Vandalia Park nursing home has a decent but not extravagant outside appearance. The lobby is the first thing you notice when you walk in. The lobby has been updated and gives the appearance of a nice facility. My review for Vandalia Park is not good at all. I would not send anyone I remotely cared about to this place. Their cleanliness skills are hugely lacking. Housekeeping is not available at night, so if something happens or patients need something, there is a high risk they have run out. They also offer rehab, so there are individuals of all ages not just the ederly. There was stealing and theft occuring to the older residents. Some of the night aides would sleep and not check on their patients till the morning before the day shift came in. Overall, it's a horrible place lacking cleanliness, lack of supplies for patients, and criminal activity. I would advise anyone to check around and so their homework before considering placing a relative in a place like Vandalia Park.
