I liked the people at Peace Gardens Assisted Living. They were very, very nice. The manager was very nice to me and she answered all my questions. She showed me several different types of rooms and they were exceptional. That gave me a sense that they take care of their people because of how nice they are. If my aunt was where she needed that much care, then that would be a perfect spot for her. They had a salon and a gym. You can go outside and get fresh air. They have bingo and games. They take the meals together, so they're not eating alone.

I went to tour Peace Gardens Assisted Living. It was an older facility, but it was well-maintained. They offered all the amenities that we were looking for. Overall, I'd say the impression was good. They had a social room. There was ample seating in the dining room. It was not overly crowded, and that's the one thing that I did like. I only met two people and they were both very pleasant, nice, and easy to speak with.

When I visited everybody was very friendly, cooperative, and very pleasant. They showed me the dining room where residents would eat. Their menu was very appetizing and was easy to read. I thought the rooms were very small though. That is the reason why my dad did not like it; but for me, it was acceptable. The private room was really nice, and I liked it. The first rooms they showed us were semi private, so he would be sharing a room with another person. It would be very small for two people with only a curtain dividing one person from the other. The facility looked clean and neat. The nursing assistant that showed us around was very nice, pleasant, and very well versed as far as what was going on in the facility. I was very happy with her.

We were able to visit one other place that is starting to open up here. We thought it was very nice. It was small. The rooms were small; that was the main thing we didn't care too much about. They didn't have any way in their own room that they could make a pot of coffee. If they wanted coffee, they would have to go out into a communal area to do that. If someone likes an old home, they would love that because it basically was an old home that was remodeled to make it into an assisted living center. We thought that the staff was very nice. The rooms were very small. The shower wasn't a full-sized shower; it was just enough to stand up in. They were very clean. They had a lot of communal rooms, like for watching TV and for activities. All the food at that point was being served in their rooms, so they didn't have anything available. The staff was very good.

My mother is here and so far it's fine. Her room is clean, and she's comfortable. They play bingo and someone comes in and does exercises in the morning. The staff is friendly, inviting, welcoming, and polite.
