I chose The Bonifant at Silver Spring because, for one thing, I prefer an urban living environment. It is located centrally and everything I could want and need is there, the gym, library, the movie theater and shopping, Starbucks, and the accessibility to the metro. Everything is right there. But the problem is the price because, for senior income limitation, I make too much. So, they're saying that I could also look at apartments there that are not designated with a certain income, so I'm trying to work it out. The staff is very personable and very nice. I haven't had a sit-down with them because of COVID. But over the phone, the manager was very nice. In fact, I'm getting ready to call her tomorrow because I want more details in terms of utilities. That's another consideration; you have to pay utilities there. It's totally independent. The facilities and building are excellent; they're clean, modern, and well-kept. I saw 2 apartments, they're both beautiful, great presentation and it's just ideal. It has a washer and dryer in the apartment which is definitely something that I've desired for quite a while.

The people I met at The Bonifant at Silver Spring were friendly. The person who provided the tour was very efficient. The room I saw was a studio and it was adequate. It had what it was supposed to have, like a nice bathroom. It's also just a couple of blocks from downtown Silver Spring where all stores and restaurants are.

I lived at the Bonifant at Silver spring, and it's totally independent. There are no senior program, but there's a person who organizes events, gets speakers in, and she serves Tuesday morning coffee from 11 to 12. There are no meals served, but you have your own kitchen. The apartments are roomy, I have a 1-bedroom, and it's comfortable and large. It's an 11-story building with a couple of elevators, and there's no parking provided. We have a small, but effective maintenance staff. It's in downtown Silver Spring, so you can walk to most of the attractions.

The Bonifant at Silver Spring was nice, but I think for the cost that they're asking for, the room was on the small side. They showed me what they call the studio. They did have a list of activities that the residents could do. The dining area was nice, spacious, and clean. The maintenance seemed to be good. The staff was easy to talk to.
