"The building and everything at Morningside of Raleigh looked very nice. I liked that it had a big open entrance. It was cheerful. So, the very positive part of the tour experience was the openness of the building and everything was attractive. The staff just seemed a little busy, and I can't fault them for that."

"What I like most about Brighton Gardens of Raleigh is the residents. They were so pleasant that you knew they had to be happy there to be that pleasant. The atmosphere is also very pleasant, and they're attentive to any of your concerns. Suzanne helped us and she was great. Anybody we saw interacted with us and they were very pleasant. They were having a social that afternoon, and several times they invited us to stop by if we could, and we just couldn't do it, but they really encouraged that. Everything was very clean and very nice. I was pleased with it."

"The staff at Abbotswood at Stonehenge seemed like they care. The ones that I talked to seemed to have a passion for caring for their people. They had long-term employees and they recognized them with pictures on the walls and stuff. It was clean and it looked like they had some good activities."

"My husband has moved into Avendelle at Lazy River. This place is phenomenal. They have been the sweetest walkers and caregivers, and it's run by a great man, Darren. My husband seems to fit right in. I'm just amazed by these people. They have listened to everything I've said, and they've tried everything they can. He's adapted so well there. It felt warm and it felt like a home and I thought he would like that better than a hospital-looking place. This is a locked facility, but it was like a home. He can walk into the kitchen and he has done so well. The staff updates me every day, "He's done great today," "He was such a joy today." I can't say anything wrong about this facility. This facility is amazing to me. I know they have puzzles, they have building stuff, and they take them out for walks. He got there at 1:30, and they warmed the food up and they gave him chips, a nice, good old ham and cheese sandwich, and cookies. They gave him iced tea until he pushed it away, he said, "I'm full." I just can't say anything, but wonderful things about this place. When the morning shift gets off, they empty all the trash, mop all the floors, and they clean the kitchen and all the bathrooms before they leave. It has been spotless every time I've been there. It was the best price of any place I went to. It was clean. The staff is wonderful, and they're hands-on. They check on him every five minutes. The price was reasonable."

"I toured The Manor at Edgewater. The bedrooms were in complete disarray. The lady who met us was clearly in poor health and she could barely walk. She was older and said, 'It's just me, 24/7.' The kitchen was beautiful and clean, but the bedrooms were not. There's no housekeeping, and the people there have to take care of their rooms. The rooms were semi-private with shared bedrooms."

"My mother-in-law was a resident at Lynn's Care Home at Riverside. We were very happy with the level of care she received while she made her home there. Ann Marie is very responsive and her staff are very caring and attentive to the residents. The care team to resident ratio is not something you will find at a big box and the familial atmosphere makes it feel warm and home-like. After this experience, this is the only type of residence I would consider and Lynn's Care Home at Riverside is second-to-none. Thank you for the wonderful care you and your team provided!"

"We chose Woodland Terrace for ourselves. It is away from the very busy streets, so it's very quiet. It's just 2 blocks from Trader Joe's and all those places where I buy fruits. To me, the location was great. We only have 180 residents. We have a pond with a walking trail and ducks on it. The people here are extremely friendly. I just came back from a friendship committee where I am a volunteer. There are a few things that I would personally want different. But to me, the things that were of high concern were the heated pool, the walking space, the fact that it's not too big, and the freedom we have in this community. We have breakfast. You just get bacon and eggs and other choices. By 11:30, we have lunch. If you want dinner, you pay an additional $200. We cannot eat two of these meals. It's impossible. We eat fruit in the evenings and that's good. They offer the activities that I need and they have good facilities here."

"My sister is in Spring Arbor of Cary. It has a nice appearance. It's clean. The staff are very friendly, they're knowledgeable and it seems like they care about the patients. They have a country kitchen where they can cook. They do exercises and they do say that they'll take them out, but my sister has only been there for such a short time, so I haven't gotten to see all those things. They have a group dining room, which is good because then the patients get to see each other. The dining area looks like a restaurant with nice tables and stuff, and the food looks okay. It looks good. It's cut up so that they don't have to use knives or anything."

"My dad stayed at HeartFields at Cary. It was nice. The staff was awesome. The dining area was very nice. My dad was in the memory care section. They tried to offer enough activities to keep them busy, which I appreciated. It was one of the reasons why we went there. The room was what I would expect for a memory care unit, but it was clean. You provide your own furniture there. The biggest thing was that everybody in the staff there could not have been nicer to my dad. They actually seemed to really care about their residents. The food was very good for institutional food. The place was nice, efficient, and in good shape."

"I liked that Cadence Garner was all on one level. It had a very comfortable feeling to it and everyone there seemed to be very pleasant and happy. They were very helpful. The nurse smiled and talked with you, and I think that means so much. A lot of their residents had gone on a picnic at one of the parks close by, and I thought that sounded good too. The facility was very pretty. There was a lot of light."
