My mother was in the memory care unit for 4 years. They have 1 and only 1 person who has been with them since they opened 5 years ago. They are on at least the 3rd director, the 4 or 5th head nurse and the aides are lucky if they last a week. They changed to a point system to make their billing "more transparent". I had to ask 5 different times before I was allowed to see the listing of how the points were calculated. Pretty paint only goes so far. When you take a tour, ask yourself why no one is in the common areas. If you are looking at memory care, ask what percentage of the residents use their house Dr. and how many of them are on mood drugs such as seroquil and how often it is given. There is a reason they are walking around like zombies.

I was able to tour Cherrywood Pointe in Plymouth and I thought it was very nice. It was clean, it was new, and the staff seemed friendly and knowledgeable. It was very nice, I liked it. They had some health equipment and no pool. The amenities were just the living spaces and the care. It was a basic assisted living care and that's what we're looking for for my mother. It was a beautiful building. When you enter it was very welcoming and homey.
