I am/was a resident of this facility

Rooms are good. Staff is terrible food resembles road kill. Most staff act like they’re doing you a favor with everything. They are understaffed and seem angry all the time. When something goes wrong no one knows who is responsible to fix. Change medication without notifying or discussing with you. Feels more like a prison than a nursing/rehab facility. I highly recommend go somewhere else.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

When my brother was transferred from the hospital to this facility - that's when his health went downhill. He had just had a stroke two weeks before. He is diabetic. He had wound infections on his feet. All of his healthcare needs were disregarded. His room was freezing and no blankets were provided even tho asked for over and over again. No doctors ever came in to see him except for the psychiatrist who after one interview with him diagnosed dementia. This place should be closed down. There was no medical help whatsoever. The aides were very rude and it seemed that they had their jobs only to make some money for themselves, not to care for those in their charge. I wish I had never recommended this facility. Our mother was there 13 years ago and it was quite a different pace. It actually had a 5 star rating at that time. They remodeled Hamilton Park since then but gave up good care for a nicer looking building. What happened? My recommendation - do not subject your loved one to Hamilton. You will regret it.

Hamilton Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is a good rehab facility. They seem to have sufficient staff. They're caring. In terms of my mother, they're attentive and very helpful to her. Any questions that I may have, they are there to answer. There are two to a room, so it's good accommodation. It's clean, it's very clean and it's ample. There is plenty of space there to roam around or wheelchair somebody around. The amenities are nice. They're excellent. They have regular programs. They have people that come into the day room where they hold programs daily. They have people that go through all the floors. They have a schedule posted of various activities and when people are going to come and when they're taking place. This is covered by Medicare, but I would say that even if we are paying, it's worth the money because she is being well taken care of. Everybody there that I've seen is being taken care of, and their issues are being addressed. It's almost like home for a lot of them.

Hamilton Park Nursing And Rehabilitation Center is very clean. They're caring and my mom seems happy there. When my sister and I go every day, the place is very immaculate. They help her with feeding in the mornings, at lunch, and dinner. Her room is accommodating. She has her own TV and everything. The dining areas and the bathrooms are also clean. It doesn't smell like when you're going to other nursing home. It's very pleasant. I met with the physical therapists, and they're very caring too.

If you love or care for your family member who needs rehab or hospice care DO NOT send them to this facility! The staff - from the security guards to the nurses to the administrators- are uncaring and mean-spirited. My father-in-law is dying and is in hospice care here. He had previously been here for rehab following a hospital stay. The care here has been sub-par at best and downright horrible at the worst. The staff has little compassion for the dying and absolutely no empathy for the family saying goodbyes to their husband, father, brother, grandpa, and friend. It’s like he is being punished foe being well-loved in life. It is heartbreaking that his dying days must be spent amidst these nasty people and horrific facility. Hospice patients should not be in rooms with rehab patients and all staff dealing with hospice patients should be specially trained in end of life care. I would not recommend this facility to my worst enemy. If you are thinking of placing a loved here - do no do it!

My mother passed away alone at the end of her life on 1.20.21. Hamilton Park Nursing and Rehabilitation never allowed us to visit while her health was declining in the last two weeks of her life on earth, the lack of staffing issues on the weekends and especially on MLK were told to us by staff members to us on the phone. They claimed that the rules from NY State Dept of Health did not allow for visitation. We have pictures of my mom in other peoples clothing and in bed the last week of her life. We buried my mother on her 94th birthday, HAMILTON PARK FAILED US , GOVERNOR CUOMO FAILED US AND OUR MOTHER, WE WILL NEVER FORGIVE OR FORGET WHAT THEY DID. We will not be silenced anymore.

Hamilton Park Nursing And Rehabilitation Center is very good. The physical therapy is excellent, and the staff is very nice. The physical therapy room is exceptional, the equipment is great, and the therapists are fantastic. I have a friend who was told he will no longer be able to walk, but he went home walking last Wednesday. That's how good their physical therapy is in that place. Dad is not participating in any activities because that's his personality, but they have bingo and other activities.
