Memory Care Communities in Anderson, SC

"I think that the grounds inside and the size of the place were very impressive. It seemed nicer than most of the other places that I saw. The rooms seemed a little bigger, although the square footage was comparable and the layout was just a little different. It is in the top two on my list. The amenities were very impressive, and there were a lot of activities for the residents, both in and out of house. A week prior to my visit, they had taken them up to the South Carolina Mountains to view the leaves and changing of the season. It was not just an outing to the mall, so they seemed to have a very active program. "

"We toured Waterstone on Augusta. What I liked about it was, number one, it was a newer facility. Number two, the care that we saw exhibited there seemed excellent. The people there were very accommodating. The facility itself was excellent, very clean and sanitary. There were lots of activities for the senior adults to get involved in, and the people there were just extraordinary."

"My mother will be moving into Kauhale Pettigru. I liked the location. It's convenient to my hometown and for all my siblings to get to. I liked the setting. It's in Downtown Greenville, so there are lots of trees and pretty outdoors. I liked that it's a smaller community. There are 20 people in memory care. It would be more conducive to the staff being more attentive. They're not overloaded. I had a pleasant experience. I liked the director who showed me around. She's very nice, very knowledgeable, and she knows her stuff. It was very clean. They had a patio and nice outdoor spaces. They had one that had a grill setup and an outdoor picnic area. They had another one that was sort of like a walking trail that just looped around the back. It was really nice."

"We toured The Blake at Hollingsworth Park. Compared to other facilities, it was pretty glamorous and it was more expensive. The staff during the tour was excellent. Everybody was very welcoming. The dining was more like a restaurant, so it was very nice. The room accommodations were very beautiful. They had a beautiful courtyard area. There was a media room. This is a very nice high-end facility."

"I visited three different communities in person, and we're just trying to figure out what was the best one for my friend's needs. I felt like The Legacy at Southpointe Drive had a lot going on. They have a chef that develops meals, and I just felt like that would be a good fun place for her to be."

"I went to TerraBella Marchbanks. I didn't see anything that I did not like about it. The people were nice, too. I just like the way that the people were very friendly, and they seemed to care for their residents. The facility was clean. You know how some facilities have an odor, this did not have it."

"Last month my mom became a resident of Ellenburg.Nursing Center. Every one I have met from the admissions office to the nursing staff have shown a genuine concern for my mom. I have never heard a negative comment or seen a negative attitude from any of the nursing staff. I know mother is well taken care of and she is safe. Even the activities director is fantastic. Mother used to work crossword puzzles and as her dementia has progressed, she can only work the word search puzzles, she always has a new puzzle book in her room. I can not say enough positive things about Ellenburg. Everytime I visit my mom, I try to make a point to tell someone what a blessing they are to me and how much they are appreciated. "

"My father is at Garden House. Has been there since 2015. This place is A++++++++all the way. The rooms are spacious and I can't say enough about the staff. They are so caring, friendly and I always walk through the front door to smiles from all. They have activities all through the day. Absolutely the best community in Anderson SC."

"The tour at Dominion Senior Living of Anderson was great. The facility has courtyards, a big common area, and a traditional layout. It's in town. The staff was great. They have a therapy program. They have studios, I looked in a semi-private room and they have a common area and private bedrooms, but they share a bathroom. They're faith-driven, so they have a church service there. But it's top-of-the-line expensive."

"I think the staff at Clemson Downs is very attentive. The facility is very clean and just very bright. The rooms are nice. They have a lovely porch that overlooks the woods from the back with flowers and bird feeders. The care that my family member is getting has been excellent. Even though it's memory care, they take the residents for activities in different locations within Clemson Downs. So, they're not stuck in their room. They also take them off the facility, like for ice cream or dinner or things like that. You don't get too much activity in other memory care facilities. My family member is high-functioning, so it's good for him. He gets three choices for each of his meals and he gets to choose fruits or juice. The facility looks pretty new. It's expensive, but if you can afford it, this is the place to go. It is the nicest of the memory care facilities by a long shot. It's well worth it. I have no hesitation when I walk away from there feeling that he is cared for, that things are clean, that he's being well-fed, and that the staff is very alert and considerate. They are very professional and it's a beautiful facility."

"Dominion Senior Living at Patrick Square was a very clean place. They had good activities. The people were very good. Everybody was friendly and it seemed very well-staffed. The food also tasted good."

"We are going to be moving my mom to Clemson Heritage Senior Living. Of all the places that were recommended, this was the most convenient one for us to get to. It's also the newest. It's brand new and really, really nice. We toured their assisted living, and the person who gave us the tour was terrific. We were just there a little while ago to sign all the papers. Her name is Amy, and she was really, really helpful. It's a good place. They had a courtyard and it was really nice. There's also a sunroom, a library, and an exercise room."

"My mom's experience at Oaks at Chanticleer has been great. They are very accommodating, and they take very good care of her. The staff has been very good. They're very experienced and know how to deal with people with dementia and Alzheimer's. The place is very nice and very clean. They have a whole board of activities. They have something from early in the morning until 8:00 at night. They have a wide variety of activities, from exercising to bingo to bowling."

"My grandmother has already moved into Fairview Park. She loves it. She loves everything about it. She loves how pretty it is. She loves the staff. She loves the food. She loves the comfort, and she loves her room. She loves everything she’s experiencing. She is doing OK. "
