I went to The Addison to visit a friend. The rooms were nice. She had a bathroom and a shower in her room. It had a big window. The people were very nice and my friend was completely satisfied with the facility. She was very happy there. The dining area was also very nice, and well-lit, and there was plenty of room. The facility was very clean and very nice.

The staff at The Addison was very friendly and engaging. The look of the place is done very thoughtfully with very nice decor. It was very artfully 50s and 60s photographs and things, which would appeal to that age group and generation. The decor was homey and very comfortable. The facility itself was extremely clean and well laid out. They have a private chef who loves to cook and does her best to keep a nice, mixed heart-healthy menu.

The Addison was much better all the way around compared to another place I toured. The ratio was much higher. They had four or five people for 20 residents. The place looked good and it smelled good. The residents were doing multiple things. Some were making guacamole because it was Cinco de Mayo. Others were doing crafts and some were watching TV, but it was all spread out. The staff was very good. Everybody was outgoing. Even the ones we just passed in the hall were friendly and not necessarily about business. They were just engaging and nice.

My uncle moved into The Addison. The facility was clean and new. The staff was very helpful, nice, and accommodating. Once we got there, the actual medical professional staff was superb. They did a nice job with the activities. My loved one is well taken care of physically and socially. There was plenty of food, and it was served nicely in a nice area. It's not what I want, and it's not what I'm able to eat, but I'm not 90. What my uncle could have is appropriate for him. My uncle is a little younger than most residents, so he moves around at the pool table. He likes interacting with the young staff, baking cookies, and stuff like that.

We searched and searched. Addison is clean, well supervised. Served all of our changing needs from entry to final exit. Very strong communication experience. Food was good. Staff was professional and attentive and I feel they took personal responsibility in taking care of my loved one. Value for the money was excellent. They did what they said they would but they also went above and beyond as well as responded to all of my families' requests for extra attention. Room accommodated very well and it felt a bit like home. Activities were engaging. Recommend The Addison of Durham and am considering it right now for another family member

Terrible, terrible experience. We moved Mom out within the first month she arrived. Medical Director was in over her head and didn't know how to handle Mom's post-stroke behavior, kept changing the requirements for Mom's return after she tried to escape. Staff "recommended" -- but really insisted on -- another hospital where we were told they would adjust her medication. That hospital overmedicated her and did not watch her, so she fell. We moved her to an apartment with round-the-clock care. So much better. Buyer beware.

The Addison was smaller than the other facilities and had a nice home feel to it. They have a courtyard, little walking trails, a nice front porch, and a community area. The facility was beautifully kept, and I'm just very impressed by the entire structure. I met their sales rep who was very knowledgeable and very personable.

My mom is at The Addison of Durham. Her care is excellent. They have such caring staff, and she gets one-on-one attention. She was able to get a private room for an awesome deal, better than any of the other places that I called. The people have been amazing, and she absolutely loves it. Her room is huge. She has a double bed with a chest drawer, she has a big wardrobe, two tables, a left seat, recliner, a microwave, and a small refrigerator. She has a huge private bathroom with a sit-down shower. It is beautiful and all freshly painted. The dining room is gorgeous. It is a very nice place. But the most important thing to me is the level of care and the kindness, and everyone just goes out of their way to make sure she has what she needs. The place is very nice and very clean. They have two or three different rooms with big screen TVs, a parlor, a game room, a media room, crafts room, and a couple of kitchens where they allow the residents to help them bake. Outside is really pretty, too. They have two or three patios and covered porches where they can go and take out their lunch if they want to. They also have walking areas where they can walk around, and the assistants walk around with them if needed. Mom's really enjoying that part, to be able to get out. It is beautiful. It is set back in a wooded area. It is not secluded, but it's private and quiet. Like I said, she loves it, and we are so happy that she is happy. Mom has some complaints about the food, but I think that is because she's used to eating southern cooking and highly-seasoned fried cooking, and they eat healthy there, so there is a little bit of transition to that. But, overall, it is an excellent place. She comes by the director's office and says, "OK, what's next?" Because they have something planned for them all the time. And she loves it, that's what she needed.

My mom is currently at The Addison of Durham. They are not very good with communication and follow through with the family members as we've been trying to move her. It's not a place I would recommend to anyone. The nursing staff is very good, however, the administrative staff is not good at all on follow through or communication or anything of that sort. I have not been able to get in the building with COVID, and we haven't gotten any communication from them at all. The facility is clean and nice, it's just the staff is not communicative enough, and they don't have the infrastructure to handle the people that they have. It is a combination of a residential and commercial area. They do activities. I am paying $200 a day, so that's about average.

If you are thinking about this facility, make certain that you get everything in writing and it is signed by all concerned. They do not hold up to their commitments or guarantees that they make. Their transport is a joke and there are times when the staff does not show up to care for the dining room. I am truly sorry that we selected Carillon.

My father is at Carillon Assisted Living of Durham. His room is spacious and clean. The facility is fairly new and very well kept. They have quite a few activities. He has been in here for three weeks now. I have had a meal with him, and he is very pleased with the food. It is good and well balanced. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

I think Carillon is overpriced for the level that it is. They didn't have any single rooms with a bathroom, just single rooms and shared bathrooms that were way overpriced for what they were offering. I just feel that when you’re dealing with older people, and they pay that kind of money, they need to have their own bathroom.

I liked Carillon a lot. Every staff member we came across with was speaking to us or recognized us as visitors. The residents were extremely friendly. It was a hard choice between Carillon and the other place we saw. The rooms were smaller but the view out the window was really pretty. I liked it a lot, but I opted for more space. They had a nice activity room, a nice area where they had cooking demonstrations and gatherings of people, and a therapy area. Since I’m in a wheelchair, I was interested in their transporation vehicle that had a wheelchair lift. It was more like a van that had a wheelchair lift rather than a small bus. The residents seemed very comfortable. The dining area was very nice. I enjoyed the meal very much.

I am a family member my aunt been leaving at carillion for over a year one day around 9pm me and my friend decided to pass by and say hello to her she stays at the assisted side when we got to the door we meet a young lady who was the supervisor that night she introduced herself "Rosa " I think and with a smile asked how she can assist? we hesitated to respond and we said "Oh we know we're we going" I could noticed she was determined not to let us passby with the kindest words and a smile on her face she said that is ok I will talk with you to where you going. Immediately we knew she was a tough cookie and as small as she was we were not going to pass through her. It made us go home and sleep well knowing that they have the right people caring for our family members. we have no doubt that out aunt is in safe hands

My mother moved to Carillon Assisted Living in September, and we liked it because it has a memory care that I wanted and it is close to my house. The staff are wonderful, and they are kind to my mother. They are very responsive to me and any questions I have. I don't have any complaints about the staff. It is a beautiful facility, and they have activities for the residents who wish to participate. The food is excellent, and I'm just very pleased. For her needs, the room is fine. With her Alzheimer's, she doesn't need any more than what she has. She is in a two-person room, and it is very adequate for her needs. It is a locked community, so the residents cannot get out.

They were friendly and very helpful at Carillon. Whitney was very helpful and called us a couple of times to see if we found something, and gave us ideas on places and what to do. She answered all the questions we had. She was very good in giving me time to think things through. I thought it was very nice. The facility is very well decorated, with colorful flowers, paintings on the walls. There's a wide veranda with walking chairs, they have activity rooms, a little a dressing area where they could dress up, put on make-up, jewelry and hats. And an area where the residents can cook and someone would have an assistant. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They had a great computer system where they check patient's medications and they come out and tell them what they're supposed to have. It was extremely nice. Everything looked fine. It was very homey. The residents are relaxed and comfortable.

My dad lived at Carillion Assisted Living in the Alzheimer's Care facility. The place is beautiful. They have a lovely garden surrounded by a locked gate. Most of the staff were excellent and really took good care of my dad. In fact we still text some of them, but there was just one staff who is not ideal and was kind of rough with the patients. The management was amazing and wonderful although my dad was not happy because it was locked down.
