I was at the Laurels of Huber Heights for 2 weeks rehab after a stay in the hospital for a serious allergic reaction to a medicine. The staffers keep the place very clean. The Laurels smells well-cleaned, and I can testify they mopped and disinfected my bathroom and room daily. The dietary staff served good meals and were cheerful and prompt. They are not stingy with snacks for the residents. The nurses are excellent. They checked on my condition multiple times a day and cleaned out my wounds daily. They also saw thru the less than accurate notes of some of the hospital staffers, and adjusted my treatments accordingly so I would get proper treatment. The doctor there did likewise. The rehab therapists verified I could do physical tasks like cooking and housework, and ensured I lifted weights and walked and climbed stairs to get my strength back. They are cheerful go-getters. The admin people were good at making sure I got to medical appointments away from the facility. They also worked with my insurance people to ensure my treatment and coverage. And their placement agent had the integrity to visit me in the hospital at first to turn down my application for rehab. But when she saw the hospital staffers misrepresented my condition and attitude, she told my wfe and I that she would recommend The Laurels accept me as a rehab patient. I was allowed visitors, which they encouraged, and they also got me a stand so I could work with my laptop and get my taxes and paperwork chores done. They provided me with clean clothes and towels, and ensured I could shower safely. And the staffers respected my privacy. Everyone tried to help me.. And everyone tried to help the long-term care patients also! I would recommend The Laurels of Huber Heights without reservation. In fact, I have been doing so ever since I got out.

My brother was sent there for rehab but needs 24 hrs. Care. They won't come when he calls them and there is only one nurse there for 8 hours that know how to care for his wound. He has no one come in to care for him the other 17 hours. Don't send a loved one here if they need some care.

My wife did rehab for fractured hip at Laurels HH, All of the rehabilitation staff, nurses and aids were very good and courteous. I would recommend them for rehab.

My mom is at a skilled nursing center right now at The Laurels. She went there after she got out of the hospital, she had to have a hospital stay, because she had an unexpected like medical emergency. So then she went there after. Overall, it's good so far. They seemed to be helpful when I call them and ask about her. I haven't been able to go in there personally because they don't allow any visitors. There was one other person in the room with her, so she has like a roommate, that was like a room with a window, and a TV. They do rehab, so they have a gym for rehab. The location is good because it's close to where she used to live. It's not far from hospitals. It started with her Medicare, and now they're trying to switch her over to Medicaid, because her Medicare will not pay for that, and I don't have the money to pay for it. I think because of the area it is in, it works well for me, because I live close to it, and it's close to the hospital. The caretaker seemed good. The only drawback I think I have is like, there are times when I will call my mom's room phone, and not be able to get an answer, but they tell me sometimes she's sleeping, sometimes she's doing rehab, or out doing various things.

The Laurels at Huber Heights had a good rating, and it was near my home. The staff that dealt with my aunt were very good for the most part, but overworked. Their food was mediocre. It was OK, not that great. The most negative was that there was one bathroom for 4 people to share. The admission people were excellent as well as the reception people. They had nurses, and the aides were great.

My brother stayed in The Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Spring Creek. Their rooms were extremely small and extremely cluttered. They don't feel clean. If you have people come and see you, there is no space to go to. There are two areas for visitors but one of these areas is always filled with residents. So the other one where you could put the guests, of course, are always full as well. The biggest reason why we transferred him to another facility was their care. There were times where we had lots of complaints. Once my brother was sitting on a commode for an hour before somebody came for him. No one was mean or anything, it was their care. My brother also did log a complaint for his roommate because of how the aides were talking to his roommate who was totally invalid. So he logged a complaint on his behalf because he couldn't speak for himself. They do have activities there but he didn't participate in those things. I know they have bingo and some sort of bowling. The one thing that they did and I couldn't believe that they would do it, but once a week, they would order fast-food for people who paid for it and he loved that.

absolutely terrible! I believe that they are sedating the patients in the evening, so as not to be bothered.
