My mother-in-law moved into Kennedy Health Care Center. We're glad that we have a place where she is at now, but we have been very disappointed with their seemingly inability to communicate what's going on with her, especially under the restrictions with COVID. We can't get in to see her, we can't check on her, but oftentimes we're finding out about her follow up doctors' appointments that are outside of them when transportation is calling us. We also have a phone call regarding COVID outbreak, and we had one on one day that said they had x number of residents, and x number of employees, and the next day we got one that said it was just employees, and they were calling to let us know. Even in that, the reports that we're receiving are contradicting one another. She left us with a broken hip, and other than one time on FaceTime, we have not laid eyes on her. They have a setup right now where you can have visitation outside for 30 minutes once a week, and only two peope can be there for that. It's only between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday on top of that, so anybody who works can't make it in there. The two times that we had made plans to go and see her, they were cancelled for one reason or another, and it was kind of crazy. When I call up there they don't seem to know what to say. They said they're gonna read what they can see, and I'm constantly getting, "I just came in." Nobody's ever repeating their visit with her. They need to develop a way of communicating more than once a month in a meeting where people come in and just spout off notes, they need to make it more personal, because right now my husband and I view this solely as a warehouse for old people.

I cannot say enough positive things about this nursing facility. I would refer Kennedy to anyone. The administration is professional, competant and caring. Sure, there will always be things are not perfect and that is just the nature of nursing homes. Until your loved one lives in a truly "bad" nursing home, you cannot understand just how superior this facility really is.

I visited this facility
At Kennedy Health Care Center, everyone treated me very nicely. I was introduced to everybody. They showed me around the facility. They treated me very well. The rooms seemed very nice. They seemed up-to-date, and there were plenty of room and light. I just liked what I saw. They have just finished remodeling the dining room, and everything looked very nice. Regarding activities, there were a couple of nice game rooms. I've talked to a few people, and there were no complaints. Overall, everything was new and clean. Everyone seemed to be upbeat and in tune with what was going on.

I am a friend or relative of a resident
My friend stayed at Kennedy Health Care Center for about 20 days. The staff overall was pretty nice. It was clean, but you could smell feces when you walk through. They could use spray, and they didn't. I kept bringing in containers of air freshener for him.

My father was at Kennedy Health System. They were horrible. It was chosen because it was attached to the hospital that my father was being treated at. Actually, I thought it was a very nice place. The people were nice, but they didn't get the importance of infection control. Also they didn't understand his dementia and his basic nursing needs. The nurse's aides care was horrendous. There were dirty clothes thrown on the floor. There were soiled diapers and wash clothes on the chair that guests sit in. With regards to accommodation, at that time, my father was in semi-private. They weren't connected. They were separated by a door but they shared a bathroom. The room was adequate. It was a very nice room with big screen TV. It was set up very nice. Food was horrible. With regards to activities, they didn't have many that I knew of other than him going to PT. He was only there a week.
