give me all the information, but it takes a long time to get it from the doctor to the nursing staff and for the nursing staff to call me. They only have 130 beds in the entire place, but they're really very good. They can do everything. They don't have to send the patients to the hospital for an IV, they take x-rays, and it's wonderful. All the patients get their bloodwork done every month to check their vitamin and hydration levels."

"I was at Widows Home of Dayton for a long time. It was good and they're very professional. They had bingo, arts and crafts, and church. If you were a permanent resident, you had to share a room. It was nothing on a grand scale, but my room was kept clean. The dining area was always kept nice and clean, and the food was good."

"My mother was admitted into this facility for congestive heart failure. She has been there for seven weeks and healthier than she has been in years. The nursing staff is very attentive to her needs, the therapy staff keeps her from giving up. They are a very kind medical staff and my mom doesn't mind being there at all. The facility is clean and orderly. LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I get more time with my mom."

"The tour of Sanctuary was fine, but I can’t afford to live there. The neighborhood is OK, and the grounds are clean and well-kept. The room is big enough and has a bathroom and shower with a little kitchenette for the refrigerator and microware. I saw the dining room, and it was nice. They have an ice cream parlor and Bingo. The staff is friendly. The residents look taken care of. "
