The only professionals at this facility were the PT, OT, and speech therapy. I was at this facility from January 6 to the 18th 2022. The medical staff was terrible! The doctors were the worse I have ever had. Dr. Surrey who is the "doctor on staff" I would love to see her diploma to be sure she is a doctor. They took 4 days to get medicine I needed and there was a pharmacy next door to the rehab facility. The team of social workers were barely useful. The nursing staff did not help me to learn how to care for my stomach tube which I had because of dysphasia I developed from neck surgery. I thought maybe it was me, but my primary family doctor told me of her father's near-death experience while at this place. I was being feed through my stomach tube and often they would skip my feedings or push the liquid food through the tube so fast I would feel like I was going to throw up! At night they would play music so loud that you could hear it with your door shut. I was there for 12 days, and they never once cleaned my bathroom. I had to ask that they change my bed because several days of spilling liquid food on the bed it was getting nasty. I would not choose this place for a dog to be rehabilitated!!!! I think next time I would check into an animal shelter!!

I would never recommend using Powerback Voorhees. The way this was presented was not reality. My mother did not see a rehab doctor . My mother received minimal physical therapy for a fractured humerus. The excuse after excuse was short staffing. Only have male attendants for evenings. My mother was shouted at while I was on the phone. This was not a rehab. The staff was extremely unprofessional with few exceptions. The PT was good if and when she received PT. My mother has excellent insurance. We pulled her out ASAP to rehab at home. Never , ever would I encourage anyone to utilize this institution. It was horrendous.

As other people have said before me, if I could give this place zero stars I would. I was recommended to powerback by a few people who had great experiences there in the past. My mother stayed here following colorectal surgery, until her surgeon insisted that she be placed back into the hospital because of the terrible treatment she received here. During her hospital stay, her ostomy bag was replaced every 3-4 days, which was normal for a case like hers. Once she was at Powerback they had to change it 3-4 times A DAY! Clearly they had no idea what they were doing but not once did they call in a wound care nurse to try to help, nor did the doctor on staff help with the problem. One nurse even wrung her ostomy bag out like a dirty dishrag once while emptying it! As you can imagine from constantly having the bags and bandages ripped off, her skin rapidly deteriorated (which is why she ended up back in the hospital). And a couple times when I would visit I would witness the incision from her surgery left completely soaking in fecal matter!! Sometimes for an hour or two before someone would come and clean it up and change it. There was constant problems with not getting medications on time or them just abruptly stopping medications that she was supposed to be on. At one point she was on antibiotics from the incision becoming infected while she was there (leaving a surgical incision soaking in fecal matter will do that...), they were supposed to give her them every 6 hours...she went almost 24 hours between doses and then they tried to give them to her again 3 hours later and again 3 hours after that, I suppose to "make up" for missing all the doses?? I'm no doctor but that's not how it works. I asked on more than one occasion to speak to Dr. Surrey who is the "doctor on staff" and I still to this day have never received a phone call. I also spoke to many other families while I was there for visitations and every single person I spoke with was unhappy with how their loved one was being treated and trying to get them relocated or get them sent home early. Please do not send your loved ones to powerback Voorhees. It may have been a nice place in the past but that time has clearly come and gone.

All rooms are single and beautiful but the praise begins and ends there. My partner has poor memory recall and could not tell me what was happening but I never received a call from the Dr or NP to update his progress. His discharge summary was almost completely empty with his discharge date listed as a day before his actual admission date and no follow up information pertaining to his progress in PT/OT was included. I got no information on names or necessary follow up appts. I don't know why they are still in business. Poor communication and even worse care.

My sister was sent here after a hospitalization. She has a stroke 15 years ago, and has no use of or feeling on her right side. Nurses were rude and unresponsive, treated her very meanly, and just didn’t seem to care! She was there for 4 days before my niece pulled her out, due to the lousy care provided. My sister FELL at least 3 times (my niece got 2 calls when she fell twice her first night there, I got one her third night there) during the night. Since she has no feeling on her right side, we don’t know if anything is broken, but her right wrist is now sitting at a very ODD angle. We will be having her X-rayed today to see if there are any breaks. HORRIBLE PLACE!

My dad just went back into the hospital for severe dehydration. They let him lay almost comatose for 2 days. He was here 5 days before that and received very little or no PT. They don't return calls or give updates and they lied on several occasions. The care was reprehensible.

Therapy is ok but direct nursing is terrible. Bell will ring for Minimum of 15 before it gets answered, medication is always late. Staff constantly complained of being short staff. Little activities (1 hour a day) , 2 hours of therapy leaves you sitting in your room 21 hours a day. Food is good. They fail to communicate how to use thing eg: cafe, store, beauty’ shop.or what is expected of you or what you can expect from them. Diapers are not always available. With the exception of a few tech. Little direct care is provided. You can go for hours without seeing a staff member. Good luck if you can’t call out or get to call light. I’m all for wanting to do things for myself, but should I have to ask for A.m or P.m care. No personal laundry is done, your on your own hope you have family.

Please do not bring your loved ones here if you care anything about them! Do not be fooled by aesthetics. Their bedside manner is horrible. No one ever has answers and there is always a delay with communication from the “doctors” that oversee the facility. The nurses are rude and under informed about patients medical needs. I gave one star because a rating was required... but it was not earned.

My family member is a current resident at this facility and I typically never provide reviews, but based on the outstanding care provided by the nurses, therapists, and aides I had to provide this review. The nurses are attentive and listen to the needs of not only the patient but the family; the therapists are highly recommended as they develop personalized treatment plans based on the patients goals (huge shout out to the speech therapy team for going above and beyond; these two wonderful STs are HIGHLY recommended) and the overall care from the facility has been great. I do recommend family checking in daily just to make sure things are running smooth. The only issue we’ve had thus far is with the kitchen, but the issue was addressed immediately.

While the facility itself is top notch, the level of care, professionalism and honesty as dropped off the charts. This was my fathers 4th in this facility, the last time before was 2 years ago. This place has gone from 5 stars to 1 star not sure why it has changed, but stay away, except for 1 or 2 excellent aides who still care the rest ignore all aspects of hygiene and the PT and OT is not preparing patients to re-enter their daily lives.

This place is clean and looks like a nice hotel but the care of the patients is terrible. My father was in there for about a month and they left him soiled in pjs when I walked in and he was pushing buttons for the nurses and they didn't come even when I was there by his side. I had to find someone to help him every time I was there. He was dehydrated and getting worse by the day there. The employers were absolutely horrible to deal with. They did not want to help. Unless your family or friend is just there for a simple leg injury or something they can handle mostly handle on their on, do not pick this place to put your family. I do not understand why most of the people have jobs there. They don't care about their patients. They do not respond to the patients pushing the button for help even if the family member is right in the room. I would strongly suggest anyone to not send their family or friend there. I wouldn't send my dog there now that I know how that place is.

My mom went there for cardiac failure rehab. She was put on a liquid restriction . Every day I went in there and complained that she was getting weaker and weaker and becoming unresponsive. I complained with no response until she was taking by ambulance to the hospital and hydrated . I think animal shelters take better care of the dogs than they take care of people .One time I had to watch my mom pee the bed because no one there would take her to the bathroom. They are the worst and almost lost my mom because of it.

My sister-in-law went there for rehab. The nursing staff is terrible!!! She is currently non-ambulatory so she requires the use of a bedpan. However she was made to lay in her excrement because no responds to a call bell/light. We were assured they knew how to manage a wound vac, they do not!!. My sister-in-law had to return to the hospital because the incompetence caused a major infection in the wound; that required 3 additional surgeries to correct. The dressing used on the wound was incorrect, but the idiot doctor for the place stated that he had followed the discharge instructions. If he was any kind of real physician he would have questioned the orders. Horrible care!!

This place looks beautiful but it's a disgrace! My dad is currently in there and has been for 2 weeks and the whole time there has been no communication from the nurses, doctors or staff. Any time I have tried to contact my dad's social worker or anyone else because I had questions I have always gotten a voicemail. They seemed short staff on nurses so it seems near impossible to tract someone down when you have a concern or question. Today, they went and gave my dad narcotics for back pain and now he is acting neurotic! I wish they would have come to me or one of my family members first because my dad can not take narcotics, they make him act crazy. He has a history of addiction and now he is going to want more even after discharged. I'm so disgusted with this place and the staff.

This facility is horrible! The staff that work from 10 pm to 7 am sleep on their shifts. They don't answer calls, you have to go look for them. They don't come in until 1 hour before their shift is over to make it look like they are working. Some not all of the nurses are rude and don't care like they should. The staff does not read information ornorsers from the hospital that follow the patient properly. They almost caused her to die because they were not reading the entire report. Social Worker is a cold fish! BTW that's how the entire staff refers to her. Doctors don't get involved. This facility does not advocate for the patient. They did not discharge my Mom properly...doctor did not even know she was leaving or come see her. Social Worker Amy makes promises of changes and she will follow up, it NEVER HAPPENED. This place needs someone to be a leader and not be afraid of the staff. Do not put your loved one in this place!!! It looks pretty but it's a front.

Run!!!! Please do not send your loved one here. Unbelievably understaffed. Those that are on the floor spend most of the time behind the desk. If you do have a concern and go to those in charge, be ready to for the onslaught of nasty and rude treatment. I beg you not to bring your family here.

My mom came in to this facility for rehab from a broken leg. She wasn't taken care of properly at all! She left after 27 days much worse than when she went in! Compression wounds and rashes from lack of care on her torso were horrendous! If you need care other than physical therapy do not go there! The place is gorgeous but it is all show no substance!

This is a NO-Star rating. This is the second time my step-mom was in the facility. We thought the first time was a fluke and would give in another chance. While the facility itself is new and beautiful inside, the nursing care and PT are NOT GOOD! If you really love the person you are going to leave at this facility...DON'T. My step-mom was in the facility for six days and only had one bedside physical therapy session. She was sent there to regain her stamina to perform her ADL (activities of daily life). While in the rehab, my stepmom's condition deteriorated to the point that she was unable to feed herself. She had no strength in her hands to hold the cutlery. This was not a problem with her prior to being sent there from Virtua Hospital, Voorhees and she developed it while in the rehab. My Dad who was still with her in the room at the time her dinner was delivered rang the bell and asked the aide on duty to assist her. This young lady was an angel and was so patient with my step-mom (wish I knew her name so I could cite it here). When my Dad left for the evening, he alerted the RN on shift that my step-mom would need assistance in getting her food set up for her and feeding assistance. Each time while my Dad was still in the room with my step-mom at meal times, the person delivering the food would just leave it on the table and not ring for assistance in getting my step-mom set up and have an assistant help her with her food. While my Dad was there, he could certainly help her, and did. However, this isn't the point. He isn't there for breakfast or lunch or some dinners and no one came in to check to see if my step-mom needed help. Most of the meals, when she could eat any of them, were cold and unappetizing by the time she could eat them. One day a different aide came in and started to help her eat, while my Dad was still there. She said that she had to find someone to help her feed her. After forty minutes, no one came back in. My Dad did help my step-mom but he had to leave. He is 82 and still drives a mini-school bus for two trips each day and is trying to keep a normal schedule for himself. He was getting ready to leave to go home. The staff shouldn't just assume that the family member will be there to help the resident. On another note, my step-mom was sent to the hospital from this location because of extreme medical circumstances. I am sure to the staff they thought she was probably terminal and wouldn't be returning. However, my step-mom is like a cat and has nine lives. She is recovering and in a few days should be able to go back to a rehabilitation center. When my Dad stopped back on the day my step-mom was admitted to the hospital and he went to her room to pack up her items, he came to find the room empty of her things and it was cleaned and set-up for a new patient/resident to occupy the room. Whomever cleared the room, put the items in a box to be taken to the storage area downstairs. When my Dad inquired on the floor about my step-mom's belongings, he was directed to go back downstairs. They brought out a box with her last name on it. It was not my step-mom's items. The desk clerk on duty told my Dad they had another person leave that day and perhaps they mixed up the boxes. They brought the other person's box out and again, it wasn't my stepmom's belongings. The worker found a box with no name or room number on it. It was my step-mom's items. Even a simple task such as this couldn't be handled properly. Also, shouldn't they have informed my Dad that they needed to empty her room and where to report to claim her belongings rather than traipsing all over the facility? My Dad, is older and at the end of a very long and trying day at the hospital with my step-mom, was very disheartened and upset. This could have been handled differently. After two tries at this facility, we DO NOT RECOMMEND it to anyone. My step-mom will not be returning to Powerback and the beautiful amenities which put up a good front for the facility. The nursing care/assistance/therapy overall was below standards.

Do not send a loved one to Power Back in Voorhees. They are understaffed, rude, and no dietitian on weekends. A person on a low sodium, low sugar diet got beef vegetable soup twice yesterday and highly seasoned chicken, along with 2 pieces of bread at each meal, maple syrup, and potatoes. No wonder his feet are swollen and his sugar is high. He also stayed in the same gown from the hospital that he had put on him Friday morning till Sunday morning because they were busy and he had to be evaluated before he could get dressed. Only one person was there to evaluate him and they had three admissions on his floor and some on other floors and they were busy. If I heard that one more time that they were busy, I thought I would scream. You even have to ask for meds. If I could give Power Back a minus number instead of a one, I would! I told them yesterday that they should close on Saturday and Sunday since it is everyone's days off. Renaming it POWER LACK.

I give this place no stars, but had to give 1 to do review...The staff on the 2nd floor are lazy, they never went in to see my mom. 22 minutes at least for a response from her call button, she was right outside the nurses station. The directors heard many concerns from the family and ultimately, the day before my mom passed, not only did they take her dignity from her by not getting her on a bed pan in a timely manner, but also allowed her to be in so much pain, that she spent the day moaning and groaning. Sadly, mom passed the next day, and I do not blame them for her death, but I blame them for not taking care of her needs. DO NOT SEND ANY FRIENDS OR RELATIVES to this god awful place. The facility looks lovely, but the care is not there at all. My mom said more than once that she feels so alone there. I wanted to remove her the day before she passed, but was assured she would get the best care. The staff at this place does not know the meaning of care. As I said to one of the Directors of Nursing, how would you feel if this was your mom?? Her response was that she was so embarrassed, but nothing changed.

I only give one star because the place is new, but it is all smoke and mirrors--meaning it has not substance. Please don't go there for the look. My partner came there after a brain aneurysm and was weak and vulnerable. She asked for help with a shower and the aid turned on the water, gave her a towel and left. That was the last assistance she got unless she asked. When she complained, they never came into her room. They made mistakes with her meds and luckily my partner is a nurse and recognized it. When she did, the LPN rudely said, are you refusing it....to which my partner said, she because it is a mistake. LPN later came back with the corrected meds. The attitudes was disrespectful, the issues bordered on neglect of her needs and in some cases downright unsafe. The doctor and the PT person said she was stable and fit to go home, but the paperwork took too long and we decided for my partners health and well being that we needed to leave on a weekend and they couldn't get the paperwork complete so they considered this AMA (against medical orders ). Because of this they refused to cooperate and provide information to the home health care company which would then allow us to start home care. This was a very bad experience for her and me. They were never friendly, mostly rude and I suggest you stay away.

In my opinion the nursing staff is horrible!! They are lazy and do nothing. While I visited the facility, I noticed the staff dining in the bistro, hanging around like they were patients themselves. I am sure there are a few good one here but, good luck finding them. If you don't have any pre existing conditions and do not require medications, you might be okay. Diabetic family member there for rehabilitation from a fall. Blood never tested, insulin never given unless you complain. Even then, you have to ask for them to give meds. Not sure where they get their staff from but I'm sure they are not qualified to work there. We complained numerous times and nothing was corrected. If you need helping getting to the bathroom, you'll have to go when they are ready to take you (at their convenience). As for meals... if a patient gets to the bistro later than the other patients, there's a possibility that there will be nothing left. What kind of facility doesn't have enough food to feed their patients? This place is a joke... Please beware!!!

My father stayed at this facility for two weeks due to hip replacement surgery. While the facility is attractive and comfortable and the food is reasonable, the staff behavior leaves much to be desired. The following occurred: * The bathroom was dirty and soiled for over three days. After my physically-challenged mother continued to request it be cleaned, it finally was. * No one could confirm if my father was ever showered or washed during the entire stay. * I spoke to several staff members reminding them about my father's outside doctor's appt. He needed to be dressed, brought downstairs, and taught how to safely get in and out of the automobile. He was asleep in bed, when picked up by his son. * The staff's behavior was mostly unconcerned and unhelpful. I would not send my dog there.

this place is nice on the inside and out but take a closer look its dirty the furniture is filthy The staff especially the nursing director has no clue what shes doing she needs to retire The nursing staff lacks also they pass of LPNS as RNS They don't work most of them sit all night There attitudes suck. Half of them don't even wash their hands I find it strange that a rehab place takes hospice patients on died will I was there it should be listed as a NURSING HOME as they take anything to make money and by all means don't need to go to the hospital they don't want to send you instead they play with your life I would not recommend this place the food is awful it is amazing how a grown person cant get a full cup of juice or water unbelievable BEWARE OF THIS PLACE

My husband was much younger then the average patient. He also needed speech as the result of a stroke. This beautiful facility gave us a nice place to visit with our friends. Also Dr S was just amazing-cable,caring and competent. No food is ever good to my husband, but the dining room is quite comfortable. You feel like a person here. It is also spotless. I must end this thanking all of the employees especially Jamie( his dedicated speech therapist) She is the quite lovely and even looks like Katie Perry.

Dad was at Powerback Rehabilitation after his back surgery. He was there for almost 6 weeks. Their physical and occupational therapies were wonderful, and they were very consistent with the people that he had so they knew his progress. It was a very luxurious place, but when you have one nurse to see 15 patients and one aide that sees 20 patients, you don’t always get things that attentively. The place was clean. The people were very, very nice. The food was pretty good. It was covered for the patient, but if the family wanted anything, you had to pay for it which was fine but it was very pricey for what you got. They have their own in-house restaurant. It was like a bistro where you ordered off a menu.
