"Admitted my mom for post- stroke care and rehab. She's been to one other skilled nursing center and my family finds Windsor to be much better. The facility is well managed, the staff is very professional and outwardly caring, food seems fresh, and things are clean and neat. They have 2 nursing stations so patients are well supervised and their response time to patient needs is good. I've worked with a handful of the nurses there and they all seem knowledgeable. The area in Fullerton is safe and quiet."

"My father stayed in St. Jude Medical Center rehab for 2 weeks. It’s an acute rehab within an acute care hospital. It’s a very well respected program, and the staff was very good. They have very few wards where there are two or three beds. It’s clean and the rehab center is well run. They have all forms of rehab. They have OT, PT, and physical medicine. This was where we wanted him, and it worked out perfectly well. He went from the acute side to the rehab side so we never had to leave the building. "

"I went to visit a friend at Park Vista Health Center. She is recuperating from a broken hip. It's a lovely facility, but I hate computers, and I think they should just have people signed in. They have everything that I have noticed other facilities are having. The staff members are very helpful. Her room looks clean, and she seems comfortable. I didn't see a dining room, but there must be one. She's not able to get out of bed as far as the broken hip is concerned. I did notice some kind of physical therapy going on. The facility is very well maintained. I haven't had a meal and she doesn't have an appetite, but it looked good. There's a library to the left of the front desk. She seems to be doing well. The other reason I noticed that it might be a good idea to just have people signed in (and I realize with Covid they have to take your temp) is because her son has epileptic seizures and he was with me, and it takes him forever to use the computer to put his name and phone number and so forth. They helped, which was very kind of them. I also noticed a gentleman that had probably come to see a friend or a relative (he's about my age and I'm 80), so sometimes it would be better if they could speed things up, so people don't have to stand there."

"I visited a close friend of mine who's loving his stay at St. Elizabeth. The staff were super welcoming and friendly and checked in on my friend often. He said the food was better than expected with lots of variety and felt he was recovering faster than expected too. His follow up doctors have all been impressed with his progress. The facility smelled nice and seemed very clean. I'm glad there are people that are passionate about elderly care, and I feel safe with him at St. Elizabeth. "

"When we visited Gordon Lane Care Center, our experience was very nice. We got all the information that we needed and a lot of positive feedback. The residents look happy. The staff seemed very pleasant and competent in what they were doing. They are very involved with their patients. I would recommend them to other people looking for the same kind of facility. There is a possibility that we will transfer my mom in this facility. "

"I have toured this facility. It is a locked facility specializing in patients with dementia. It is clean and well maintained. It seems safe and is located on a nice quite street. Located w/ in minutes of a large hospital. Nice walkways and couryards. It seems homelike and all the staff are courteous, well trained in dementia care. They have a bird aviary. The patients seem happy and well cared for. The downside is that it is not very close to shopping. I would consider this facility for a loved one who wanders and it is one of the very few secured faciilities in Orange County. "

"The hospital took my mom to La Palma Nursing Center. It's a small facility, but she likes it there very much because it was very clean and orderly. The staff were very friendly. They talk to her and they didn’t ignore her like in the other places that she has been. She was in a private room at first and then she went into a two bedroom with a roommate. It was more than adequate; very nice room. My mom is not yet ready to participate with their activities. I was able to see their breakfast one time and it’s a very typical breakfast. My mom likes the breakfast food, but the rest of the food, she says she did not like it so much. "

"My aunt is at Park Regency Care Center. This is her second rehabilitation, and compared to the other place, the room is smaller. They don't have a cabinet for their stuff, which is why my aunt is confused where her clothes are. She got there Monday afternoon, but they don't have rails, and she is not stable with her balance. They put the rails up the next day. And because she already has dementia, they keep letting her call us until 10:30 in the evening. I know it's hard, but they cannot control her. That's why we talked to the staff and the nurse. Sometimes in a day she would call six or eight times. She is in a shared room. The first time my aunt had physical therapy, the physical therapist told me that she's doing OK. She's ambulatory, it is just the memory. She is really getting forgetful, and her dementia is getting worse. I saw their calendar of activities and it is full. The problem is my aunt. She doesn't like to participate, especially if it's in a new place. That's why we encourage her to socialize. But even when we encourage her, she is already forgetful."

"I would not recommend Harbor Villa Care Center to anyone. My mom was there for four or five weeks and she was sent there by the hospital. Although they took great care in making sure everybody was COVID-free, my mother fell during her stay there, and then she developed a sore that was never able to be cured. So, that was on their watch. The main caregivers were inexperienced. That's why mom fell because the lady didn't know enough to call for help, to assist her in moving my mother to the bathroom, for example. I said to her that she should have just changed her on the bed or called for help. Communication was also a factor in the low rating. The activities were very limited. Due to my mother's condition, she wasn't particularly participating. She was left sitting for long, long periods of time, which was why she developed a sore on her body. The atmosphere was just depressing. The food looked pretty good, though."

"I visited Kindred frequently when my brother was admitted there. I was very pleased with the facility and staff. My family was kept up to speed on what was happening with my brother, such as how he was progressing with physical and speech therapy. The staff members were very friendly and also were very knowledgeable as to what was occuring with their patients. The facility overall was very clean and pleasant, the lobby contained an aquarium and the room in which my brother was staying has a flowers and colorful plants outside. An aspect which i enjoyed at Kindred was that they allowed pets to visit. I was able to bring my brother's dog to visit him and we could tell how happy it made my brother. The only negative aspect that i feel should be mentioned is that the woman who works at the front desk constantly had a man hanging around, we thought it may have been her boyfriend. Another downside is that the facility is very large and the hallways can be confusing. Overall, Kindred provided a great facility for my brother along with a helpful staff. "
