Decatur House

The staff at Decatur House was lovely. The people who owned it were very attentive and caring. It's a small family-owned place, which gave it an entirely different feel than the other places. This would have been our top choice had we been able to convince my parents-in-law to move. The rooms were open, roomy, and efficiently designed. The entire place was very accessible too. It was easy to park, easy to see the signage, and easy to find the entrance. Since it's smaller than a lot of places, it was much more accessible. Their dining area was bright, open, and looked like a dining area in a restaurant. It's very lovely and very nicely appointed. We ran into some of the residents and they looked happy and comfortable as well. It's a very big house, but it looked like someone's home. It was very nice and immaculate.

Decatur House was very, very nice. The owner operators were extremely attentive and thoughtful. It was a small family run business. It's got nice grounds, and the rooms were lovely. We didn't really look into the activities because my sister isn't really interested in any of those. It's been recently renovated.

My mother is in Decatur House for respite, and it's been amazing. Her apartment is very comfortable. The only complaint she has is it's just very quiet right now and we're gonna relate that to mostly Covid. The staff has been amazing. There's not a lot right now, but they're doing their best. They do an exercise class in the morning that's videotaped and a couple of other things that they've had. They do a little wine trivia thing before dinner, but they're working on trying to pick that up. The only complaint my mother has is a little bit of boredom. She raves about the food. They have a nice deck in the back where she can go out and sit and they also have pathways that they can walk through the garden. It's very clean.
