We toured Brookdale Topeka. There were a lot of patients who were pretty advanced in dementia and like people crawling on the floor and drooling. It's kind of overwhelming. Alarms are going on all the time. It was loud there and a little bit dreary there, too. I think somebody needs to go in there and freshen it up with new paint and new carpet. It was a little more expensive. The salesman knew the answer to everything when we asked. He had an answer for everything.

The Staff is incredible, listens to my family wishes for our mother, and responds quickly. the staff is very empathic with not just my mom, but also with the other residents. it was the best decision for my mother and our family to place her at Brookdale.

Good, clean and decent size rooms with a big bathroom. Also provide cable, laundry and the meals. Three, three course meals. The staff is great and can accomodate most all requests. My dad is doing very well since he's been here. I am very happy with Tracy and Brookdale.

Brookdale Topeka was my favorite for memory care and dementia out of all the places I visited. They focus on dementia and Alzheimer's only. You have to have a diagnosis with them, so that's why we can't use them right now. We don't have an actual diagnosis of dementia. I like them best on how they handle that and so forth. I like that it was small, and they are able to focus on the residents there (more than a larger facility). They showed us the model rooms. One room wasn't a model, but was a room they had available. It was a little bigger. For what I was looking for, it felt tight. However, for one individual person, it would be a good setup. We were looking at their double-room occupancy for my parents. If they had a shared room at a lower cost, that would be a good option. They try not to keep the residents in their rooms so much, in order to keep them active throughout the day. They have activities throughout the day. They keep them out as much as they can. The person who gave the tour was really good. He was knowledgeable. He was empathetic to my situation and tried to help where he could. They only cook at a certain time frame. They have family-style meals. It is one meal that they serve. If you don't like what they're serving, they have an option so they will eat. I like how the facility was set up. They have a courtyard and some of the rooms are facing it.

My mother stayed at Brookdale Topeka. She wasn't there very long because she passed away. I was very impressed with it, and I would choose it again. She was only there for a week. I was impressed with the people, and for the time she was there, the communication was very good. They were in touch often to tell me what was going on. They even had a Zoom meeting.

I chose Brookdale Topeka for my momma. I went out there first, I talked to a few people, and they seemed nice and caring. They've taken great care for her. They tell me that they've been in there every day, there's a nurse that sees her every day, and a doctor that sees her once a week. I'm very happy with what's going on. I like the food there; it smells great outside.

We went to Brookdale Topeka. The salesperson was very nice, continues to get back with me to see how things are going, and very concerned and caring. The only problem I had was there was smell of urine mainly in the entryway onto the furniture and the floor. The rooms looked fine. They have a bus to take them out on outings.

Brookdale Topeka is in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Their building was nice and in good repair. They have an enclosed courtyard, which is the main thing I was impressed with. The residents could be outside when the weather is now. However, you have to provide furniture in the room, like their beds and their dressers and so forth, which I thought was a little different. The brief time I was there, the staff members all seemed friendly, nice, and helpful.

My wife has been in Brookdale Topeka for three months now. It is a wonderful place with wonderful caretakers. They are well staffed and have a great chef; the food is exceptional. There are three different hallways of rooms. I think they have four shared rooms and the rest of them are private rooms. They are at least three sitting areas and TVs scattered throughout the place. They have daily activities in the morning and in the afternoon. Every morning they do a 45-minute sitting exercise program which they follow with snacks and drinks. Then they have a sing-a-long or a video game, like The Price is Right or Family Feud, and everybody participates. In the afternoon, they have crafts and more snacks and drinks. In the evening, they usually show a movie, have a Q&A session, or trivia.

The care at Brookdale Topeka appeared to be fine, but we wanted our parents to be together in one room and this place would not be able to provide that. The people we met were excellent. The dining area was fine, and the layout was very good, but I did not like the room. Their rationale was that they didn't want their residents to stay in the bedroom and wanted them to participate in the activities instead, which was a nice reason.

Brookdale Topeka seemed like a good place with excellent people. It seemed like the people were being well taken care of. They were providing OK entertainment the day we visited with a musical program, and other activities going on. It is five minutes away from where we live. Everybody was very pleasant to everybody else, and it’s pretty well maintained.

We really liked Brookdale. It was top notch. It’s just that it was not as convenient for the rest of us, but it was very well-maintained, and the staff was very good. That is one place I wish we could have put mom in. They had activities going on all day long. They were just really good there.

I visited Brookdale Topeka. It was very good. It was bit expensive, but it seemed to fit what I needed for my father. The rooms looked good, and they had it modified for the individual. I was impressed with the activities. They had activities that seemed to be usable for my father. The staff seemed friendly and positive.

My father was in Brookdale Topeka's care until his death 8 days ago. If I could build a building and hand pick the people who would care for my father, it would be EXACTLY like Brookdale Topeka. The people genuinely care about their "family" of residents. And, it is a family! The communication is outstanding and the facility is always clean. There is such a positive feeling when you walk in the door. They got to know my father and loved him even when he was difficult. I am so grateful for their care and compassion. They allowed me to be his daughter. They took care of the rest. It is hard to say goodbye to my Brookdale family!

Clare Bridge was very expensive. The people were very friendly and very warm. There were no problems with them. They showed me the listing of everything that they had, and I could tell that they kept the people busy, which was nice.

This is a beautiful facility operated by the large management company Brookdale. It is focused specifically on memory care, so it is a secure facility. While the building is a few years old now, it was very clean and well-maintained. I actually arrived this morning just as a truck full of furniture was pulling into the driveway. My guide explained that the facility was being remodelled so all of the furniture would be replaced. Despite several temporarily empty common areas, the facility felt small and homey. It had three separate, enclosed courtyard areas where residents were encouraged to garden, paint, and barbecue, as well as sit on the sun porch and read. Indoors, in an effort to encourage "daily moments of success" the managers have set up a number of task-specific activity stations which they say allows residents with memory issues to feel accomplished. Some of these include a dishwashing station, laundry folding, a carpentry workbench area (without dangerous tools), and a sewing machine (without a needle). I would heartily recommend this facility to residents with memory care needs. However, I'm unsure that this facility would be well-equipped to accommodate my grandfather who has no memory problems. While the care would be impeccable for his wife, I'm afraid he would find himself frustrated without some friends and neighbours who did not suffer from Alzheimer's or Dementia.
