My rating for The Manor at Saratoga is based on what we were looking for. Somebody else might find it better. It seems like a small and confining space. Mom is a pretty sociable person and we don't think that would be a good fit for her. The residents that we saw just sat there, sort of like zombies, not communicating with anyone, not even each other. It was like a private house that was overcrowded. The space to move around was not adequate in my view. If my mom were to be there, she would share a room with somebody else. So, it just didn't seem right for her. We met the owner. Her husband was in the process of repairing a door knob. We didn't meet anybody else who was introduced to us as staff, but the interaction I had with the owner was pleasant.

I toured The Manor at Saratoga. The house was nice, the outside was nice, and there was a big backyard for the patients to go. When I was there, I met three staff, and the house was up to code. It had extra ventilation there. It had all the records, certifications, and everything. The issue I had was the house appeared to be too small. On one side of the house, a bedroom for two men. It was like two hospital beds, but the bedroom was really small and the beds were like one was lined up on one wall, one was a catty-corner on the other side. They had a wardrobe and a place to put the TV. It was very dark. They had a small kitchen table and a very small den that had nothing but recliners on both sides. I didn't see any activities for them. He said they had a little keyboard, so they do karaoke sometimes. It just didn't seem like a friendly atmosphere for the patients. The staff was very nice, very kind, and very informative.

We toured The Manor at Saratoga. We loved that it's only six residents, and it's in a private home setting. It didn't look like a nursing home. They talked about how they honor everyone's faith. The rooms were clean. There was no smell of urine or anything like that. The man we met truly cared, and you could just feel it. We didn't knock them out of the box yet, but the price is a little high for us. The staff member who accommodated us, Saidu, definitely made it for us.
