Arbor Court Retirement Community at Topeka

I've only just been at Arbor Court a day or two, and I already began to feel like I'm at home. Everybody here is very caring and friendly. They treated me like they were happy that I am here. It's the most fulfilling place that I have ever lived in. There is the sense that you feel like they want you here. I feel accepted by everybody. This past week, I have begun to get involved in doing different things. I went to the exercise class, and I will continue to go because it's friendly and easy. They care that you are there. They have breakfast and lunch. Both of them are always really nice to eat. They set me up with a couple of ladies that had been here for a long time, so I would feel comfortable. They showed me around. They have bingo and games. If you need anything, they are there to help you. I have an early lunch, and it's always well designed as far as nutrition goes. It looks good enough that you want to eat them. They also taste good. It's really well done. Breakfast is served early in the morning at each door, and it's a simple breakfast for the most part. The outside building looks like a plain building. When you walk in, you'd feel like you're in a west Yellowstone environment because there's a lot of wood. They have fireplaces with elegant decorations. Everybody has something that they made that they hang on their doors. It makes it look extremely friendly, and you know that is who they are. It's just a beautiful place inside.

The staff is friendly and helpful. My parents have been here several years and are very happy with their decision to move to Arbor Court. The food is delicious and the menu varied day to day week to week and month to month. There are provisions for getting to medical appointments and the store for shopping but they have not used those services.

Arbor Court Retirement Community at Topeka is a very nice community but had a little bit different feel to it. The apartments seemed a little bit bigger, and the prices were a little bit lower but did not include utilities and only had two meals a day, although you have the option for a third meal. The whole facility was a little bit smaller so I had a sneaking suspicion that it might be a little easier for someone moving into it to feel at home in a smaller place. The staff is very friendly and nice.

Arbor Court Retirement Community at Topeka was very nice and the staff was great. The dining room could be a little busy. The apartments were very nice. They had a nice courtyard where you can go outside and sit.

I visited Arbor Court. It was not a medical facility, and my husband had dementia, so when he got worse, we would have to move to some other place. They did not serve breakfast. It was a nice, open facility with a library and three stories with a common area on each with plush chairs and tables. You could sit around and visit with other people.

This facility is small, parking is limited, rooms are small, but they offer a guest suite for visiting family or friends at a very affordable rate, staff and residents all smile and seem to know each other, they provide two meals a day, each apartment has a kitchenette, refrigerator and good cabinet space. There is plenty of closet space and a large storage cabinet. There is an on site beauty salon for hair and nails. Small pets are allowed. Many activities and some entertainment and massage is offered. Assistance is available from several local people and rides are offered for shopping and medical appointments. The facility has large open areas for cards, games, puzzles Etc and there is free wi-fi throughout the facility. Just an overall pleasant atmosphere.
