"Brookdale Summerfield was very nice. It was like a very nice hotel quality for everything that they had. The staff was extremely personable and gave me a guided tour. Every single person came by and said hello. There were friendly greetings throughout. The facility was immaculate. Everything was clean. The only thing that I saw that would be poor was the chairs in the dining hall. Some of its covers were coming off. They explained to me that when COVID hit, they had sprayed a cleaning fluid to sterilize them and it caused the furniture to come apart. They were in the process of replacing those chairs in the dining room. Other than that, everything was gorgeous and immaculate. Everything was very new and beautifully set in a nice location. Anyone who looked out of any of the rooms had a nice view. It was well set up."

"We have chosen Keepsake Village at Greenpoint. My mom has not moved in yet, but she is next in line to move in. It's clean. They have a lot of activities, and they seem able to get the residents involved. Everybody is very friendly, and the location is fabulous, too. The staff was overly welcoming. The executive director took time out of his day to make sure he met me before I left. The admissions director was extremely accommodating and had great communication skills. I also met with the activity director, and she seemed like a ball of fire. Everybody was just overly nice and very accessible. The food looked very good. It also looked delicious. The structure of the building is beautiful. The outside is the best kept up of all the places we looked at. The layout is nice. If people are wanderers or want to get exercise and walk, there's plenty of room for them to not feel like they're penned in. The rooms are bright, clean, and in fabulous condition."

"I visited Parkrose Estates, but it's under construction inside. They've had a water break or something, so the downstair is under construction. The people that I spoke with were wonderful people. It was very well-situated and I liked where it was. They had a studio apartment, which was as cute as could be, and a one-bedroom that was very nice. There was a full kitchen, refrigerator, gas, and electric stove, it's just that I need a two-bedroom. The dining rooms and the library, I couldn't see any of them because of all the construction. The outdoor space looked very pretty, and they had walking paths. They have like a walking club for people to get together and go out walking, which is very nice. It's very welcoming. I didn't eat, but their menu looked good."

"We toured Peregrine Senior Living at Onondaga Hill. I love the place. It was very nice. It was decorated nicely. There were people all around. It was busy. The staff was extremely friendly. We just saw the model room. It was very roomy. It had a bigger shower than what she had. They have this little shop where people donate things and the people can shop there, like if they need something, they'll go in there and just grab it."

"We visited Brookdale East Side and toured for assisted living. The overall experience was very, very good. We liked where the community was located and the people we met. The man who did the tour for us was wonderful in letting us speak with people who work there and some of the people who live there. I was free to ask questions. Everything was very clean, so we're very happy. We also saw the dining area, and it was lovely. I was so impressed because the tables all had tablecloths, so it wasn't like a cafeteria. It was a very nice dining room."

"I toured Holiday Maple Downs. I liked it for myself, but it wasn't a good fit for my mother. My mother's going to be 99, so she's going to need a little bit more of an assisted living and nursing home. We liked it. They had a good menu, and the apartments were small but okay. They had a refrigerator. They have their meals, and you go down and get the meals. They provide three meals a day, and they have choices. Everybody had their own apartment. They have a laundry room. They're very friendly and helpful. The facility is very clean. They have a yard with a little fountain. They even have a garden there for people who want to do some gardening."

"The rooms at Towne Center Retirement Community were the most beautiful I've seen. It had an airy feeling to it. I love it. I love the fact that the meal we had was good. I love the guy who gave us a tour. I wanted to hug him. He, himself, sold the place for me, but I have to find out whether I can afford it. The rooms were a little bit nicer. The hallways had rails on both sides going down."

"Brookdale Liverpool was very, very nice. They had everything that I would want. You have to be buzzed in. You will not walk into any of them and that's a good thing. I could not find anything wrong with them. The few residents that I ran into were very nice. Everything was spotlessly clean. The staff during the tour was so nice, very polite, professional, and fit the job. They're well taken care of."

"I toured Brookdale Fayetteville. It was very welcoming. The upkeep was good. The staff was great. I saw the dining area, and it was fine. They were watching a concert, singing songs, and they were very engaged. I had a great time there. They were having an ice cream social. All these people were coming down to have ice cream, which was a big thing for everybody to have ice cream together on Sunday."

He was very caring and very knowledgeable. The living spaces were very good. They're high-quality spaces. They had a lot of nice activities going on. There are other rooms where you can get together with other people there. I saw an exercise room. There's a big breakfast room and menus where people can choose what they want to eat. They have a good view out their windows, too."

"The Athenaeum of Skaneateles is beautiful. It's a big mansion. It's a big, single family home and it's now built into 14 really nice rooms. It's more like living at your house. It's very clean. We got a full tour. We talked to everybody, even the maintenance guy and the director of events. The head of the place took us around for a couple of hours. We met the chef and he was really friendly. The dining area was beautiful and overlooked Skaneateles Lake. It has two big tables and everybody eats together. It's like a big dining room in a big, wealthy house."

"The rooms were neat and organized, and the staff checked in regularly to see if my aunt needed anything.Meals were brought to her room, which was more like a small apartment. She also had the choice to invite guests over for dinner where she could cook if she chose to, or have them bring a meal from the kitchen. The staff was friendly and patient with the residents. "

"This nursing home is not one that I would recommend unless there is family that is willing to keep a close eye on what is happening to their relative. We have a family member visit my relative every day since she was addmited. I spent the first three months setting up special options her, ie. a special menu each month, I am allowed to bath her, she can sleep in until she wakes up, etc. My relative has Alzhiemers, but has been able to dress herself and use the bathroom without assistance up to this point. She is faltering quickly in being able to do these things. Therefore, the nursing home personnel will have to start helping her with her everyday needs much more very soon. At that time, we will have to see if we are still comfortable that she is being taken care of properly. Rosewood recently was added to the federal list of the worst nursing homes in the U.S.. With all the things the social worker helped us to change for her in the first few months and being able to be there daily, we have been happy here and have been able to stay on top of her care. The social worker and the dietician have been a wonderful help. If you do not have the time to set things up personally for your relative and cannot be there all the time to make sure they are okay, I would not recommend this facility at this time. "

"My mother is in Central Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. It's fantastic, it's a five-star facility, the staff is very professional, and everyone has been very supportive and very helpful in this transition. She has been as comfortable as she can be, she's been there for a couple of months now, and she's on the first floor now which is in the nursing facility. It's great, everybody has been fantastic, and I really don't have any complaints. She said she likes the food, I'm in constant with the nursing staff, social worker, and the case worker, and she's eating just fine. The food is very substantial, and of good variety. The facilities were very nice, very clean, and very secure. I've been able to see just the lobby, the outside of the building, and through the window I was able to see the inside of the room area, but everything looked very clean, well-kept, and very updated. They have music time, there are individual TVs, but there is also community TV, they have different programs, community things and individual things."

"I'm thinking seriously about The Hearth on James as I was quite happy with the place. I plan to go back, have a meal, and see how that goes. I've seen 3 places and I liked this one. I toured their independent living and I like the rooms very much. I liked the arrangement in the dining room too. I liked the fact that they have transportation available to take you places you need to go. The gentleman who gave me the tour was very professional, knowledgeable, and very pleasant. The sizes of the rooms were adequate and the layout was very nice. I looked at a 1-bedroom apartment and it had appliances that I would need, and appeared very pleasant."
