We spent a good amount of time looking for the proper assisted living community for our 98 year old father. After an exhaustive search we chose Leisure Park. Could not have made a better decision. For us, besides the obvious expectation of the physical setting, it came down to the people. Stacey was our first contact. We found Stacey knew the business but what really stood out was her genuine empathy toward our situation and deep knowledge of what we needed to consider without being pushy. The rest of the staff were outstanding too. In the end, to us, it was the level of care and the people that mattered.

My aunt is a resident of Leisure Park, and I think it's a good experience. The people that are there are caring. Her room is an efficiency apartment. She's on her own and she does not have a roommate. The place is maintained very nicely. They have a good dining facility with good meals, but she's elderly, so she doesn't really want people coming in and cleaning her place. It's hard to get her to let anyone in, but they do provide a cleaning service and laundry. She just likes to do those things herself. She's kind of independent. The dining area's very nice. They have tablecloths and they can sit and socialize. That is a very nice experience, I think, and important for seniors to have that ability to communicate with each other in a relaxed manner. Their meals are good, I think. I've eaten there and the dining area is very nice. Because of COVID, everything's more restricted, but they historically have had entertainers come in at least weekly, sometimes a couple of times a week performing and singing. They play bingo, they have arts and crafts, and they have a physical therapy type of room there. She goes in or did go in and uses the bicycle, and some equipment for exercise. It's lovely the way they maintain it, and I think she's been quite happy there. I think the staff is generally good. I do question why so many have been coming down with COVID, and whether or not they have been getting vaccinated. To me, that is a question that I have no answer for. They're doing their best to provide for visiting, even though they are having some difficulties. I think all the nursing homes and assisted living are having some difficulty. They were very good with activities, but now with COVID they're not. It's pretty expensive.

My father was at Leisure Park. Everything was excellent. There were no complaints. He was very sick and he didn't last long, but they took very good care of him while he was there. The place was very nice and was always clean. The services were very good and the food was very good, too. It was a horrible experience, but it was a good place to go through it.

Tillie began living at Leisure Park in the middle of January after losing her husband and needing round the clock supervision and assistance. We have been very happy with the care she has been receiving and the home she is making for herself at Leisure Park. My husband and I live close by and visit her twice a day to help her feel comfortable with her new surroundings. Unfortunately, she ended up in the hospital for two weeks and skilled nursing for two weeks in February. Having Alzheimer’s, she had to get reacclimated to her surroundings at Leisure Park upon her return because of her being away for so longs. The staff was very helpful with all these changes for Tillie. We are very happy with all we see happening here and plan on cutting back on our visits because she is feeling like this is home. Ruth was our first real contact with Leisure Park. She was down to earth and very helpful while we made the decision to have Tillie live at Leisure Park. She was friendly, informative, and reassured us that this was the best place for her to be. Your nursing staff is top notch. Christy, Michelle, and Dimitri are always available, smiling, and helpful. You can tell that they know each of the residents as individuals and enjoy interacting with them. They are always out and about, mingling with the residents and checking on things. The Med room staff is wonderful. They are very compassionate and on top of their meds schedule. It can’t be easy to make sure that each resident gets the proper meds at the proper times each day. Laurie (I think that’s her name, she has medium length straight hair) the evening nurse, Luz, the day nurse, Natia, and Kayla and are especially nice and caring. Your activities staff is excellent. JoAnne is like the energizer bunny and seems to enjoy every part of her job. She is always available and when not running activities with the residents, she is mingling with them, giving hugs, having conversation. Roni and Alicia are also very pleasant and helpful to the residents. They enjoy their time with the residents and love doing the activities with them. The activities are so important to help keep the residents engaged and motivated during their long day. Carolyn has been the aide that I have had most contact with. She is always visible and ready to help. She is very attentive to Tillie’s needs. Rob is also excellent. He isn’t assigned to Tillie but is always ready to help her and is very pleasant. You can always find him running around to helping the residents! He can be seen everywhere! Tillie’s housekeeper Gerry is very sweet and always does a wonderful job. Linda is the chef. She does a great job and can often be found out in the dining room mingling with the residents. The food is excellent. Residents can choose from the daily menu (which changes every day for lunch and dinner) or from the everyday menu! There is an abundance of comfort food on the everyday menu. The portions are large and can be customized to exactly what the resident wants. And, there’s always room for dessert. There are certain dining room staff that need a shout out for always doing a good job. Candace is so very sweet. She takes the time to talk to the residents and make sure they are comfortable. She knows their dislikes and likes and is always trying to accommodate them. She is very calm and pleasant when dealing with all the residents. Megan is great with the residents and can always be seen running around the dining room. She is always on the move doing her job (and others). Scott, and Charles have made every effort to get to know every one of the residents. These 4 workers know the residents personally, what they like to eat most, what their preferred drink is, certain quirks about their eating habits, know which walker belongs to who, always have a pleasant smile, and try to engage in pleasant conversation with the residents. The new girl Mariana (not sure of spelling) seems very good too. She engages with the residents and is very friendly and happy. Unfortunately, there are many times when service is very slow, but I always see these 4 hustling to get the food and drinks to the residents as quickly as possible, so I am not sure why the service is so slow. It could be something going on in the kitchen. Your maintenance staff is top notch. They are very quick to respond to anything needed, are very pleasant, all jobs are done with great professionalism, and they never leave any mess. They can fix anything and do it quickly. Working in an assisted living facility is not an easy job! My husband and I are there enough to see all that goes on. Their goal is to keep the residents as independent as possible and support them when they need it. Leisure Park fosters a caring environment for the residents and the employees seem to have fun interacting and enjoying the residents, giving them the support and care they need at this time in their lives.

Leisure Park was a five-story building, and the staff was wonderful. However, you cannot use a wheelchair by yourself in the halls. You'd have to have somebody push you. The rooms were lovely, but they were on the small side. They do happy hours on Fridays, bingo, art classes, and once a week they go to lunches.

This facility is constantly understaffed. If my family did not live close and visit everyday I do not know what my uncle's experience would have been. The sales staff assessed my uncle to be in assisted living although within two months it was clear to me that he needed a higher level of care both physically and mentally; the nursing staff and middle administrators did nothing even after we suggested it. He called our house many times each night complaining that he was wet; the only phone to the facility that works at night is the security cell phone and they run around trying to find someone to help. We were paying almost $7000/mo for his care. Our family members found him sitting in dirty Depends often when they visited. The laundry in Assisted Living is done once a week. This man had advanced prostate cancer and had no control over his bladder. I felt that if they had shifted him from assisted living to nursing care that would have been addressed. I felt bad for the workers in the section because they were being asked to do a level of care that they were not prepared to do. This facility is being mismanaged. Do not spend the money that they will charge you unless your family member is actually correct for Assisted Living.

My father is in the assisted living unit of Leisure Park. His room is clean and comfortable. They have bingo, music, puzzles, and plenty of other activities for the residents. They have a game room with library, dining area, and living room.

My mother is in Leisure Park. I like the price, the staff, everything. It works out pretty good. They have bingo, live entertainment, and a little garden out there. They have trips to Atlantic City. It is a big community, but the attendants are outstanding. Mother is comfortable with the staff. The director and staff are really good people. They are very responsive. If you see something you don’t like or don’t understand, you can reach out to them, and they will call you and ask for a meeting.

My have moved my mom to Leisure Park. I choose this community based on the help of the employees. They took their time walking us through the process and made everything very comfortable. They assured me that this was the right place to be. There were 112 residents and activities going from 8:30 in the morning until 8:00 at night, almost seven days a week. This was the least flamboyant of the communities I saw. The others are decorated a lot nicer, but this is the best facility based on activities, medical staff, and the monitoring of the residents.

I looked at Leisure Park. It was an excellent facility, like a 5-star place but very expensive. The staff, the facilities, and the food were absolutely wonderful. However, the cost of a 5-star place like that is beyond my means. It looked like they had a very excellent staff, too.

Everyone was very friendly at Leisure Park. It was very clean and welcoming. The staff was very helpful. It had a very homey feel to it. The elderly people were being cared for. There were different activities that the residents could get involved in if they wanted. There was a shuttle to take them shopping, to the doctor, or wherever they wanted to go.

My mother is in an independent living called Leisure Park. They are excellent. We have no complaints. She is very happy there. My brothers and I are extremely happy that we placed her in there. The apartments are unbelievable. They have beautiful rooms -- well painted and well kept. They have people that come in once a week to clean. Their food is excellent. They do a lot for their seniors. The care is excellent. It is wonderful, and I will highly recommend it to anybody. They have church on Sundays. They have trips where they take them out. They have bingo, exercise classes, and big birthday parties once a month for everybody. They take them to Atlantic City, to different malls, and to different stores. Whatever they are able to do, they do.

My father is at Leisure Park. When we visited the first time, appearance-wise, it was very nice. It is wide and open, and it has a nice set-up. The main lobby is very pretty. They have fresh flowers. The independent living part seems nicer than the assisted living part. That was one of the things my dad liked. We had lunch there in the independent dining room, and it had music. However, the assisted living dining room is not like that. There is no music, and the wait staff is sometimes slow. My dad is blind, so he needs assistance, but they didn't always catch that. They would just put food in front of him and not help him. Sometimes he rings for assistance, and it takes them awhile to answer the call. But with certain things, they have been very accommodating. Like the time he was having problem with his heating and air-conditioning, they came right away to fix that. The rooms are very small. His room is a one-bedroom, but it is very small. One of the positive things there is that he likes the food. With regards to activities, the couple of times I've been there, they have done word games, and they have a few musicians and entertainment there. My dad goes for exercise. In the morning, they have some kind of chair exercises.

Leisure Park is very nice, but right now, I am not ready for anything like that. I see one apartment, and it is empty. It is sufficient for one person. The dining area looks very nice. The lady that I spoke to was very accommodating.

Leisure Park was very bright and airy when you walked into it. It was very inviting. The staff was very nice. They showed me all the rooms and showed me around the whole building. They gave me a form for my mom to fill out the application process when she's ready. They were very helpful and very nice. The residents themselves that I ran into the elevator seemed to be very pleasant and seemed to enjoy the residence. They had activities like yoga classes, Wii, exercise classes, bingo, barbeque down the courtyard on summer, and music. They have a lot of things. They had a bus that could take you shopping, and they had someone with them to assist the people. The rooms were very nice. They had a studio and a one-bedroom apartment. They were all very nice, and they renovated some so that they could keep the place up.

We are moving my father to Leisure Park. He has not moved in yet, but so far everybody has been very welcoming and very accommodating, and I think it is going to be a great place for him. The rooms are very well-maintained. Each time a new person comes in, they redo the carpet, paint the walls, and they'll upgrade the bathroom to any kind of safety devices that you need in it. They were fairly large rooms. We all ate there, and we were actually very impressed. You go down to the dining room, and they sit you according to how you got there, you tell them who you want to sit with, and then they will have your table ready. They were very good about taking care of people with walkers, making sure their tables were placed out of the way, but also making sure they get the walkers for them when they were leaving, and the service was very good. They had a nice menu with a lot of different choices. They had a nice fitness room and a lovely crafts room. They had a lot of churches in the area, and they also bring in concerts to their garden areas. They had a gardening club, which my father is very interested in.

Lakewood has a very nice accommodation and very nice people. My mother seems like she’s going to really like it there and is actually moving in tomorrow. Hopefully she would be happy there; it’s always a hard transition in the beginning, but it’s seems like it’s a very nice place with very nice people and hopefully everything works out. Mom will be getting a brand new one bedroom accommodation with a living room, a nice kitchen, newer bathrooms, kitchen cabinets, and all new appliances. They really accommodate the people there when you go and look at it, then they give you exactly what they show you, and they mean what they say. There are area services that if you need some assistance you can pay for and have assistance but right now she is independent and then if anything in our case like she has a stroke she can go into assisted. The woman that took me around answered all my questions and was very good, I would recommend the facility.

I’ve been living in Leisure Park for a year and a half. I have a studio and it’s nice. It has a full-size kitchen because I don’t like the food here; I’m diabetic and a weight watcher. The food is terrible -- a lot of times it’s cold and not cooked all the way through. I liked it before when they had a different chef. I don’t really communicate well with the staff except for the cleaning woman. I don’t find the staff to be that friendly. They don’t really have a lot of room to sit outside. They only have a patio with a few chairs. They do have a lot of recreation -- they go to Atlantic City and they have Bingo and casino night. They should have space for people like a swimming pool or outdoor activity. One good thing is they have doctors that come in. They also have Meridian, which provides nursing care and aides.

My father is at Leisure Park. I thought they were good, otherwise we wouldn't have chosen them. My father just moved in a week ago. He has a 1-bedroom. What I like most about this community, is that they seem very flexible. Their dining accommodations are very flexible. They have long periods of time in which you can get breakfast, even for lunch and for dinner. Overall, I definitely would recommend them to others.

My father moved in to the independent living section of Leisure Park a week ago. He made the choice, and I agreed. He has a one-bedroom unit. I like that they seem to be flexible, and their dining accommodation is also very flexible. You have a long period of time to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They don't have separate settings. I would definitely recommend it.

Leisure Park was very nice. It was very clean with a lot of activities. They had a lot of bus trips. I liked how they did the security; if you were supposed to be there for dinner or for lunch, you had to let them know if you couldn't be there. If you don’t, they would go to your room to make sure you were OK. It had one-bedroom apartments.

I had visited Leisure Park and it was actually the nicest of the bunch that I saw. It was very clean and well kept. The grounds and everything about it were very nice. The staff was very friendly and nice. They took us around. They had a very nice apartment and it had plenty of room in it. It was quite very impressive. If I were going to pick any of them, it would be that one.

We like the location and the cleanliness of Leisure Park. The people are very helpful. My sister-in-law moved there since last November. Right now she seems comfortable with the facility. They have quite few activities for the residents like they play bingo, watch movies, and some light entertainment.

I am a friend of a resident who I have recently visited. I was pleased with the outward appearance of the place. I had lunch and the dinning room staff was very pleasant and helpful. She lives in assisted living but the staff told us guest were welcome to eat in the independent living dinning room and even helped us get there. After our great lunch I brought her back to assisted living and helped her to her room. I noticed some resident needing some assistance in getting back to their rooms after their lunch and one even asked me where her aid was. I noticed a lot of the aids standing where some of the residents were receiving medication. I'm not sure of the quality of care or the amount of attention she is receiving.

When my mother-in-law who's staying at Leisure Park has an issue, they're prompt in answering or getting it done. They've been very accommodating to her. It doesn't feel like you're in a nursing home or an assisted living facility, it feels more like a hotel. The facility is clean, well kept and all the residents seem happy.

We have been to Leisure Park and inquired about the facility. The visit was fine, but it was expensive than we had hoped. The staff were okay. You need to take the elevator there to get access to the rooms. They don't have any pool and the food was okay.

It was isolated and I was not too happy with the activities because they were not regularly scheduled. I am not too happy with people who checked on them. I thought they were kind of lost. Their apartment was in a good size with one bedroom and one bathroom. I didn't like their food. I don't really think my friend was happy there. They needed to improve on the transportation and more activities for the residents.

Leisure Park was very well-cared for. People were being cared for as people. I was highly impressed with the staff but the only thing that is not number one right now is the distance from where I am at present. They were treating the residents in such a way that they did not feel they were put some place.

What I liked about Leisure Park is that they have independent living and assisted living. They also have skilled nursing for rehab and a dementia unit for people with Alzheimer's. In my wife's case, she had a room in the assisted living facility even though she is currently at the skilled nursing department for her rehab. I am able to accomplish her being taken care of by skilled nursing. I have no problems with the staff. Anytime I need anything or my wife needs anything they are available. They seemed to be pleasant. They seemed to go out of their way and very professional. I don't find the food to be that bad. They have some entertainment but I would like to see more. This facility is pretty good as far as my budget goes.

My father and uncle live together. They're both in their 90s. When my uncle broke his hip, my father couldn't be by himself. He always had a bad back, but he gets around with a walker, and he did everything himself. So we put him in Leisure Park because it's around the corner from where they live. When he went in there, they put him on Oxycodone, they gave him all medicines, and they had him in diapers. A couple of times when we went there, he didn't know where he was. And he was in wheelchair because they told him he can't get out of wheelchair. They have the people there all lined up in wheelchairs and they're all doped up. They won't even listen to me when I told them about a medicine that he's allergic to. And then he ended up getting bad bladder infection that he has to have catheter all the time, because they had the diapers on him and they wouldn't change him. So we got him out there. The doctors at the hospital informed me that they've had him on wrong medication, so he was a mess. I would never, never tell anybody to go to Leisure Park. They're mainly for money, they don't care. That's how I feel.

Leisure Park independent senior lving facility has provided my father a place to live and has helped him adjust to his failing health without making him feel dependent on care givers or family. While my father can still care for himself the facility still provides for some of his needs like cleaning and meals, and all this done with compassion and allowing for my father to maintain his dignity
