"I visited Suffield by the River to see their memory care. It's top-notch and a great place. It's right near my home, very clean, and well-appointed. The staff could be a little bit friendlier, though. It's got everything that anybody would need but it's also a little bit pricey. They have shared rooms and private ones if you want to pay extra. They have common areas and a dining hall. They have activities and plenty of stuff for the residents to do. They also have a lot of in-house services like the usual hairdresser."

"All American Assisted Living looked like it would be a very nice place. It was just a little bit expensive. They've got all the conveniences there. They have their own medical staff and your personal grooming is all taken care of right there. The rooms were very nice. They were fairly roomy. Their dining area was very clean and spacious. The staff was very informative. The building is approximately two years old."

"I like Holiday Bluebird Estates. It seems very clean and spacious. The residents seemed pretty happy. They were all smiling, which made a good first impression. The staff was very cordial, very helpful, and informative. They have a section where there's a pool table. There are tables for them to play cards or whatever else they have. They have a room with books for reading and a TV for watching. They have another section with some aerobics equipment for working out. They have an activity room where they play bingo. There's a community kitchen with a stove and a fridge. I also saw a couple of studios and one-bedroom apartments, which were very clean and nice."

"I didn't have any negatives at The Reserve at East Longmeadow. It's absolutely beautiful. It's lovely, new, and spacious. It has a lot of natural light everywhere. It's larger than the other place, so it has a lot of different seating options for the residents and their guests. There are more facilities and more activities. While I didn't dine there, I looked at the menus, and the menu options for the senior residents are wonderful. They have many options for all meals. And it looks like it's fine dining, so that was impressive."

"My father-in-law was at Keystone Commons and it was very good. It's clean and the staff was attentive. His room was well cared for. It was very good. Everything was more than adequate. As my father-in-law's abilities to take oral nutrition independently faded or were diminished, the staff was attentive and helpful when he needed assistance on that. Depending on someone's functional abilities, they offer differing activities, whether it's games or things like bingo or music therapy. They offer pet therapy as well."

"Orchard Valley at Wilbraham was fabulous. All of the staff members were wonderful. Stephanie was the one that I dealt with, and she couldn't have been any more attentive or helpful. The room that my cousin was going to go into was way more than we expected. It was really like a two-room suite, it was delightful. My cousin was going into a respite room, and then if that worked out and she decided to stay, then she would bring her own things in. We were thrilled that they offered that kind of situation because everything was happening so fast here that we needed to move quickly. So, going into a respite room rather than thinking about having to outfit it with all of my cousin's own furniture made it a lot easier. We were really sad that it didn't end up happening, but they couldn't have been any more helpful."

"The Residence at Brookside was a very nice facility. Partly the reason is because they're more expensive than the other place. It's a beautiful place. They have a memory care facility as well, but we didn't look at that. We only met the marketing lady, and she was very nice. We couldn't go in there if we didn't wear masks. I was impressed."

"We have brought my aunt into Arden Courts of Avon, and they were all wonderful. She is there for a short-term respite. The reason we chose them was that they were very welcoming, the location was convenient to our home, and it didn't seem like a hospital-type setting. It feels very home. The staff who assisted us were excellent, professional, warm, and welcoming. We're very happy with the staff. We're very pleased with the facilities."

"This faculty is top notch!! My mother in law has been going to the senior day program for a couple years now and the staff have been wonderful with her. She suffers from dementia and has done well here! Candace and Jennifer and Valerie are warm, friendly and compassionate!! I feel my mother in law is safe and in good hands! They offer me suggestions and always keep me informed of her day. They offer many fun activities , meals and my mother in law really enjoys the salsa dancing! Great place and great staff!!!"

"Hoffman SummerWood Community was a very nice community. It's a Jewish community pretty much. It was very friendly and I met the rabbi there. My friend is a pretty devout Catholic, and I thought this might not be the best place for her. I didn't see a lot of Christian things going on. It's not all Jewish, obviously, but it was a different environment than the other places that I saw. It's a very warm community and a very pleasant environment. They have book clubs, chess clubs, and writing clubs. They'd go on field trips to the shopping centers and whatnot."

"Brookdale South Windsor was nice. We liked it. It's really nice inside. However, the rooms were a little smaller than the place we chose. Everyone was very friendly when we were there. The building seemed so much bigger from the inside."

"I visited Brookdale West Hartford and looked at their memory care unit for my mother. As a visitor, I liked everything about it. It's very nice, and the layout is very good. I like the way they laid out the floors. I think the food is very good, too. The people are very nice and very attentive. It's a very nice and very warm place. It's also a very clean facility."
